@rebekaarcestudio OOH and WIP recap of ‘Gernika85’ campaign, the first symphonic work by @aitor_etxebarria_ performed with grammy award winner percussionist @dameevelynglennie and Bilbao Symphony Orchestra composed in commemoration of the 85th anniversary of the bombing of Gernika. The visual interpretation seeks to convey the weight of this atrocious historical event through a figure inspired by bomb materials such as steel, widely used in the works of Basque artists such as Oteiza and Chillida, which have served as inspiration for the creation of the figure that represents this sound piece. The symphony combines passages where silence takes center stage with others in which the dynamics are maximum in a sound walk through eccentric aesthetics and minimalist landscapes, together with testimonies of survivors of the bombing.
