I had a thing happen in Clangen and I need to share (and probably eventually draw/make a story about)

For background, the two main cats (Boulderlight and Dustshard) are siblings, in a mountainous Clan known as Crestedclan. Their parents are Fawnstar and Frostsnap, the two are from different litters. Boulder is older with a sneaky personality, Dustshard just graduated a few moons ago and is compassionate.

The Clan recently ended a war with a neighboring Clan; during that time Boulderlight's leg was broken from a trap that had been set. She's nest-bound while it heals, which is fine because she's expecting kits. (Dustshard sympathizes; he had broken a bone during his assessment - he'd graduated on time, and recovered just fine! But he remembers the feeling all-too well)

The kits are born, and after a few weeks Boulderlight's leg heals, although it's horribly mangled- she'll clearly have to relearn how to walk on it.

Dust offers to take his sister out on a walk outside camp - not far, he promises, just to get some air. She happily agrees, although it takes much more effort to convince her mate, Scorchbloom.

"We're not going that far, just for me to get some air. Besides, you heard Lynxstep, I need to exercise my leg-"

Scorchbloom doesn't like it ("Why can't you get some air in camp?") but eventually agrees, going to watch their kits.

I'm kinda vague on details here, but essentially the two go out and enjoy themselves, have some sibling bonding, etc. but are stopped by the smell of rogue. It puts them on edge for obvious reasons, but there's also the fact that the last moon a rogue was spotted, but fled before he could be chased off. The patrol at the time had felt very strange and off-put by how quickly he fled and agreed to keep an eye out.

The siblings now are on edge, and are suddenly confronted by a gang of 3-4 rogues, who, while they don't seem violent, immediately put Boulder on edge. They give off a weird vibe, and she tries to subtly, quietly, get Dust to go back to camp without the rogues noticing, or at least before they get more aggressive. After all, he can at least run and get help.

Dustshard refuses, until Boulderlight physically shoves him, right as one of the rogues leaps. She's forced to the ground, and he bolts, one of the attackers hard on his paws.

The sounds of Boulderlight's battle draw another patrol, but it's already too late - Boulderlight is dead.

Dustshard isn't going back to camp with this stranger behind him. He's going back to his sister as fast as possible. He realizes he knows this territory better than this intruder, so hides himself... Before ambushing the larger cat. Dustshard knows he's losing, but he can at least take this rogue with him. In a final, desperate attempt, he tackles the stranger and pushes them both into what is known to be an unstable part of the mountain...

Hearing his mate's death, Scorchbloom can't return to the nursery...

XD #so yeah currently these rogues are trying to have the Clans fight each other/kill each other off so they can have the territories #unless something else happens? #ALSO in the moons since we've been getting A LOT of kits where the other parent is unknown so uhhh- #that could ALSO be a thing??? (idk how/what tho)

I interacted with warrior cats maybe one time as a kid (read the first book and never cared to continue, I wasn’t a warrior cats kid but I was a wolf kid so honestly that might’ve been worse) but clangen is fun as hell even if I don’t know much about the series beyond what I can remember being established in the first book

Anyway here are some favorite cats of mine from my latest clan of my like nine thousand clans, CrestedClan, Doefin and Pigeondart!!

CrestedClan has a lot of dramatic moments because woefully the mass extinction event feature LOVES CrestedClan, I waited until the clan was 100 moons old to actually pick cats to draw and we’ve been hit by about five extinction events thus far. Woefully common thread is that one cat will get lost, remain lost for an extremely long time and when they finally do return, their entire family is uh. Dead.

Which is what makes these two so special because Doefin was taken by twolegs and actually returned before his entire family could die yay!! And by that I mean he had one family member left, his sister Pigeondart. Doefin was named for his wisdom then disappeared shortly after, being gone for about 30 moons and returning with the shameless trait instead. Pigeondart (who is also trans yes slay) was the last surviving member of their family up to that point as their mother Laurelleg died during a mass extinction event until at last her brother came home and she was lonely no more! They’re very close and have a lot of trust in each other though Doefin does have some dislike for her, but he also kind of dislikes everyone on his relationship list. With how many families have been systematically annihilated in CrestedClan, and usually one by one to max out the grief and suffering factor*, these two are important to me. There are a total of 10 cats with siblings in the clan, and it is only them and a pair of apprentices who do not have any dead siblings, and them, the aforementioned apprentices and one pair of brothers who have siblings that are still alive, because everyone else aside from those groups has nothing but dead siblings on their family tree. Keep Doefin and Pigeondart together, do not separate, if anything happens to them I’m gonna scream

(to give you an idea of how much the mass extinction event feature loves visiting this clan, there are 20 cats alive and the clan is 104 moons old. There are 75 dead cats.)

*key example of this is poor Cashmereleg, who had three kits who all grew into warriors, but then began to get picked off one by one, though one of her daughters was actually still alive and lost from the clan, so I was waiting for the longest time for Harespot to come home and prove to her mother her entire family hadn’t died off yet, but Harespot remained lost for some odd 50 moons, and before Harespot could return, Cashmereleg was killed in a mass extinction event. Harespot died alone outside of the clan about 10 moons later.

OK!!! disclaimer I don’t remember most of this so I’m just making it up :3

So before. They were a GIANT, GINORMOUS CLAN!!!! which I will call crestedclan. crestedclan’s leadership system is where the leader has a “legiance” where their family tree rules, usually the clan votes on who this can be. UNTIL. moonstar’s WHOLE family (or at least the available heirs) and also half the clan get abducted by two legs. what happens then? they don’t! moonstar’s great x50 grandma had a reign SO long they completely forgot what to do, so the only thing they COULD do was go and find a cat to rule. Flaming Cheetos was happy to help. Unfortunately, Flaming Cheetos was also very incompetent.

immediately flaming Cheetos has one (1) kid. when he is told about this heir system he gets a little pressured and makes blazeember a warrior early because that’s what he’d likely do. blazeember is shoving this in everyone’s faces and nobody likes it
