Hello! I just want to say that I find your replies of "I will pray for you" for rude people so funny yet inspirational. It made me see Our Lord's words of "give them the other cheek" in a whole new light. Because it's basically "why respond evil with evil when you can say something nice? the unjust will get angry either way"... and at the same time, it's so much more complex than just this.

Sometimes saying that you're praying for them, might awaken them to the fact that you really don't mean harm. Other times... yes, this poor soul infected by evil will get angrier (which is more sad for them, really). I'm also reading LOTR's 2nd book, so every time a enemy gets pissed off at the mere presence of light, beauty or something remotely good, I'm like "yeah, people be like that at times".

In summary, seeing your and other blogs examples of good Christian condute is inspiring me to try more and be actually gentle, even if I'm angry at the harsh words of the world. It's imitation of Christ and people, especially Christians, should be aware that following the path of Our Lord isn't impossible or absurd. It's actually the best way to conduct in general and it will do wonders to those who suffers greatly from wrath (me, for example lol). and very epic as well

actually sickening working in the food industry with a greedy ass boss like it really rots ya mind. i wanna quit so bad but i havent gotten any calls from places yet. i literally cannot make rent working here literally do not get paid enough to bother fucking staying. the only reason ive stuck around so long is bc we get fed lunch and thats one less meal to worry bout. got my paycheck yesterday and it wasnt even 200 like the SECOND i get a call im fucking out. its funny bc my boss has joked with customers that nobody my age wants to work n like yeah! not in these fucking condutions. u literally go n tell me that u hate hiring ppl bc u dont wanna train new ppl fucking get over it. its not fair to me that before the accident i was doing the work of three fucking ppl man!

test if smol car will maybe decide to start now (done; it didn't)

ask fifo for diagnosis (he says it's probs the battery)

find our car battery charger (done)

unplanned but also done: add mosquito screen to the kitchen window \o/

check on the garden (it's green and doing fine; i caught some daphnies for the indoor fins)

this afternoon's todolist:

EAT. i have empenadas, should not be too difficult to manage =_=

plug the smol car's battery to see if it charges (i need to find an extension for that)

add a lil mesh around the big-tank filter so i can give the daphnies to eat to the *fish*, not the filter…

tidy up the crafts room a bit. or a lot. i'll spend my afternoon here, at least it's cool with no need for air condutionning :|

… probably order some nice stuff +_+

check if car battery has charged.

- if not, wait for fifo and go buy a new one.

- if charged, checl some measurments and go buy stuff to make the garden Actually Cat Proof, so that ninon can go outside and not wander wherever (starting in the adjacent neighbour's garden, since she has a *phobia* of cats and… uh… i don't want her near my cat or any cat actually.)

and that should be enough. small manageable important tasks, some vague useful ones, some breathing space allowed.

Stephanie Cox, Mental health Counselor specializing with children, families and adults surmizes in an article in Psychology today, child development in America is individualistic when families are small and spread out, while large families are more likely to have social cushions due to extended family members such as cousins

Extended family members, neighbors, church members, teachers, and community leaders all play vital roles, creating a supportive network. This communal approach not only shares the burden of child-rearing but also fosters a sense of unity, reinforcing cultural bonds.

Mental health

First-generation Africans navigate a complex intersection of mental health and cultural identity within their communities. Traditional values often emphasize resilience, but discussions around mental well-being remain stigmatized, often replaced by religious solutions. Going to church and praying about issues that arise mentally can often lead to distrust in parental figues.

In a study conduted by Ifeoma P. Okafor, Damilola V. Oyewale, Chidumga Ohazurike, and Adedoyin O. Ogunyemi on perceptions of mental health and illness amongst rural-dwelling women in western Nigeria, they stated that mental health problems are synonymous to ancestral influence or bewitchment, and that traditional healers are the source of a cure.

Week 3

HIPPODRAMA AND LITTLE HAGIA SOPHIA TOUR

On October 23th we went on a trip with as a class with our teacher and guest teacher for our art history class. The weather was on our side it was sunny and warm even though it shouldn’t be in the middle of the october. We were lucky that our school take place in a central area for especially historical places. It only took us around 20 minutes  to reach Sultanahmet. After we wait for the students who preffered to come by themselves we were ready to start.

      We were standing at the middle of everything actually. I did not know where we were heading, I actually did not even know what we were doing there, so I waited our teachers to lead the way to some old building. But they didn’t. Our guest teacher started to told that we were actually standing on what we were there to see. We were standing on the Hippodrome So many think is build on it now and you don’t realise you are standing on it but when you realise It is a huge area when you think about it. From what I learned they used to do horce races here and the contractions in th emiddle of it were defining the race path. The reason they had race was to show off basically. In the wars soldiers ride horses so the empire was trying to show off with their warriors and how fast they can ride. Also they were putting a show. Mind games and public picture had an important place in those times like it is right now. Especially for those times I can not even how imprassive that Hippodrome was.

     Then we started to walk towards the standing stones. Each of them were made by other emperor. Due to getting made in different times and condutions they all look quite different from each other. Representation and the story they had was all different and obviously they had a race between them. The new one always tried to top the last one with trying to make it bigger. “Obelisk” is probably the most known one. It was my favourite by far. The details it has was mesmerasing. The iconography was so obvious to read. While the bottom part was made in Ancient Rome, the top part was brought from Egypt and has hieroglyphics on it. The whole story of it was setted up is on the Obelisk. I could have sit next to it and analyse every part of it and I would actually enjoy it even though I’ve never thought I could. Second one was kind of a let down after the first one. I think it used to be hreat it is own time but now basically half of it is lost. “Serpent Column” had 3 snake head on it but they are gone now so I was not able to understand what it is until I read it. I would love to see the original form. “Walled Obelisk” was the last one to see. For me he was just going to make the biggest one. Well he suceed but for me it was the most boring one to look at. For me it’s compasition did nothing. “Obelisk” was still my favourite by far.

      While we were walking towards to the “Little Ayasofya Mosque” we saw the Hippordrome from the sides. I did not think it would be this high. After all those earthquakes and other natural disasters it was still standing still, looking alright. Even though they were one of the first empires to use cements they did an incredible job with it.

        When we finally reach the masque I saw that the other structures around it were complimenting to the mosque, they all looked synced. Obviously I was not welcomed in the Masque so I could not get into it because my life and who I am did not fit in their system so I only could look at from the outside. It did not feel so unique or different like other mosques this one also had oval structures which I did not enjoy. To me oval shapes represents things that are more soft and kind. Which is a conflict to me cause I always see religion as a sharp thing so oval shapes do not go with the visuals that I have for religion.        Just in 1-2 hours I learned so many things that I did not expect to enjoy. It was an experience for me to change the way I look at art history class.

Look I get being tired of realism in video games and I get being tired of the reliance of CGI but the way some of you on this site talk about it makes it clear you have no respect for the people creating that and that needs to change. You have no respect for these people and yet you call on them to unionize, in the hope that this will destroy their field of work? Not for thrm to having better working condutions, but dor the hope that their field will disappear? You repeatedly call their work lesser than the work of others?
