Jean: Would be an emotional wreck. They would pull it together for like 10 seconds, and then start sobbing again. Would kiss the MC on the forehead, the cheek, the lips. They want the MC to know how much they've meant to them, how profoundly they've changed their life. They want the MC to know that they were loved so, so much--and that it'll kill them once the MC dies.

I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I want to--I want to make this moment perfect...But I can't stop crying. I'm sorry.

Vic: I can see them holding the MC in their arms as close as possible. They've never been good at words, so they'd probably just sit there in silence--because there are no words for this. Gently press their lips against the MC's forehead and keep it there, trying to memorize everything before the MC turns.

...I love you. Always.

Dr. Grey: I think Dr. Grey would try to act strong for the MC, but near the end he'd probably start crying. Not noisy crying, but the MC could see his shoulders shaking, his hands trembling as he held them. Burying his face against the MC's neck, trying to get himself under control but failing.

You...You are one of the best things that's ever happened to me.

Dr. Sloan: Dr. Sloan would be numb inside, but on the outside she'd be so gentle to the MC, softly stroking their cheek with her thumb. The MC would probably make a joke that they know they're dying 'cuz Dr. Sloan is being nice to them, and Dr. Sloan would probably laugh-cry because of course the MC would do that, that's why they got together, that's why they fell in love.

Let's go full drama and say the MC pushed them out of the way of a car.

Eli: "Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. No, no, no." Would be half trying to perform first aid, half crying/sobbing hysterically. Would not leave the MC's side--the paramedics would literally have to pry them away (and, even then, probably wouldn't succeed).

Davy: Outwardly, calm and collected, trying to do damage control and keep the MC awake. But, their fingers are shaking. And there's a tremble in their voice. "Why would you do that? Why would you--"

Jean: Would be having a full-blown panic attack. All medical knowledge has left their brain. Crying, gasping for breath, calling out the MC's name. Cradling the MC's head in their hands. "MC. MC. Please. Don't--don't--"

Vic: Would go into crisis mode and immediately start first aid. While waiting for the ambulance, would be holding the MC's hand in a death-grip. "If you fucking die on me, I'll never forgive you."

Dr. Grey: Would be the calmest out of the ROs. Scarily efficient, immensely protective. Don't even think about fucking up around him right now--paramedics, he's looking at you (and, yes, he will be riding in the ambulance). "Hey, love, stay with me. You'll be all right. You'll be fine."

Dr. Sloan: Like Vic and Dr. Grey, would immediately stamp down her feelings about the matter to administer first aid. Still, her heart's racing in her ears--and, fuck, where's the ambulance? She normally has a short fuse, but watch out now--one misstep with the MC's care, and she'll be tearing into you. "You'll be okay. Just keep your eyes on me."

going off the "super chill fight" ask, how would the ROs react if the MC got hurt by a patient? like the patient lashed out or something and punched MC really, really hard

I'm going to answer this ask assuming the patient is still riled up and ready to fight.

Eli: Immediately ready to throw hands, professionalism be damned.

Davy: Would automatically step between the patient and the MC, so the MC didn't get hurt any further. “Touch them again, and you’ll regret it.”

Jean: "No!" -jabs finger at patient- "You do not behave this way. Sit the fuck down. If you so much as move, so help me--"

Vic: Would make themselves as tall and threatening as possible. "I would choose your next move very carefully."

Dr. Grey: Would say very coolly, "I highly suggest you don't try anything like that again." His tone? Absolutely terrifying.

Dr. Sloan: "We are in a hospital. You will behave like you are in a hospital. Calm down, sit down, or I will have you on your ass outside of this hospital so fast, you'll still have an IV in you."

How would the ROs react if they were arguing with the MC and accidently said something that really hurt the MC and they just turned around and left the room?

Eli: Would instantly regret it. They know they're petty and can get caught up in the heat of the moment easily, so I can see them snapping out of it and going after the MC.

Davy: Davy's pretty stubborn, so I can see them stewing by themselves for a while before realizing they should probably apologize. It would be one of the most awkward apologies ever, but it'd be sincere.

Jean: Would immediately follow the MC, their heart dropping down to their stomach. Jean has anxiety, so I can see them start to get worked up (i.e. panicking) as their thoughts spiral.

Vic: Would probably give the MC some space before texting the MC, apologizing and asking if they could talk.

Dr. Grey: Dr. Grey usually has a pretty good handle on his emotions and what he says to others, so if he gets to the point where he says something really hurtful to the MC, it's probably about a subject that he wasn't willing to discuss in the first place. I can see him leaving the MC be, to the point where it seems like he's stone-walling them.

Dr. Sloan: I think it would depend on her partner. If her partner was the type of person who needed space, she would give them space. If her partner was the type of person who didn't need space, she would go after them.

How would Dr Grey feel if MC needed a nino surgery but he couldn’t do it cause he was personally involved with them and they were to die on the table would he blame the other surgeon or would he be beating himself up thinking if he was there he could have saved you.

I think he would definitely beat himself up about it. Like, was there anything he could have done so it hadn't gotten to this point? Was there something he had missed? He would probably run everything through his mind over and over and over again--it would honestly torture him.

I don't think he'd blame the other surgeon unless they made a huge mistake. If he couldn't operate on the MC personally, he would ask only the surgeons he trusted to perform the procedure and they wouldn't be likely to make those kinds of mistakes in the first place. If they did make that kind of catastrophic mistake...well. I wouldn't want to be them.

Lets say a patient in critical condition is brought in (one whose face is so messed up due to the accident they just suffered they're unrecognizable) an a minute or so into the ROs treating them someone says: "Guys... the patient is MC". How would the ROs react? Just watched a ER episode where something similar happened. Also, loved the recent update.

I’ll do it so that the medicine people have a “J Doe” on their service and get told they’re the MC, while the surgery people are called to do a consult on said “J Doe” and get told they’re the MC. 

Eli: “Oh my God. Oh my God. No, no, no--” Would instantly go to the MC’s bedside, propriety be damned. 

Davy: “There’s no way. No.” Wouldn’t believe it until they saw the MC for themselves. 

Jean: Would probably need to sit down because they’re a second from crumpling onto the floor. 

Dr. Grey: Externally he’s calm, but internally he’s screaming, Why them? Why does it have to be them? He’d probably look really pale, with his fists clenched.

Dr. Sloan: For a brief second, you’d see complete horror on her face. She’d compose herself quickly, though. She doesn’t want anyone else to see just how panicked she is.

Jean: I honestly don’t think Jean could perform proper CPR in this situation. They’d probably be sobbing.

Eli: Would definitely not be happy about it and would probably try to persuade the MC to stay. If the MC was declared MIA, they’d probably blame themselves for not trying harder.

Davy: Would let the MC go. They understand that sometimes career comes before a relationship, and they don’t want to hold the MC back from doing what they want to do. If the MC was declared MIA, I feel like Davy would spend a lot of money to find out where they were/confirm their status.

Jean: Wouldn’t stop the MC, but there’d be a lot of worrying/tears/daily phone calls to check if the MC was all right. If the MC was declared MIA, I feel like Jean would just fall apart.

Dr. Grey/Dr. Sloan: They’d both let the MC go, but they’d definitely want to make sure that the MC knew what they were doing and that they had given it serious thought (Dr. Sloan would probably be more abrasive than Dr. Grey in approaching this topic). If the MC was declared MIA, I feel like Dr. Grey and Dr. Sloan would both be in a pretty dark place, with Dr. Grey withdrawing from people around him and Dr. Sloan just throwing herself into her work until she snaps. Good thing they have each other.
