I want nothing more than a running gag of Eddie having an ongoing feud with a new upstairs neighbor. They moved in recently and he tried to be nice and introduce himself, but it’s been nonstop problems ever since.

Constant thuds and loud noises directly above Eddie’s bedroom when he’s trying to sleep after a shift. Chris plays video games a tad too loud and they’re banging on the floor to turn it down. They keep putting their trash in Eddie’s bin. Parking in his spot. Dinner parties that get rowdy right at the time Chris is usually doing his homework. Passive aggressive notes about how loud Eddie’s truck is. Vacuuming at six in the morning on his days off—which he knows is intentional.

And then we finally meet the neighbor and it’s some little old lady. They do not become friends.

She gives him food that she made too much of and he’s sure that she’s taking shots at his cooking skills because she commented on the smell once. He takes a large package up to her front door and she accuses him of attempting to steal it, and will not let it go.

Eddie even busts in and saves her life one day when he hears her fall, and she demands he buy her a new door.

They never become friends.
