The KC Couple - Part 10

A/N: Nothing happened in weeks 6, 7, or 8. We played football. And I have no ideas to make a long part. So this is going to be a collection of weeks. Including week 9 but I have an idea for that part.

Week 6 - 10/12 vs Denver Broncos

Chiefs win 19-8. Making the record 5-1. Travis did not get a touchdown. 

The world was still blowing up about you and Travis announcing you were pregnant. You were currently 22 weeks pregnant. Brittany had thrown your baby shower the past Monday. You had so many things you didn’t know what to do with all of it. Baby K was still undersized. But she was growing, just slowly. Travis’s ankle was fine. 

Week 7 - 10/22 vs Los Angeles Chargers

Chiefs win 31-17. Updated record of 6-1. Travis got a touchdown!!

You had known Justin Herbert through a friend of a friend and was excited to see him in L.A. You, Travis, Justin, and his girlfriend all met for dinner after the game. You were glad to see him and glad the chiefs came out on top. 

Week 8 - 10/29 @ Denver Broncos

Chiefs lose 24-9. Updating the record to 6-2. The Chiefs didn’t score a touchdown…

This was the first time you were generally confused about how the team did not win. Everything in this game went wrong. Pat had the flu, his hands were getting messed up from the air. It had been a mess. The o-line was not helping at all. Travis was getting covered like crazy. 

Week 9 - 11/5 vs Miami Dolphins in Germany

You were in Germany. You and Travis had decided that you would go to Germany with the team. The first time the team went, you didn’t go. You had something come up and wasn’t able to go last minute. You were sitting directly behind the Chief’s bench. Travis had gotten you the tickets. Directly on the 50-yard line. This was the closest you had sat in a while. You normally chose to sit in your suite. Mostly so you stayed out of the Kansas/Missouri weather. 

Everything was going wrong. Miami’s defense was all over Travis. He couldn’t get anything. You could tell Pat was trying to get him the ball but it wasn’t going well. The o-line was letting everyone through. It felt like everytime Pat would throw the ball it was incomplete. The team wasn’t doing anything on third-downs. 

You hadn’t sat down all game. You probably should have but you were to anxious. You watched the final play. Patrick threw the ball towards Trav. Trav got hit by a defender hard. He hit the ground hard. You were nervous. Please be ok. Please be ok. You thought to yourself. Creed Humphrey, the center for the Chiefs, helped Travis up. He seemed ok. You watched the clock run out. The Chiefs had won in Germany 21-14. But Travis had not got a touchdown. 

Travis made eye contact with you. He walked over to you. He looked upset. 

“Hey,” you said.

“Hi, baby girl.”

“You did amazing. I know it wasn’t what we expected but you still did good.”

“The defenders were on me every goddamn play I couldn’t do shit.”

“I know. I’ll meet you downstairs,”

“Ok.”

You leaned down to kiss him. He handed his gloves to two young kids next to you. A teenage girl came up to you.

“Can I take a picture with you?”

“Of course.”

You took the picture and she handed a friendship bracelet to you.

“I wanted to give this to you. It has Travis’s number on it.”

“Awe, thank you.

Time Skip

You met Travis in the family room. He was mad at himself and you could tell. He walked over to you and grabbed your hand. 

“Can we just go back to the hotel?” 

“Yeah, let me say goodbye to Brit then we can leave.”

He nodded his head and you said goodbye to Brittany. 

Time Skip

It had been a long evening. Travis was angry. He took a long shower before snuggling up to you in your bed. 

“You did good today.”

“No, I didn’t.”

“Yes you did. The o-line was not helping defend anyone today. We knew Miami’s defense was good. You can’t control how many people they have covering you. You did what you could with what was given to you.”

You both fell asleep shortly after that.

January 7 - Chiefs v LA Chargers, Sofi Stadium, LA.

Travis arrives at SoFi Stadium

Travis chose not to play giving up the opportunity to reach his 8th consecutive season to achieve 1000 receiving yards. Coach Andy Reid had only praise for Travis’ humble approach to the game and putting the team first (x 2:07)

Chiefs won 13 - 12 against the Chargers. Travis stood on the sideline to support his team. This is the final game of the regular season - now moving onto playoffs.

Golden Globes, LA - Taylor is nominated for Cinematic & Box Office Achievement Award with The Eras Tour film. "Barbie" won this category.

Taylor was joined by Keleigh Teller at the Golden Globe Awards.

Super Bowl 2024 predictions? Or playoff predictions in general?

Bear with me since a lot of stuff will probably change over the course of this offseason (the draft and post June 1 stuff) and age poorly but here are some of my predictions (barring injury):

Obviously, Chiefs will always be in contention, I think their offense is still going to be pretty good without Bieniemy. I can see the AFC West being more competitive this season though the rest of the teams will have to compete for a wildcard spot.

The AFC South is probably the division I feel the most confident in saying that it’s Jacksonville’s to lose, because half the teams there are rebuilding and the Titans are probably on the verge of doing so.

I guess for the AFC I see it being (in no particular order) being: Bills, Bengals, Chiefs, Jags, Dolphins, Ravens, Jets (if they get Rodgers. If not probably the Steelers?). Not a lot of change from last season, I feel kinda bad for leaving the Chargers off of this because I think they'll be better than last season (what no Joe Lombardi does to a mf), but I do wonder if they will inevitably Charger things up and drop a division game or two against like. The Broncos. It happened last season.

And then in the NFC uhh Eagles, 49ers, Cowboys, Lions, Vikings, Giants, Saints, something like that. I think the Vikings will be a better team this coming season, even if their record doesn't indicate it. At the very least their defense should be better coached? But I can also see the Vikings not making it. Idk if bringing Wagner will be enough to improve Seattle's defense, and I'm not sure what the ceiling of that offense is going to be.

(Super Bowl predictions? If everyone's healthy, prepare for a repeat of SBLIV) (The idea of another Chiefs vs. 49ers hurt to type out but sadly I could see it)

01/03/2023 NFL UPDATES

My predictions for last week’s games: (10-5) and forgot to pick for the Bills/Bengals game. This is very Ironic because this game was suspended because there was a very sad event that happened during the game and it was postponed. Bills Safety Damar Hamlin was hit really hard in the chest causing him to go into cardiac arrest. I have never seen anything like this and I was watching it live on TV. They were giving him CPR on the field while he was down for about 10 minutes. They finally got him off the field and to the hospital where his vitals are back to normal but he is still very much in critical condition. The entire NFL community and more have him and his family in our prayers.

Last weeks big games that I brought up did NOT disappoint. The 49ers vs Raiders game was a nail bitter and closer than I anticipated but the 49ers came out on top. So now the Raiders have been fully eliminated from the Playoffs but the 49ers now have a chance to get the #1 seed if they win this week and the Eagles lose. The Packers and Vikings was very one sided, the Packers ran all over the Vikings and came out victorious so they now have a chance to get into the playoffs.

Right now for the AFC the teams that are in the hunt and have a chance of playoffs if they win are the (Dolphins, Steelers & Titans)

For the NFC on the other hand there are only 2 teams in the hunt the (Lions & Packers).
