“How can it still be moving?” Kagome’s voice sounded tiny in her own ears. 
Inuyasha grunted, “It can’t die if it ain’t alive.” The base rumble under his words made Kagome frown, focusing her attention back on his face. “Are you ok?”
“I’m gonna be, when that fucking thing is gone.”
“If you can’t kill it, how are you going to stop it?” She hissed the words. It was getting close again, but painfully slowly now, walking bent in an unnatural angle at the waist, with its hands on the ground like another pair of feet to help it stay upright. “It won’t stop.” Kagome realized, feeling faint. “No matter what you do it will just keep coming back. 
“Gotta rip it to pieces.” Inuyasha replied, cracking the knuckles on one hand. 
“It’s being animated by a spell–” Kagome started, Inuyasha cut her off with a growl– “You fuckin’ think?” The corpse, as if hearing them, suddenly jerked upright and stood straight. Kagome screamed, and It turned to grin at them with its lose jaw. 
The purple shine in the left eye was suddenly so bright it was visible even across the distance. “It must be from the spell,” she muttered, cringing back behind Inuyasha. 
“What must be from the spell?” Inuyasha shot back, crouching to attack. 
“The shimmer.” Kagome replied, surprised, “That light. In her eye.”
