Chainsaw Man Chapter 113 Thoughts

What was originally supposed to be a one day break became two days, but it was needed to a degree. This chapter does kick off the beginning of Volume 14 which hasn’t exactly ended quite yet, and that makes things interesting in terms of the narrative. What is there that can be said regarding the way Tatsuki Fujimoto brings the readers into after concluding the last chapter?

Truth be told, Asa fixes up her hairstyle to make herself standout on the first date experience, but then quickly decides to keep it at the original look. Yoru comments about how there wasn’t much substance when it comes to her appearance and it could more flair. They both have discussions about the perfect way to seduce a guy, One is based off on the basis of appearance while the other thinks otherwise. What the person truly feels on the inside is the thing that’s most important.

An immediate transition occurs with Asa and Denji already in the middle of their date at the Aquarium which is something. They are both looking at starfishes which is where Asa info dumps all the facts that she knows about them to Denji, but he isn’t exactly interested. He’s rather bored about the whole information the knowledge Asa has because it felt very textbook based, and because Denji just wants to see penguins. They have clashes about the plan that was set for the day according to Asa which prompts Denji to take off so he could find the penguins on his own without her. Main reason being is that Denji has begun to tackle things for himself.

Yoru steps back into the picture to ask Asa why she isn’t pursuing Denji for running off like that, and she likes to belive her stances weren’t wrong. From a certain perspective when it came to the plan that was set in place, but Yoru pointed out that could’ve been because Asa is a total bore. That instantly sets off another argument between the two once more about the situation at hand only for a certain character to reappear into the picture. The same one who assisted Asa and Yoru in saying Yuko after the battle was over on their end.

This student refers to Denji as someone who doesn’t know from right or wrong, but also knows that Asa isn’t someone who can’t change a person into a weapon. When asked about who this student was and how she knew so much about Asa’s powers everything started to come into place. This student from the devil hunter’s club was none other than Yoru’s older sister, The Famine Devil aka Fami. Yoru attempts to persuade Asa not to trust anything Fami says, but before a chance was even made she was temporally taken away. The simple reason was to ensure that Asa turns Denji into a weapon otherwise she isn’t leaving the Aquarium.

Finally, Denji makes his back to her in order to discuss about the size of the place not exactly being massive. No matter how far he was able to walk, Denji just couldn’t simply get out. That left Asa rather speechless while sweating due to the very thing Fami mentioned. Denji also complained about a certain someone making an appearance at the aquarium bringing a close to the chapter.

All in All, this chapter of Chainsaw Man gets Amazing+ rating. I liked how we didn’t really waste any time for the date between Asa and Denj. Only a quick moment with Asa prepping to see how she’d look until we get to the sight. I love the absolute meta commentary Tatsuki Fujimoto addresses with how the date is taking place in terms of things feeling stale, and implementing that through Denji’s character. This makes for a really engaging read while allowing he readers to feel connected to the situation. The real highlight for this chapter was getting the identity of “the student” being Yoru’s older sister, The Famine Devil aka Fami. That opened up to so many different possibilities on how this series was gonna go and especially correlating it to where we are lately. I can definitely feel the sensation of being up to date to the latest chapter. It won’t be too long now, and that’s all I gotta say for the time being. The next chapter thoughts for Chainsaw Man will be up soon but until then, I hope you all take care of yourselves out there.
