fuck you kill yourself dry swallowing pills is literally so easy dumbass
It's not about easy, my friend. Dry swallowing pills over time can cause bleeding and burn a hole in your esophagus. At the very least, they can get stuck or severely irritate your esophagus. It's dangerous, and the way that's its extremely normalized in movies and shows is also dangerous.

One thing that's driven me against capitalism has been watching my sister have to move back in with our mom (which is a Not Great Situation for a lot of reasons - including the fact that she's effectively been forced to choose between living with her stepfather and being homeless with two kids). She's a pharmacy technician in her early forties (ie she can compound medicine, college trained and certified). Why the fuck does a career that requires a college certification not pay enough to support her. Why the fuck is she making barely above minimum wage. It makes me livid.
Everyone deserves a comfortable life. Nobody should have to be going through what she's going through right now. And I'm including so-called 'unskilled' labor too, not just situations like my sister's. I mean everyone.

The male pharmacy technician who looks like the giant in Twin Peaks with manicured nails in the past month has sold 4 prescriptions to the wrong people. Like different birthdates and addresses. He gave a bladder relaxant to someone looking for their anti depressant. The pharmacist asked him to be more careful :
And he says “well you do something so often you’re bound to make a mistake, I just didn’t look at the (central fulfillment) bags”
This motherfucker isn't even certified because he waited too long to register for a test and now he has to pay out of pocket.
He could have killed several people.
WHY HAVE THEY NOT FIRED HIM???

Get To Know Me Tag
Thank you so much @befuddledcinnamonroll for tagging me! I really enjoy these tag games to learn about each other!
Do you make your bed?
Sometimes yes, but by that I mean I half fold/half bundle up the sheets and toss them on top of my pillow. So no, not really 😅
What's your favorite number?
Never really had one, but I like when things can be evenly split, so even numbers and groups of five are satisfying 👌🏽
What is your job?
I’m currently a certified pharmacy technician. I used to be the manager but I had to step down when I went back to school cause I couldn’t be full time anymore.
If you could go back to school, would you?
Here I go with my long winded answers again 😅
If we’re talking go back in time to when I was younger and in school then yes. I fear I peaked in high school, and with my current knowledge of life I’d do so many things differently.
If we’re talking go back to school now for a career change, that’s what I’m currently doing. I’m not using my first degree, so I’m in school to be an X-ray technologist and I hope to move up to CT or MRI afterwards.
If we’re talking go back to school now just for funsies, then yes again. I love languages and wish I could properly learn so many! I took Italian in college which I picked up pretty easily cause it’s so similar to Spanish (my first language), ma capisco più che parlo. Non ho nessuno con cui praticare.
Can you parallel park?
Yes but I get so nervous about hitting other cars 🙈 I’d prefer not to do it.
A job you had that would surprise people?
I think what’s most surprising is that I’ve only ever had one real job. I’ve done volunteer and community work, and some research stuff but a formal wage-paying job I’ve only had one of. I’ve had many position changes within that job, though.
Do you think aliens are real?
I don’t rule out the possibility of advanced life on another planet but I’m also not thinking about it on the regular.
Can you drive a manual car?
Definitely not lol. I didn’t learn to drive until I was 26 😬 and I’m turning 29 this year…
What's your guilty pleasure?
Honestly it’s BLs, cause of the stigma around it. But if I’m around strangers I can talk about it! I met so many nice BL fans at an event back in February. It’s just hard to find people who get it.
Anything else though, I’m loud and proud! Haters to the left! 💁🏽‍♀️
Tattoos?
I’ve always wanted one! But I’m so indecisive on what to get! There is this one design I really want but then I think about it and I’m like “but where to place it???” 😭
Favorite color?
Green!!! But also purple and white
Favorite type of music?
I listen to a lot of different genres but I like pop music the most. Of course I’m into Kpop, and I love an 80’s synth sound!
Do you like puzzles?
Omg yes, I love brain teaser-type puzzles! I do the daily NYT games whenever I can and I love trivia shows and riddles and problem solving games! So fun!
Any phobias?
I’m scared of heights but I can be brave sometimes. I really don’t like slimy things like slugs and snails or boogers.
Favorite childhood sport?
I love swimming! I was actually on my high school swim team! I did the IM which is all strokes but I also did the Butterfly 🏊🏼‍♀️ and my team started the school’s synchronized swimming team too! 🙆🏽‍♀️🌊
Do you talk to yourself?
All the time! But who doesn’t? And to my pets and stuff too.
What movies do you adore?
I used to love going to the movies but I haven’t been back much since covid. And I don’t really seek out older movies to watch. But I love romance so stuff like Pride & Prejudice and Fools Rush In. And my family loves Disney so Tarzan, and The Incredibles are my faves! We rewatch a lot of Disney films all the time.
Coffee or tea?
I very much enjoy tea but I seldom drink it. I should change that 🤔 and I’m unfortunately chronically tired and need coffee to survive 😞 but I don’t get the complex drinks, just a regular coffee, 2-3 cups a day.
First thing you wanted to be growing up?
Uhh idk really. My answer was always changing, I never had a *dream* career 🤷🏽‍♀️
Not sure who hasn’t been tagged but I’d love to read your responses! No pressure though!

Yall get a long one today because i guess i never told the first one on here before.
I used to be the Dept Manager over the otc pharmacy at my workplace and now I'm a nationally certified Pharmacy Tech at the same workplace. I make like 7 more dollars an hour for a MUCH easier job. It's great. My boss is cool as hell. Most of my coworkers are rad af.
Back when i was a DM:
Cust:what's the difference between rubbing alcohol and isopropyl alcohol?
Me, just googled this like a week prior because i was curious: well, all of the rubbing alcohol we sell is actually just isopropyl alcohol, so there's not one.
Cust: then why do they say rubbing alcohol.
Me: because different manufacturers make the labels differently. You know how Tylenol and acetaminophen are the same?
Cust: you're not smart. You're just a smartass.
Me: ok whatever. (this apparently upset her, and she demands i go get my manager, who conveniently was doing busy work like 4 aisles away, it's rare but they do work sometimes!)
Manager asks whats up and she poorly reiterates all that shit^ and he says, is2g, "you know how tylenol and acetaminophen are the same? It's like that"
She comes in a month or so later and tries to bypass me to call for the manager at the pharmacy, but they paged me. She goes "they made you a manager? Oh my god." to which i muscle memory respond "oh your god" she calls for a manager, i fuck off.
All that was like 3 years ago, right before the pandemic. She showed up last week and asked to speak to a TECHNICIAN (our cashier is a rank lower at pharmavy assistant and just won't cut it. I've been inside the pharmacy for 2 years at this point. So i stand up and offer to help. She asks for a thing i had never seen, because i stopped working out there to be a tech, and she just starts yelling about how she's gotten it here and blah blah blah and storms off. She came back ten seconds later holding the item.
BITCH IF YOU KNEW WHERE IT WAS WHY'D YOU EVEN ASK?

It's cool that Pharmacy's act as a free medical advice center, so people can avoid an expensive doctor visit for something simple and can be taken care of over the counter, but people need to understand that the technicians aren't the ones to get advice from. You ask the pharmacist for that stuff. Some states don't even require tech's to be certified or college educated. They're just a tiny step above the burger flipper working an otherwise pretty simliar job (receive the order, make the order, but run it through insurance in between and don't grab french fries when the order says tater tots because you might kill someone). I've had people abruptly and without warning show me grotesque skin issues, injuries, and talk about their genitalia issues and I'm like nope nope wrong person. One coworker told me she had a patient aburptly pull her pants down to show something on her butt. Wtf?

"i was a pharmacist technician for ten years therefore i know exactly what im talking about when it comes to pharmaceuticals" im sorry, how long do pharmacists go to school? what exactly is it that pharmacists have to do that differentiates their job from that of a technicians? because i'm pretty sure it's a LOT lol
While the work may have changed since I was a pharmacy technician, but when I was a pharmacy technician starting in 1998 I was responsible for entering prescriptions into the computer system, managing insurance issues, calling doctors to verify medications, strengths of said medications, and directions, counting and verifying the accuracy of my counts, preparing compounded medications that weren't available premanufactured, identifying interactions and flagging potentially harmful ones, maintaining records of the work I performed, and consulting patients on how to operate blood glucose monitors, breast pumps, and other medical devices. I was a nationally certified pharmacy technician, which required me to learn how to calculate concentrations of medications, the amount of specific medications to prepare compounded medications, and drip rates for IVs. The pharmacists I worked with verified my work and signed off on it to vouch for my accuracy and consulted patients about their medications.
I figure you intended this question to suggest that I am ignorant about pharmaceuticals to cast doubt upon my post about gender-affirming therapies.
The reason I answered this is to prove to those who view my blog that people like you will always impugn the knowledge people who have actually studied certain topics relating to transgender folks just so you can feel superior to others. I believe you'll find that no one cares what you think, especially when you make it apparent that you don't know what you're talking about.
I'll turn the question around on you and ask what your qualifications are. If you're not in the medical field with a direct relationship to the generation or filling of prescriptions, you can kindly choke on your words and learn some humility.
Eat my entire ass.

If you’re using your face to block punches, you’re doing it wrong.
STATS.
NAME: Billie Vasquez-Hind Man GENDER & PRONOUNS: two-spirit & they/he AGE: 41 OCCUPATION: Buddies Owner AFFILIATIONS: Civilian FACECLAIMS: Tatanka Means
ABOUT.
Billie Vasquez-Hind Man was born in Heart Butte, MT, to Rita Vasquez and Lee Hind Man. The couple welcomed a second child, Araceli, two years later.
Billie never did particularly well in school. He struggled to fit in, and got in a trouble a lot. When he was a child, that trouble was mostly talking too much. When he reached his teens, it was excessive absences, talking back, and being the class clown. His poor performance in high school led to him dropping out and being sent to the Montana Youth Challenge Academy. He was able to get his GED while in attendance there, even though he continued to get himself in trouble for clowning around.
College treated him better than high school. He enrolled at MSU and majored in Environmental Horticulture. He had ambitions to return to his community and do some kind of good with his degree. He didn’t have the opportunity to do this. His father died shortly after he graduated, prompting his mother to sell everything that they owned and move out of Heart Butte. Because he often struggled to feel like he belonged outside of his family, Billie decided to move with her – thinking a fresh start might help all of them in one way or another.
When they arrived in Oxbow Ridge, Billie set about getting a job to help support them while they figured out what they were going to do. He got certified as a Pharmacy Technician, intending to work in the little town, but ended up working at a big box retailer over an hour away instead. While he was working, his mother was scouting out properties and store fronts with the intention of opening a business of her own. She finally settled upon an old, run down, gas station. Rita used every bit of her savings to renovate the gas station and opened up the “Oxbow Ridge Trading Post” a year later. Billie quit his job to help Rita and Araceli run the business. Billie had been, naturally, getting into trouble at the store anyways. The Oxbow Ridge Trading Post reflected Rita’s desire to make her business indispensable to the community they’d settled in. It was a gas station and convenience store, with several pumps and the expected road trip snacks. It was also a trading post style gift shop that would have been a perfect little tourist trap… if Oxbow Ridge ever had tourists. The gas station was, at least, a success. The family settled into a routine and rhythm for close to two decades. Rita’s health suddenly declined, and she moved back to Heart Butte to be closer to her sisters and the rest of the family. Araceli followed after her a few months later. Billie found himself alone, running what had been a family business.
When Rita and Araceli moved, Billie had to reduce the hours to what he could work alone. That cut into the profits that the business was able to generate – and how much money he was able to send to help his mother with housing and medical expenses. He found himself researching how he could make the business profitable and came across the idea of opening a dispensary and becoming a grower. After months of dithering and talking about it, he decided to just go for it and applied for a loan and the licenses he’d need. A short time later, the Oxbow Ridge Trading Post was being renovated – again. Billie also used some of the loan money to buy some land and build a greenhouse. “Buddie’s Dispensary” was born and officially opened as a part of the Oxbow Ridge Trading Post. He thought that “Buddie’s” was a good play on words but the name of the business has resulted in him sometimes being called “Buddie” instead of “Billie” by folks that miss the word play.
Billie is the kind of outgoing person that “everyone” knows. He’s friendly and prone to telling over-the-top stories. Because of his tendency to tell stories and deflect conversations back onto the person he’s talking to rather than himself, it can feel hard to actually get to know Billie. He rarely talks about himself in a serious fashion, and when he does it is hard to tell if what he’s saying is true or not. He continues to struggle with feeling like he doesn’t fit in, and has always found that people like him more when he’s making them laugh.
