hello! i newly figured out i am intersex, however i haven't been able to find much content talking about intersex experience, history or community, when i first realized i was queer originally i found a lot of content like that and found it helpful, and i was wondering if there's any recommendations you might be willing to give about any content on being intersex or intersex creators who you think people should know about!

Hey!

This ask honestly made me really happy, because when I was searching for people and resources to share with you, I realized how much stuff has been created in the past 5 years. When I was diagnosed as intersex, I felt like there was so much less stuff than there even is now, so it makes me really happy to know there is more stuff, even if it's still hard to find.

Some of the things I've put on this list are outdated or might include perspectives that I don't completely love, but might include important historical context. It is also a very US centric and English language centric resource, although I have linked to organizations in other countries and would love if people added on recommendations to intersex resources in a variety of languages. As always, take what resonates with you and leave behind the rest!

Tagged by @generic-sonic-fan to do a wip folder dive! But I got distracted from the task oops.

I keep all my stuff unsorted in notes on my phone, because I found that taking away the barrier to writing (e.g. my heavy computer) helped me to just do bits and bobs, here and there. Most of my fics have been written on the train to work!

But this. This is a name and shame. This is a graveyard. I usually do give things a name, so most of these would be the final title... alas. Still, writing this out has been therapeutic for me, and inspired me to maybe put on my big boy pants and delete some of these.

(Key: likely to be published in some form, may be published with reworking, very unlikely/ dead, n/a)

Self care - a self care day for team dark (shocker!), likely going to be added to another story atp, because its not got enough of a conclusion on its own.

The Maria Celeste chapter 2 - written, but I hate it and I don't think people would like the direction this fic might take.

Road Trip chapter 2 - may be finished and published soon, n.b. it's gotten very trans.

Rarepair week - I was planning to play, but work is crazy around then, then I'm away from home, so probably will miss it.

Bat-bombed - rouge × lanolin. so close to being done, then I was like 'who gives a shit this is so long' and now I'm not so sure as I was that it's any good. Needs a bit of a shake.

(Wood)worm into my heart - belle × amy. This is cringe-cute, I'll sort it out someday.

KnucklesSilver one? - well its... yeah knuckles × Silver, looking at stars and eating bugsm. I'm worried I shouldn't be shipping Silver anymore because he reads so young to me in IDW I feel weird about the fact that I've written a lot of it already with all my espio × silver.

Refuge Company BEANBAGS BOOKS BLINK - shadow × blaze; in bits, going to be in bits if I ever publish it. Beanbags books blink refers to the imagined scene in my head that made me first ever ship these two when I was a child. I'm trying to capture it in a way that doesn't make me feel completely stupid!

Misc

Petal Soft Cont. - Outlined continuation of the Cyber Virus AU that isn't getting done. I wanted to explore Metal and Amy's relationship, how they feel differently about eachother, but I think this situation where Metal is quite madly in love with Amy who sees herself as a caregiver and would not want to romanticise Metal... is maybe a misstep. Not sure who wants to read that. Instead, I may continue the AU by visiting a few other characters effected and park these two.

Second-Place King cont. (And chapters 4 and 5) - this is ditched. I reread my own story and thought 'this reads like two characters who will have ill-advised sex then regret it', and now I don't wanna write it. They are adults in this, but I don't want to write sex scenes, and I'm not sure Fade to Blacks really work in fanfic - people either seem to want sex, or they don't want any of it, and it'd be neither so it's probably never coming back.

Heroism - atp this is the whole mapped out story of a 5 strand game. I've plotted it completely, and written a few scenes, but I really want to write it in script format, and it just won't get read like that, so likely not worth sharing. If I couls make it a graphic novel, maybe?

Robot Therapy: Orbot, Metal Sonic, Omega (court mandated), Metal Sonic Comes Back - these are all roughly pencilled out with their hooks/punches, but not really sure its interesting to anyone but me.

And, for an about me:

Not Sonic:

This Tornado Loves You - the real shame point, because this is a 90% completed and uploaded persona 4 fanfic that I just... dropped. I abandoned it because it was about a toxic coming of age romance which was interesting self-reflection for me at the time, but I'm now not sure if it was really okay to write that. And because of that;

Turning Yellow - the wider story of the above, abandoned for reasons of containing dark ideas. I am in two minds - on one hand, Persona 4 itself contains minors grappling with sexualising themselves and being sexualised, people killing eachother, going into the mind of a killer etc. But on the other hand, I got scared off from writing the protagonists as potentially vengeful and doing cruel and violent things. So the lesbian-murderer revenge fantasy will not be taking place.

Contests (Contesting Friendships when I published one) - Persona 4 folder of silly games they might play, got cancelled because of the above, even though it's not in that AU - I lost my nerve for all of persona while I was thinking that through.

Book Club - fire emblem three houses, basically retelling of white clouds but only taking place in a fictional bookclub that meets once a month. I'm scared that it's a huge cast and every character has to be exactly as written, and if I'm inaccurate it'll wreck the whole thing, so I keep restarting.

I do - fire emblem three houses. Wedding traditions. I wrote a whole powerpoint of different regional wedding tradition headcanons, and sometimes write stories to go with them. Likely never to be published, but I may put up the Hapi × Constance one someday.

Originals:

Somnos - Script, enormous. Coming of age, kids-save-the-world etc. Heavily influenced by how much persona had my whole heart as a teen. Its only about 50 pages of stuff I like right now, and it will be really long, because it would be a series of maybe hour long episodes (40 pages in script is about 40 minutes of screen time)

Kinship - a cartoon script thats got 1 season half written and the other half planned out and 2 more roughly sketched but not individual episodes nailed down. Also my dissertation from uni back when, always in my heart. Max, a little robot and literally self-made man, goes on a world adventure to try to find people like him. It's just a cute playground for me.

This isnt even including the ideas that don't have their own page/ folder yet 🥴 I swore I'd never be this sort of writer!

Celeste was born and raised in Dol sol valley by her Politician father and Food critic mother. After an argument with her parents about her future after high school she decided to move across the world (Not to strangville in question). The van that she was driving broke down in the middle of Strangerville when she was 20 years of age. She was stranded with only 400$ dollars to spare (that she saved up from work), so she decided to live in a rundown motel. A family offered to put gas in her van after she told them her life story. Once they were done, she wanted to explore stranger Ville. Celeste ran into a bar/club not too far from the motel. The bar/club was playing her favorite song, so she started dancing. The bar owners loved her personality and offered her a job as an entertainer for them. She accepted at a price; they help her find a good place to live. Ever since then she has been headlining the most popular club/bar in Strangerville(and only one actually). But there's one problem…she's deadly single and lonely. Her co-workers have teased her that she shouldn't keep dancing to love songs if she's not looking for anyone. Well, she actually is looking for someone…

Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley’s calming music is popular with gamers and non-gamers alike, created by the sole developer of the game, ConcernedApe. He made the game pretty much all by himself. It’s content rich and has fun gameplay that can extend to months and all the art, music, programming, everything was done by one person. You can see why it’s inspiring.

Minecraft

Created by Daniel “C418” Rosenfeld, Minecraft has an awesome collection of tracks too. It’s unique in a way that unlike most music you hear in video games, it’s pretty much random. Due to how the gameplay works, he couldn’t really makes tracks to fit specific situations, so he had to make general purpose tracks that could play at random intervals. Which is why this meme exists.

An awesome piano track, the most iconic one I think.

Microsoft seems to not want the artists to keep their license to their music that they made, so it seems like they don’t want to work with C418 anymore, which is sad, but we did get this fire (pun intended) track by the awesome Lena Raine, who also worked on Celeste, another prominent indie game and Deltarune, Undertale’s alternate universe sequel(???), yes that’s an anagram.

I don’t presently have any nonbinary characters in the main cast, mostly due to the fact at the time I was concepting this, I wasn’t comfortable enough in my knowledge and research to be confident to write a nonbinary character respectfully.

I’m actively working on it however and have several nonbinary characters set to appear in oneshot novels and short stories and the like, and there’s a high chance as Tethers progresses, and characters leave/join the main cast, I can finally bring on a/several nonbinary character(s).

mike schmidt has a thing for filming.

he’s obsessed with you, sometimes spending time in silence admiring you because he can’t really believe that you’re his. he’s a bit of a loser (affectionate) and an outcast (self afflicted), so he thinks you’re out of his lead. which is why he likes to document your time together as much as he can.

he has a couple of old cameras, just a little under a decade older. they work perfectly fine though, and he always has to take a picture of you with his polaroid or film you for just a few seconds whenever you’re together.

most of the documented content is innocent. you dancing around the kitchen while you help prepare dinner for the three of you (abby is singing in the back of that one). you standing in front of the mirror fixing the final touches on your dallas cowboy cheerleader costume with an infectious grin on your face. you mumbling in your sleep while your head rests on mikes chest.

but a solid amount of the content is mature, hidden away on discs and polaroids and cassettes in a closed box tucked away in a messy corner of his closet.

this content is audio recordings of you begging for mike, your voice high and breathy. he remembers that night, your hands in his hair that was slightly too long at that point. he was between your legs, his mouth just inches away from where you were trying to get him. it felt good for him to have the upper hand in that moment, a cocky smile on his face as he started to bask in the newfound power. it was one of the first times he realized how much he affected you, and he instantly wanted to record it. what the two of you ended up producing was fifteen minutes of you pleading and moaning and borderline sobbing as mike got you off with his tongue.

there’s a few discs, labeled with the date in either of your handwriting (mikes borderline scrawl and your neater script), housing content of mike fucking you slow, thrusts long and deep. he’s usually the one holding the camera, lenses at you as you’re on your knees with pretty doe eyes or above him bouncing and grinding with your eyes pinched closed. there’s some times, though, when you take the camera from him, met with nearly no resistance because these are the hours where he’s limp to your delicious torture. when he’s so wound up that just the first few licks from you has his grip loosening around the object, allowing you turn the lens on him, capturing his rosy cheeks and curly hair sticking to his forehead and his brown eyes watching your every move.

then there’s the polaroids, the only evidence that frequently makes voyages outside of the old shoe box whenever you’re apart. he has pictures of you with your hands over your face, but a smile clear beneath your palms. these were the ones taken first, before you’d gotten into the videos and cassettes. you were shy then, only giving the camera glimpses of your new lingerie set, which was usually the incentive for mike pulling the camera out in the first place. there’s pictures from when you’d gotten more confident, there’s photos of you post-sex, a loopy lopsided smile on your face, arms thrown over the parts that mattered but you were bare otherwise.

then there’s the ones that are completely debauched. the ones he hesitates to take out in fear that he’ll leave them lying around somewhere. his favorite of the small bunch is of you sitting on his bed, legs spread and bent at the knee, palms pressed into the mattress behind you. your pose itself is almost innocent, a grin on your face as you stare at the camera. you’re clothed too, for the most part, wearing underwear that covers what needs to be covered. but it’s the white spurts that paint your skin that makes this particular picture so raunchy. along your chest, in the center of your underwear, and — his favorite spot — all over your pretty little face, breaching into the baby hairs around your face.
