if you’re hearing SUMMER CHILD by CONAN GRAY playing, you have to know CASSIDY SYDNEY (she/they; enby) is near by! the 26 year old STUDENT/PIANO TEACHER has been in denver for, like, 10 YEARS. they’re known to be quite TIMID, but being EMPATHETIC seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble JESSIE MEI LI. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those FINGERS FLYING ACROSS PIANA KEYS, FLOWERS WOVEN INTO BRAIDS, SUMMER DRESSES AND COMBAT BOOTS vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around the LAKERIDGE DISTRICT long enough!
details (tw suicide):
Cassidy never really knew her father. He was more a stranger than anything, a character in their story. Growing up, Cass had always heard that her father was a real estate tycoon or something of the sort who owned properties in various states. Truth be told, Cass didn't really know much about her mom either. She knew her of course, but she didn't know about her. All they knew was that their mother had been married before, that the marriage had ended, and she'd moved to the United States.
When Cass was young, her mother remarried. That was how Ryder Sydney entered her life. Between Ryder and Cass's older sibling, Cass felt safe -- something that was necessary as Ryder's dad was not a nice guy.
About ten years ago, Cass's mom secreted them away to Denver in the dead of night. They bought a small house and never looked back.
For a while, life seemed perfect, or as perfect as it had ever been, but then things fell apart. tw start Cass's mom had been dealing with more than the teenager could've imagined and one day, those demons won. tw end
To keep her from becoming another child lost in the system, their older sibling became their legal guardian. After all, Cass was only a few years away from being an adult themselves.
Cass currently resides in Lakeridge District, in an old broken down house they inherited from their mother and works as a piano tutor and picking up odd jobs where ever she can while attending college.
potential connections:
older sibling (will be a wc on the main)
best friend/friends (she’s lived in denver for over a decade now for their entire life)
flirtationships
enemies
clients (both for piano and babysitting)
any and everything

Min sibling time had been a staple of the Min household for as long as Cassidy could remember. It had started as a way to draw a young Cassidy out of their shell, but had steadily become one of the things she most looked forward to throughout the week. It wasn’t as if Cass didn’t see her older brother on a frequent basis — they lived in the same house, after all —but the time that was specifically devoted to them just hanging out was special. Not that she’d ever say that to him. Toby would never let them live it down if Cass even hinted at the fact that her brother was the most important person in their life.
“Hey Toad,” Cassidy greeted as they plopped on to the couch. She leaned over and flicked him in the center of his forehead. “No offense to your cooking skills, but I ordered pizza. And it’s my turn to choose the movie, so we’re watching Insidious. You’re welcome.”

@nghtdsires : [ risk ] our muses have sex somewhere they might get caught … cassidy & ellie.
“no one’s watching, el-” coy words whispered in to the younger woman’s ear, cassie grinned as she gently caressed the inside of ellie’s wrist, resting in the palm of her other hand. she grinned as she uncrossed her legs, guiding ellie’s hand to her inner thigh. it was dark in the club, and though she was sure they were almost unrecogniseable, the idea of being seen, of being caught, made what they were doing even more depraved. “you can fuck me right here, right now. if you want.”

It was only a matter of time before they ran into one another. Denver was big but it wasn't that big, and Cassidy had been stewing in anticipation. So, it shouldn't have come as a surprise when they finally ran into her ex. "Ronnie," Cassidy greeted, stomach twisting at the sight of Veronica. "I mean, Veronica." The nickname had fallen naturally from their lips, a byproduct of all of the time they'd spent together, but that familiarity had ended with their relationship. "How are you?"

“Ever think about being a ghost,” Cassidy asked. She’d been quiet for a few moments before speaking the words that could only be considered random. Truth be told, she’d considered them frequently over the years. Cassidy’s interests had always moved towards the morbid, but she hid it well under a ready smile and childish humor. Every now and then, though, the morbidity peaked out. “I mean, operating under the assumption that ghosts exist -- it’s worth thinking about, right? Who wants to hang around as a whiny ghost? But I also don’t want to stick around as a wraith. So I guess the only option is to go peacefully in your sleep, but since there’s literally no way to prove it’s actually peaceful, I can’t get on board with that.” Cassidy paused, coughed out a laugh when they realized just how far her thoughts had spiraled. “Anyway, how are you?”
