January 2024 - Beginning of Month Goals
Books I plan to start/finish in January:
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr - 0/531 pages
The Golden Fool by Robin Hobb - 349/632 pages
The Secret of the Old Clock by Carolyn Keene - 100/210 pages
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir - 45/492 pages
'Blind Date' Book, Nobody's Fool by Richard Russo - 0/549
The books I'm reading this month are mostly longer ones, but since I've started most of them prior, I think my expectations are reasonable.
I'm going to listen to The Secret of the Old Clock and All the Light We Cannot See in audiobook form so maybe that'll help me reach my goal?? maybe?? my retention and focus when listening to audiobooks is... not great, but I have several short moments of time dispersed throughout my day that i gotta do something with. so yeah. audiobooks ftw
UHH YEAH LOL WISH ME LUCK. AND ALSO HAPPY NEW YEAR

📖 2024 reading goals
*note: i wrote this before 2024 but didn't realize i was shadow banned. hence the reason i am speaking as if 2024 is in the future*
i've decided i wanted to start posting about how my reading is going so here we are :)
i have been kind of in and out of reading ruts this year and am hoping to cultivate more consistency and motivation. with 2024 approaching, everything seems so fresh and exciting which in turn is making me look forward to this years reading!
the plan here is to lay out some of my goals and make monthly updates to keep me on track. will i stick with it??? who knows! but it at least should be fun while it lasts :D
My 3 primary goals of 2024:
DNF the books that you are just not enjoying (this is more of a concept i want to remember rather than a "goal")
Read the first book of every fantasy series on my TBR that i haven't started yet (there are 8 as of right now) nvm LOL I scratched that idea. in 2024, I would like to focus on finishing some series that i started, before I get to those fantasy series I haven't started (Tawny Man, Gentleman Bastard, and Mark Renton). I know if I read every un-started fantasy series I'll take like 5 years to get to the next book, and won't get around to finishing my current series. So it's probably better this way.
Read the 10 wrapped books (aka "blind date" books) from my shelf (more on that here)
these three goals don't cover every one of my goals for next year, but I don't want to overwhelm myself. I really am hoping to at least mostly complete each of these. for example, if i read 8/10 of my wrapped books, that's a win to me.
excited to see what this year brings!!
