The take that Aphmau, as a character, sucks for not picking Garroth or Laurance is a very bad and misogynistic one.

They did not "owe" her her love just because they did their jobs of protecting her.

The narrative that a guy "owes" a woman's love is a misogynistic one, and an excuse for many misogynistic crimes.

The scene in which Cadenza confronts Aphmau about Laurance in mcd season 2 is bad. It's Cadenza's worst scene. It's misogynistic. Cadenza would be a girl's girl.

In the scene, Cadenza 'calls Aphmau out' for not giving Laurance a chance. For not returning his love after he has sacrificed himself for her and put his life on line in order to protect her. That he's a "nice guy" who always thinks of others.

She says that Laurance should stop "playing nice". And that Aphmau is being unreasonable.

Basically, talking as if Aphmau owes Laurance her love. This whole scene reeks of misogyny and nice guy rhetoric.

It is incredibly out of nowhere, and nothing about Cadenza indicates she would say something like this from what we have otherwise seen. And I don't like the way I've seen it get shifted into a good thing she did.

Also, Laurance disagreeing with her is just the decent thing to do?? As Aphmau doesn't owe him any romantic love and pretending like she does is misogynistic.

While we're on the subject.

Aphmau didn't search for Laurance because the plot needed it. The plot needed him there. It's bad writing. Not because she doesn't care.

And IF you're going to take this literally and claim Aphmau doesn't care, you should not play the bad writing card when Laurance messes up. I am sick and tired of the narrative only being bend to benefit Laurance (or other male characters).

Tldr; If c!Aphmau has 3 fans I am one of them. If c!Aphmau has 0 fans I am dead.

i’m back with more Laurance food for myself and my fellow zvahlers

- fav fruit: tangerine. once Nana got her hands on some from a merchant, and she made tarts. knowing laurance loved the fruit, she brought him one. he lost his fucking mind over it.

- his eyes/eyebrows are very expressive.

- such sassy banter with Lucinda. they’re besties

- forever views Dante as his younger brother.

- i have this idea that all sks are sort of united by one hive sense—that being an open/active nearby portal. i like to think that if one is opened, all earthly shadow knights within a certain reach might experience a sort of burst of magnetic pain, located generally in the head but also near their “death scar” (scar of the final injury sustained before death). until that portal is closed or destroyed, the nearest knights could navigate their way to it without any input other than its energy.

- contrary to popular expectations, this man loves cold weather. meteli was always hot and humid, and the nether… was the nether. so, he finds the cold to be a nice contrast. once pelted Katelyn with a snowball. war ensued.

- the only people who have seen him cry/he has allowed himself to cry around are Cadenza (ofc) and Zoey (post nether. whether he knew she was there or not was unknown. he was awfully quiet about it) Vylad has too, but Laurance doesn’t know this.

^^please for the love of god somebody write him finally breaking down in front of somebody i need it (i am rolling around in my straight jacket and typing this with my nose)

I head canon that after cadenza was turned into a chicken, she couldn’t look at cooked chicken or any meal with chicken in it the same again. Like she just gets an odd feeling if it’s served to her and she doesn’t know why.

She also used to have an allergy to feathers but after being turned and turned back her allergy went away, or she gained the allergy after being turned and turned back. One of the two.

Surly turning into a chicken for a while can’t just happen and have no after effects. There’s gotta be some things that get messed up
