Episode Digest:
I gotta say, in spite of my frustration and my backseat TTRPGing, I love the fact that this is continuing. Lucien was allowed to Monologue, we got hints that a PART OF HIM, the PART THAT WAS ONCE MOLLY was, in fact, alive. It’s in there, and it’s stopping him from killing them.
Something tells me that it’s not the same as Molly being... in there... it’s more like a leftover ghost, a phantom limb of attachment, a feeling that these people ARE his friends. And that hurts all the more.
Now we’re in the Astral Sea. Good news? We did not need to use spells to get here. Bad news? We are almost out of all the other spells. No one got a long rest. And something tells me they won’t be getting one.
As for the T-Dock discussion...
I find it fucking fascinating, and also wonder if it will be at all addressed later. It feels like The Big Test Matt put in front of Caleb at the last leg of his arc, basically giving him everything he desired at the onset - with a bow on top, Essek, who can actively HELP accomplish these goals, and could be convinced to be an active aid - and is baiting him into taking the swipe.
Instead, Caleb actually turned away - for now. He turned away FOR THE TIME BEING, knowing there’s other things at hand. And we KNOW that he can prioritize.
But what about..... .after?
I’m now eagerly wondering if they address it in-game or if Liam and Matt literally just left this giant ass mousetrap sitting there for future one-shots and just went :) “Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. Who can say?”
(Don’t tell me the answer to this, this is a rhetorical question y’all. I wanna watch it on my own.)
