anyways now the true shrimp thought of the day that isn't me having self esteem issues: People who read 小蘑菇 as too politically right are reading it with the assumption that the continuation of the human race IS what is desirable.

#this is in response to the many 读后感 I've seen of lofter and specifically @ IdoRingo's meta which I wholeheartedly disagree with #does humanity survive at the end of the book? arguably yes #was it a grand victory? #not at all #was it worth it? #lu feng feels absolved yes. an zhe gets his happy ending #does not mean that the cost of it was alright #Yes. the northern base persisted the longest #the virgina base and underground base which were not so ready to do away with the dignity of a person were wiped out or needed to be rescue #but not the point? the point was THAT their call for help was heeded AND that they returned the favor #also something something an zhe's spore wasn't his spore at all so it wasn't about the continuation of one's species anyways #but about being alright with yourself in a wrecked and merciless uncaring world maybe? idk #not a fully formed thought yet #enough thoughts for today #also obligatory disclaimer that i read the book during ungodly hours of the day and have not reread any passages #but truly do not think that the message of the book is 人类利益高于一切 #love sharing my thoughts with the void that is little mushroom readers!!!! #mushroomposting
