hi what is lds?

it's shorthand for "latter day saint" as in "church of jesus christ of latter day saints" which is one heck of a mouthful lol. you might have also heard this church be called "mormons".

I was born and raised LDS. I still go to church because I've made friends in my local congregation, and I happen to live in a very liberal area, which means a lot of the church members in my age group are way less conservative than their parents and grandparents.

It's not always easy, being a queer christian in a church that's pretty well known for being conservative and not queer friendly. I know a lot of folks who have left the church and I support that choice. My family and my local friends are all very supportive allies, so I feel more comfortable and safe in my congregation than I might feel in, say, the middle of Utah.

I try to avoid religious discourse, because it can get pretty heated lol, so I don't really talk about church on tumblr. My relationship with religion is my own personal business and no one else's. I put it in my bio so other LDS folks will notice and be like "oh hey, I'm in that community too". That's all.
