what if i throw away the entire plot i have and instead write about a sci-fi workplace comedy instead

#the Current plot is a sci-fi coming of age story but it's annoyingly grimdark #and i wanna write something I'll actually enjoy #but a collection of tropes unfortunately unfortunately. does not maketh a plot #can u tell people of earth is living rent free in my brain #that and piranesi are my favorite works this year and i really want to write something that captures the same Bizarre vibe #but also im getting sick of sci-fi... sci-fi is just real life but fancier and less boring. i wanna write about magic systems and dragons #workplace comedy but with dragons #altho that might just be d&d. #i m just #Annoyed cause i had a WHOLE plot almost and im so bad at those #and i liked it! #but i dont wanna write it if its not going to have Any humor #and like i can add humor but idk if that fits the general vibe #altho. i did find a scrap of writing from like a year ago that had a similar plot but with dark humor #and that was both fun to write AND fun to read so i could somehow integrate that into my story but. it was full of nonsense characters #but maybe nonsense characters are FUN #idk i hate this #i cant do shit without deadlines #which is why nanowrimo is great but then there's Pressure with it #i wanna be prolific sooo badly #i hate sitting around #and like jan 2021 i wrote 50000+ words #(once again because of external validation. there was a contest and the more you wrote the more entries you got to win stuff. #i unfortunately did not win but i did improve SO much #and also i had like twice as many works as other people #) #every day i do nothing but ramble #wish i could like. convince someone to mail me a treat every 10000 words #that would be incredibly motivating #and like i could do that to myself but my brain does this thing where I Cannot delay gratification
