85 - Laios and co find Falin in the tower, Marcille drowning in desires but the strongest one is for DRAMA (Chilchuck’s family)

86 - monsters will not listen to Marcille’s stop, sealing the bookhand demon, How do I stop being a dungeon lord?, Laios offers to defeat the demon and resurrects Mithrun on that alone so he signs off on eating Falin

ah the other adventure group is introduced (Kabru & co) - and they aren't a very experienced group

seems that most adventure groups are going through shit: missing people, disputes, money issues etc

Kabru mentions that the dungeon layout is shifting and that something strange is happening - guessing it has to do with the red dragon activity

I think the fight between Laios and Shuro is so interesting because. Shuro is a hypocrite. He is pushing himself, concerning his family all for this one girl. But it’s like he doesn’t truly know Falin because yes, she is incredibly kind and incredible, but she is exactly like her brother in “weirdness.”

She was a social outcast when she was a child because she could see ghosts, do magic, even though currently (in the anime I’m an anime only so far) it seems like this is a bloodline related thing if Laios has only awakened his ghost abilities via tripping on mana sickness. When they’re kids Laios basically says fuck this village we can stick together they just don’t understand you.

She was a social outcast in magic school, being seen as weird and playing in the dirt. When she was only experiencing school in her own way that she could. She is an autistic weird girl too. As an adult she is carefully holding a bug. Shuro views this in his fantasy that she’s just kind and incredible. She could never be like her brother. They’re on different wavelengths but they are also on the same wavelength. Either he sees past her autistic traits or she’s just incredibly good at masking unlike Laios in her adulthood.

I'm still thinking of "Falin as autistic manic pixie dream girl" and the idea of people who grew up at autistic girls being forced to repress themselves to appear tolerable and like.

It's starting to hit the bioessentialism stink I've smell when we try to categorize transphobia as clean TME/TMA behavior and it doesn't even read as particularly true to me either. There's a lot of tangled knots of thought in there so imma just focus on this

In the anime, we have already seen Falin as a child, both with her family and Laios when her magical ability manifested for the first time and then later, in magic school with Marcille. In both flashbacks, Falin is quieter, off putting but not in a way that gets into people's space unless she feels the need to assert herself (telling Marcille to leave the slime alone, the villagers how to help the ghost). Especially compared to her brother, Falin is just a quieter, more introverted person, and that's not necessarily a sign of masking.

Don't get me wrong. She was put through emotional abuse. In the manga, we see after Laios ran away that her mother tried so many ways to "cure" her daughter. This was not done with ill intent and in fact the stress that Falin was cursed made Mama Touden physically ill. Falin understands that, but it doesn't diminish the very real harm done to her.

But that doesn't erase her behavior pre- abuse and it doesn't change her behavior that we see while at school and when she interacts with Laios and the others before getting taken by Thistle.

She's a weird off putting woman with an interest in bugs and the dead. She seriously considered working as a grave keeper before Laios came along and was such a mess she felt compelled to help him cause she knew no one else would.

Idk a couple years ago I probably would've been in the same boat as everyone else but now? It really feels icky to me to shallowly paint her with the same brush. If people find her relatable that's good! But as someone who is autistic adjacent and has more introverted tendencies naturally, and was raised as a girl, I get the ick.

See, I said that this show might be hiding something darker. Why is the dungeon shifting? Why are monsters more active? Like what's going to happen...hmm? Again, if all the treasure had already been looted why is there more?

Oh no, they died! What happened? Oh...so the treasures were actually monsters. Interesting! Haha, Marcille panicked and just stunned everyone...I love that! To be honest, I probably would do that too. I wonder if the sword is going to affect Laios? Anyway, they gonna eat treasure bugs?

Okay, I'm not about eating bugs but to be honest that sandwich looked really pretty and good.

I can't believe he didn't tell them they were real gems before they threw them away omg! Cute that Laios named his little bug friend sword now.

Falin seems like a really nice person. It's fascinating she was able to just talk to the ghost and get it to leave. Now, they are fighting about using magic on the ghosts or not lol. Wow, Senshi knows a lot of things.

So they made ice cream from "holy water" and ghost lol. Interesting. Also, poor Laios they misunderstood him. He's not glad his sister is gone he was just trying to think of a positive thing despite the situation.
