Never a Dull Moment
Author: Lopithecus Pairing: Evan “Buck” Buckley/Eddie Diaz Rating: Teen+ Word Count: 1128 Alternate: AO3 Summary: "He uses his walkie to call down to Bobby. 'Cap, I’m going to have to jump.'
'Negative. At that height, it could kill you,' Bobby’s response comes through the line.
Eddie coughs frantically. It’s getting harder and harder to breathe and looking around him, there’s nowhere to go. The fire is a mere two feet away. 'No choice, Bobby.' Bobby is still talking to him through the radio, he even thinks Buck is trying to talk to him too, but he can’t hear them over the roar of the flames.
So, instead, he jumps."
In which Buck and Eddie are trapped in a burning building and can only escape through the window, multiple stories high
Warnings: N/A Author’s Note: Day 6 for @buddiefirstkissweek. Enjoy! Prompt: Day 6 - Because they think they’re going to die
“Okay,” Eddie says as he closes the door from peeking out into the burning hall. “Definitely not going out that way.”
He turns to Buck who is looking out an open window. “We’re too high for the ladder. We’ll have to descend out with a rope.”
“Is the airbag in place?” Eddie asks as he approaches, squeezing beside Buck to look out the window as well.
“Well, I haven’t told them the plan yet.” Buck reaches for his walkie, relaying his plan to Bobby. Bobby gives the go-ahead and a warning to be careful. They can hear the crackling from outside the door. “Hopefully they get it set up quickly.”
Something behind them groans and when they turn, they have no choice but to watch part of the wall fall apart from the fire. It’s quickly entering the room they are in, creeping closer to them. “I don’t know if we have time to wait,” Eddie coughs. The room has filled with heavy smoke. “You have a rope?”
“Yeah.” Buck grabs it from his side, unhooking it.
“Okay,” Eddie nods. “You go first.”
“What? Eddie no!” Buck protests, trying to hand Eddie the rope. “You should go first.”
“We don’t have time to argue about this.” Eddie yanks the rope out of Buck’s hands and begins to fasten it onto the other man, ignoring Buck’s incessant protests. He can feel the heat on his face now and it’s getting harder to breathe, even with an oxygen mask. He quickly sticks his head back out the window, peering down to where they have the airbag only blown halfway up. “Fuck.” Retreating, he tightens the rope around Buck’s torso. “I already had to use my rope so when you get to the bottom you’re going to have to be quick to get out of it so I can pull it back up.”
“Eddie, I still think you should go before me.”
“Buck, there’s no time to change our minds now!” The fire has gotten dangerously close to them now, surrounding them from all sides. “Just be quick.” He fastens the rope to the floor, praying that it will hold or won’t collapse. “Now go.”
Buck hesitates, lifts his face shield up and pops his oxygen mask off quickly only to do the same to Eddie, before planting a hasty kiss to Eddie’s lips. He arranges their gear back into place, saying to a surprised Eddie, “You’re not dying on me, Diaz.” He then shimmies out of the window and starts making his decent.
Eddie stands there in shock before snapping out of it. This isn’t the time or place to be thinking about what that kiss might have meant. He needs to focus on supporting Buck’s way down. He grabs the rope just in case the floor gives, holding on tightly. The progress is slow, slower than Eddie is comfortable with. The fire is right at his back now, the flames loud in his ears as he tries to lean through the window to get clean air and watch Buck.
Eventually, Buck does reach the end. However, Eddie’s run out of time and can’t wait for Buck to get out of the rope. He uses his walkie to call down to Bobby. “Cap, I’m going to have to jump.”
“Negative. At that height, it could kill you,” Bobby’s response comes through the line.
Eddie coughs frantically. It’s getting harder and harder to breathe and looking around him, there’s nowhere to go. The fire is a mere two feet away. “No choice, Bobby.”
“Eddie don’t-”
Eddie doesn’t bother listening any further. He squeezes through the window, grateful for the cleaner air against his face, before maneuvering his body so he can jump. Bobby is still talking to him through the radio, he even thinks Buck is trying to talk to him too, but he can’t hear them over the roar of the flames.
So, instead, he jumps.
In mid-air, he kicks his legs up so he’s lying on his back. Then, he crosses his arms over his chest and prepares for impact. The first thing he feels as he lands on the airbag is pain through his back and head. It’s a hard landing, he won’t deny that, but it’s certainly better than the pavement. The next thing that registers are voices calling his name, specifically Bobby’s and Buck’s.
“Eddie!” There are hands pulling him away from the center of the airbag and he groans at his now sore back. “Eddie!”
Eddie opens his eyes to see Buck looking down at him in worry. “Hey.”
A relieved sigh leaves Buck’s mouth, the corners threatening to pull up in a smile, as he helps Eddie to sit up. Hen and Chimney come crowd around him. “Get him to the ambulance so we can check him out,” Hen states, placing a hand on his elbow to guide him away from the airbag.
As he sits on the step of the ambulance to let Chimney and Hen look him over, Buck paces in the back, worrying his bottom lip between his teeth. When he’s given a full bill of health except to expect some serious bruising in the morning and slight concussion, Eddie stands and approaches his anxious friend. “Hey, I’m alright,” he tries to reassure.
“You’re an idiot,” Buck says, stopping in front of Eddie. “You could have died.”
“But I didn’t.” He shrugs. “Besides, I would have died if I had stayed in that building.”
“That’s why you should have gone first!”
“And have you almost die?” Eddie scoffs. “No thank you. You already do enough of that.” Buck is frowning at him and Eddie isn’t sure what to do to make him feel better. Sighing, Eddie continues, “Look, there’s nothing we can do about it now. We both survived so let’s just… move on.”
Buck is looking at him strangely and Eddie doesn’t expect it when Buck steps into his space, gently places both hands on the side of his face, and kisses him softly. It doesn’t last long, just a slight tender press of mouths together, before Buck is pulling away and leaning his forehead against Eddie’s. His eyes are closed as if he doesn’t want Eddie to see the emotion in them.
“I can’t lose you, Eddie,” Buck mumbles quietly. “Chris and I… we can’t lose you.”
Eddie’s hands automatically come up and wrap around Buck’s shoulders, pulling the man closer and into a hug. “You didn’t. You won’t.”
Buck squeezes him and holds onto him for a long time, refusing to let Eddie go. Eddie’s not about to complain and instead hold Buck just as tightly. After all, he likes the feel of being in Buck’s arms and if he’s being quite honest, he can’t lose Buck either.

Triple Dog Dare
Author: Lopithecus Pairing: Evan “Buck” Buckley/Eddie Diaz Rating: General Word Count: 934 Alternate: AO3 Summary: "'But can you say no to a triple dog dare?' Buck stops short, halfway to turning around and walking away.
He peers back at Hen, eyes narrowed. 'What are you, five?’
'You’re going to do it though, right?'
‘I hate you.'
'Love you too!'"
In which Hen dares Buck to kiss Eddie Warnings: N/A Author’s Note: Day four for @buddiefirstkissweek! Enjoy!  Prompt: Day 4 - On a dare
Buck laughs before he sees Hen’s raised eyebrow. She’s looking at him as if he had said the most ridiculous thing in the world even though he hadn’t. He swears. Just because he isn’t telling the truth, doesn’t mean she shouldn’t believe him. After all, she wouldn’t know Buc is lying.
Fidgeting with his sleeve on his LAFD sweatshirt, he carefully eyes his friend and coworker. “What?”
“Come on, Buckaroo, you’re really going to deny it?” Buck looks away from her, feeling his entire face heating up. “We’ve all seen the way you look at Eddie. There’s no point in denying it. You love him — a sickeningly amount I might add — and we’re all getting tired of you pining after him.”
Buck sighs in defeat, knowing he’s been caught out. “And what might you suggest I do about it?”
“Kiss him.”
“What?” Buck balks at Hen’s statement, taking a step back. He sends a quick look over to where Eddie is currently working out, praying he can’t hear this conversation. “I can’t just… Hen have you gone mad? He’ll punch me!”
“First off, I don’t think Eddie would ever physically hurt you,” Hen says with a look that makes Buck ashamed for even suggesting it. “Secondly, he’s just as disgustingly in love with you too so, yes, you really can just go up to him and kiss him.”
“I really can’t, Hen! What if he doesn’t want it?” he asks. “Then I’ve basically just sexually harassed my best friend.”
Hen sighs in frustration. “Trust me, Buck, he’ll want it. Chimney and I are done watching the pair of you dance around one another.”
“What about Bobby?”
Hen lets out a quick chuckle. “I think he gets amusement over how oblivious the two of you are.” Buck is about to comment on that statement when Hen continues speaking, interrupting him. “If you won’t do it because I’m telling you to, then I dare you to kiss Eddie.”
Buck tsks in hilarity. “You’re daring me now?”
There’s an evil smirk on Hen’s fave and it makes Buck nervous. “Because I know you won’t be able to say no to a dare.”
It’s Buck’s turn to smirk. “That’s where you’re wrong, Hen, because I can say no to a dare.”
“But can you say no to a triple dog dare?” Buck stops short, halfway to turning around and walking away.
He peers back at Hen, eyes narrowed. “What are you, five?”
“You’re going to do it though, right?”
“I hate you.”
“Love you too!”
With another defeated sigh, Buck turns away and starts making his way to the gym area. Eddie is doing pull up which makes his muscles ripple in all the ways Buck likes. He clears his throat as he approaches, getting Eddie’s attention. “Can I talk to you?”
Eddie lets go of the bar and drops to the floor, wiping sweat off his forehead with the back of his hand. “Of course. What is it?”
Buck swallows hard. “Please don’t be mad at me, I was dared.”
“Buck, what are you-” Buck stops him mid-sentence by pressing his lips against Eddie’s.
It’s not the most graceful of kisses if you can even call it a kiss. It’s more of a mashing of two mouths together, with Eddie stiffening in surprise. When Buck pulls away, Eddie is looking at him in confusion, eyebrows furrowed and mouth pulling down into a frown. Buck stands there, red-faced and heart beating out of his chest, preparing himself for Eddie to yell and scream and hit him.
Except none of that happens and instead, Eddie says in the calmest voice ever, “A dare, huh?”
Buck shifts his weight from one foot to the other. “Yeah. Sorry.”
What comes out of Eddie’s mouth next, surprises Buck and stops his heart all at the same time. “Can I dare you to kiss me again?”
“What?”
Eddie is chuckling, peeling hand wraps off his hands. “Got to say, I’m surprised Hen convinced you to do it.”
Buck’s brains stops short. “I’m sorry, what?” He shakes his head to clear it. “You knew about this?”
Eddie shrugs. “Kind of.” Then, rolling his eyes, he continues. “Hen had already dared me to kiss you but I refused so… It was only logical she’d go to you next.”
Buck huffs goodnaturedly. “You refused a dare to kiss me?”
“Yeah,” Eddie starts walking away and Buck follows. “Because unlike you, I can actually say no to a dare.”
“She triple dog dared me!” Buck defends.
Eddie shakes his head in amusement, eyebrows creasing. “What are you two, five?”
Buck ignores his comment, knowing Eddie is only teasing and follows Eddie into the showers. “Wait, did you want to kiss me though?”
Eddie takes a deep breath, eyes roaming over Buck’s body. Then, extremely serious, “Yes, I did.”
A smile tugs at Buck’s lips and he can’t hold it back, beaming at Eddie. “So I can keep kissing you?”
Eddie chuckles, looking down and then back up to Buck, shaking his head again. “Yeah, Buck, you can.” Buck’s smile grows and his cheeks hurt but he doesn’t really care at the moment. He’s just so happy! Eddie peers around the room, ignoring Buck’s excitement. “Now if you don’t mind, I would really like to take a shower.”
“Yeah!” Buck says enthusiastically, leaning in and pecking Eddie on the lips. “But when you’re done, I’m giving you all the kisses!”
Eddie huffs a laugh. “Okay.”
Grinning, Buck turns around and walks out of the shower with his hands shoved into his pants’ pockets and whistling happily.

Serenity
Author: Lopithecus Pairing: Evan “Buck” Buckley/Eddie Diaz Rating: General Word Count: 778 Alternate: AO3 Summary: "It’s not how he imagined their first kiss to be like. Buck imagined it to be frantic with teeth and tongue and desperation after one of them almost lost their life… again. Instead, it happens when the two are sat on Eddie’s couch, Christopher having just been put to bed." Warnings: N/A Author's Note: This is for @buddiefirstkissweek! Short but sweet! I skipped day one and two for now because I couldn’t think of anything to write for them. I’ll probably go back and write something later when the other prompts are done. Please enjoy! Prompt: Day 3 - Soft & Slow
It’s not how he imagined their first kiss to be like. Buck imagined it to be frantic with teeth and tongue and desperation after one of them almost lost their life… again. Instead, it happens when the two are sat on Eddie’s couch, Christopher having just been put to bed. Eddie had come back out into the living room and stood in the doorway for what seemed like minutes, just staring at Buck as Buck stared back. Finally, the other man came over and sat down next to him, so close that their thighs touch. Then, without saying a word, Eddie leaned over and started kissing Buck.
It’s nothing sexual, just the press of both their lips against one another. It had taken Buck aback at first, his mind playing catch up. But soon, he settled into the feeling of Eddie’s lips against his, soft and light. They move a little, Eddie’s hand coming up to softly stroke the back of Buck’s neck, barely there touches sending sparks up into Buck’s head. Buck’s own hands wrap around Eddie’s biceps, grabbing on lightly.
It’s the softest, most non-sexual kiss Buck has ever had. It’s almost… hesitant on Eddie’s side and the last thing Buck wants to do is scare him away with the wrong move. So he sits there, allows Eddie to take control of the situation. He allows Eddie to pull away when he wants to look in Buck’s eyes questioningly and when Buck says nothing, he allows Eddie to lean back in and kiss him again.
This time, Eddie has more confidence, pushing into Buck harder, moving his lips as Buck follows suit. Buck’s hands find their way to Eddie’s back and hair while Eddie’s hand places itself on the side of Buck’s face as the other lands on Buck’s lower back. They scoot closer to each other, one of them letting out a small moan of approval. Buck isn’t sure if it was him or Eddie but he doesn’t care. All he does care about it the fact that Eddie is kissing him and it’s all he’s ever wanted.
Kiss stays pretty chaste, even as their hands start to roam the other’s body over their clothes, gripping and tugging different spots. If they don’t stop now, this might turn to a different activity that involves moving from the couch and to the bed instead. Although, even as much as Buck is loving this and the fact that Eddie is the one who started it, Buck has a feeling Eddie isn’t quite ready for that step yet.
So Buck reluctantly reins himself in and pulls away with quiet exhale of breath. He blinks his eyes open slowly, feeling how his face is hot. He’s sure he’s red all over but when he peers at Eddie, the other man isn’t doing any better. Eddie’s face has a beautiful blush currently sitting high on his cheeks, his brown eyes downcast and avoiding Buck’s. Buck places two fingers under Eddie’s chin and turns his head to face him.
“What brought this on?” he asks.
Eddie pulls his bottom lip between his teeth, the red of his face deepening. Buck can’t resist and so he leans forward, cupping Eddie’s face with his hands and kissing along Eddie’s blush. When he’s done, Eddie has calmed some and he shrugs. “I felt like it. You were sitting there and you looked… We just had a really good night with Christopher together and you’re so good with him that…”
He’s struggling, Buck knows. He rubs a hand along Eddie’s cheek, thumb passing over his nose. “I’m glad you chose to.”
“Yeah?”
Buck smiles warmly. “Yeah. I’ve been wanting to kiss you forever now.”
Eddie’s blush is back at Buck’s words and Buck chuckles, leaning closer again to press their lips together once more. He trails his lips over Eddie’s nose and his cheek, over his temple, until landing on his forehead where he plants another soft kiss. When he leans back, Eddie looks shy and Buck isn’t entirely sure he’s ever seen that on Eddie. Somehow, it makes Buck proud to have put it there.
“Do you want to watch a movie? I can make us some popcorn,” Buck asks.
Eddie’s shoulders sag in relief and Buck assumes it’s at the normalcy Buck is keeping between them. Eddie lets out a quick breath and nods, smiling slightly. “Yeah.”
Buck stands from the couch, stretching slightly. “Okay, you pick out the movie and I’ll get the popcorn started.”
As Eddie reaches for the remote to the TV, Buck makes his way to the kitchen, looking back at his best friend only once, and smiling happily.

Kissing in the Rain
Author: Lopithecus Pairing: Evan “Buck” Buckley/Eddie Diaz Rating: General Word Count: 1213 Alternate: AO3 Summary: "So maybe kissing in the rain is cliche as hell. So what? It’s not like Buck had purposely asked Eddie out on a date and then after that date, they got stuck waiting for an Uber out in the rain and that was when Buck had the great idea to have his first kiss with Eddie. No. Not at all…
Just because it just happened to be like that, doesn’t mean it’s Buck’s fault. He swears!"
In which Buck decides to be a bit cliché Warnings: N/A Author’s Note: Day 7 for @buddiefirstkissweek. Enjoy! Prompt: Day 7 - Free day, author’s choice
“You want to what?” Eddie asks him as he changes into his civvies. They’re just getting off a twenty-four-hour shift and maybe Buck has gone a little loopy with exhaustion and that’s how he finds the courage to ask Eddie out, but that doesn’t matter in the slightest. What does matter is Eddie’s answer.
“Yeah, go out with me,” Buck confirms, closing his locker a little too loudly. He can feel Hen and Chimney’s eyes on his back as him and Eddie talk.
Eddie blinks at him, mouth slightly parted in surprise. “As in… a-a date?”
“Yep,” Buck says, punctuating it with a quick nod and popping his p. “So, what do you say?”
Eddie visually swallows hard, eyes flitting to behind Buck to look at Hen and Chimney. His face is growing red and Buck suddenly regrets asking in front of them. Eddie’s eyes slowly drift back to Buck’s, licking his lips nervously. “So I take you… uh… like me.”
Buck shouldn’t but he rolls his eyes. “Come on Eddie, we’re not high schoolers. Yeah, I’m attracted to you and I think you’re attracted to me.”
Eddie is still staring at him all wide-eyed and anxious. “I…”
“Eddie, chill,” Hen speaks up, coming up behind Buck and resting her chin on his shoulder. “We all know you two want to jump each other’s bones.”
“I’m sorry what?”
Hen ignores Eddie, continuing. “It’s not like it’s a secret. Everyone in the 118 knows. Hell, Bobby probably already has a wedding speech prepared.”
“A… wedding…”
“Yeah,” Chimney adds. “We already have a lesbian.” Chimney gestures to Hen and Hen smiles proudly back at him. “Why not add two bisexuals? Just say yes, Edmundo.”
“Okay,” Buck cuts in, deciding to save Eddie from this torment. The poor guy looks like he is about to self-combust from embarrassment, he’s so red. “Well, will you go on a date with me?”
Eddie is still obviously perplexed but instead of arguing further with inquiries, he says, “Yes?”
Buck ignores the fact that it sounded more like a question than an actual answer and smiles. “Great! I’ll pick you up tonight at eight.”
“Woah, do you already have a reservation?” Chimney asks him. “That’s pretty presumptuous of you, Buckaroo.”
Buck smiles smugly at Chimney and Hen. “That’s because I already knew he was going to say yes.”
“Okay, his ego is now overly inflated again,” Hen teases, walking towards the door. Before leaving, she turns back towards the two and says, genuinely, “Have fun you two.”
“Don’t screw it up!” Chimney calls over his shoulder while he, too, leaves.
Buck turns back to Eddie who is now looking like he’s short-circuited. “You okay?”
Eddie quickly snaps out of it, blinking away his confusion. “Yeah. Should I wear something nice tonight?”
“Nah,” Buck waves it off. “We’re just going to a bar.”
“But you said-”
“That was just to fool with them.” Buck chuckles. “I didn’t think you would want to go anywhere fancy.”
Eddie nods in appreciation. “Okay, then. Eight o’clock it is.” His eyes deliberately roam over Buck’s body. “Looking forward to it.”
Buck smiles at him and it makes Eddie smile in turn. “Good.”
After picking Eddie up, they end up in their usual bar. In fact, the only thing different this night than any other night when just the two of them end up here, is the fact that now they both know that there is something more to it. There’s a different air to it, more romantic and heavily coated with want and affection for the other. They can now openly flirt with each other and know they are flirting with one another. They can hold hands and steal food from each of their plates and know what it means. It’s special in a way that before wasn’t. It makes Buck tremendously happy.
When they are done eating and drinking and dancing (Eddie refused to do Karaoke), they head outside to wait for their Uber. To Buck’s surprise and disappointment, it had started to rain sometime while they were in there. They both stand under the awning at the entrance to the bar, trying to stay dry.
Buck sighs. “Well if this isn’t a mood killer…”
Eddie shrugs from beside him. “I don’t know, I don’t mind it.”
“You don’t think it’s a bad omen?”
Eddie huffs a laugh. “Of course, you would believe in omens.”
“And what? You don’t?” Buck exclaims, following Eddie out into the rain to get out of the way of other patrons.
“No, I don’t.”
Buck tsks, throwing his hands out and watching as Eddie sits down on the curb. “And, of course, you don’t! I should have known that from someone who doesn’t believe in ghosts.” Eddie doesn’t comment on this and only shakes his head in amusement. Sighing again, Buck goes to sit next to Eddie. They’re already soaked through their clothes so sitting on the wet pavement shouldn’t matter. “Seriously, Eddie, you don’t think it raining on our first date is a bad sign do you?”
Eddie turns to him. “Buck, I promise the rain is not a bad sign.”
“Okay,” Buck says quietly and Eddie shakes his head again.
“We’ve been through a lot, Buck. If none of that has stopped us, a little rain certainly isn’t,” Eddie adds.
Buck gazes at Eddie, watching as the rain continues to soak his face. His bangs are plastered to his forehead and it’s adorable. Drops of water fall from Eddie’s eyelashes and roll down his cheeks. Some go over his mouth and Buck leans in to catch a stray drop that wedges itself in between Eddie’s top and bottom lip.
Eddie doesn’t hesitate in kissing him back softly, slowly moving their lips together. A hand comes up and slots itself on the back of Buck’s neck, pulling him in. Buck reaches up, puts a hand on the side of Eddie’s face, and presses further in, deepening the kiss.
So maybe kissing in the rain is cliché as hell.
He swears!
He really couldn’t have planned this at all. It helps that he didn’t actually look at the weather report before he had decided to ask Eddie. So, yes, not Buck’s fault that this turned into one of the most cliché kisses he has ever had in his entire life.
Not that he’s complaining.
When they pull apart, Eddie is smiling at him. “Our Uber’s here.”
“Oh,” Buck says, slightly dazed. He wants to keep kissing Eddie, had loved the feel of it.
“Stay the night?”
A smile tugs at Buck’s mouth as they both stand. He reaches out and grabs ahold of Eddie’s hand, linking their fingers together. “I would love to.”
They don’t let go of one another the whole way back to Eddie’s and when they arrive back at his place, well… Buck will just say his night gets better from there.

License to Thrill
Author: Lopithecus Pairing: Evan “Buck” Buckley/Eddie Diaz Rating: Teen+ Word Count: 823 Alternate: AO3 Summary: “Buck knows it’s the wrong thing to say as soon as a smug smile appears on Eddie’s face. 'Oh really?'
'Don’t.'
'I’m just that hot am I?'
'Eddie,' Buck warns, on the verge of laughing.
'Irresistible Diaz.'
Buck shoves him away when Eddie leans forward, puckering his lips in a teasing way. 'More like annoying Diaz.'”
Warnings: N/A Author’s Note: Day 5 for @buddiefirstkissweek. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve written “steamy” kissing so please excuse the awfulness of this. Enjoy! Prompt: Day 5 - Hot & Sexy
It’s not exactly a situation Buck has thought he’d find himself in. One minute he and Eddie are talking and, admittedly, flirting, as they sat on Buck’s couch and the next Eddie is kissing him. It’s not like Buck is going to complain. Quite the opposite actually. He’s been wanting to kiss Eddie for ages now, so as far as Buck is concerned, he’s currently in Heaven. Still, that doesn’t change the fact that Eddie has some explaining to do. Although, Buck realizes, that line of thought is hard to think about when Eddie has his tongue shoved down Buck’s throat.
Buck reluctantly pushes Eddie away gently by the shoulders, groaning at the loss. Eddie looks at him, offended, and probably hurt, but Buck has to ask this. “Eddie, shouldn’t we talk?”
“We can talk later,” the older man says, trying to lean back into Buck to continue kissing him.
Buck holds him back even though all he wants to do is keep kissing him. “But, isn’t this important?”
Eddie shrugs, looking the perfect picture of nonchalant. “Yeah, but right now I don’t want to think about what we are doing and just do it.”
Buck really can’t argue with that so instead of answering, he dives back into kissing Eddie roughly. He licks at Eddie’s bottom lip and when Eddie immediately opens up, he slides his tongue into Eddie’s mouth. Eddie moans, using his hand on the back of Buck’s neck to pull him closer, leaning back and allowing Buck to hover over him. Buck feels him up, gliding his hand up the side of Eddie’s torso and feeling the tight muscle underneath his t-shirt. He would love to get it off him but Eddie’s hands are distracting in his hair and his tongue exploring the inside of Buck’s mouth is even more distracting.
Pulling away briefly to suck in a breath of air, Buck takes the opportunity to shuck off his own shirt, yanking it unceremoniously over his head. It catches on ears and he can hear Eddie laugh who then reaches up and helps Buck out of it. Buck feels his entire face heat up in embarrassment but Eddie is dragging him back in and kissing his neck. With another groan of pleasure, Buck shifts, slotting himself in between Eddie’s legs.
“Do you,” Buck pants. “Want to do this right now?”
Eddie licks a stripe up Buck’s neck, nipping at his pulse point, and making Buck shiver. “Yes but,” he sits back, biting his bottom lip, “I have to pick up Christopher soon. I don’t want to rush this.”
Buck grimaces at the mention of Christopher, feeling awkward in the current position he is. Sighing, he slowly sits up and rubs a hand down his face. “I almost forgot.”
“Sorry.”
“No, don’t be,” Buck is quick to say. He doesn’t want Eddie to ever feel like he needs to be sorry for being a dad. “Christopher should always be your top priority.” He shoots Eddie a reassuring smile as he reaches for his shirt and pulls it back on. “Rain check?”
One of Eddie’s eyebrows raises. “Well, I was hoping we could still make out until I had to leave at least.”
Buck chuckles, amused. “I would love that, Eddie, I really would but I don’t think I’ll be able to control myself if we continue.”
Buck knows it’s the wrong thing to say as soon as a smug smile appears on Eddie’s face. “Oh really?”
“Don’t.”
“I’m just that hot am I?”
“Eddie,” Buck warns, on the verge of laughing.
“Irresistible Diaz.”
Buck shoves him away when Eddie leans forward, puckering his lips in a teasing way. “More like annoying Diaz.”
They both sit there laughing at their ridiculous antics for a few seconds before sobering quietly. “Talk when I get back?”
Buck doesn’t comment on the fact that Eddie just assumes it’s okay to come back to his apartment with Christopher. It’s always okay in Buck’s book, enjoys having the two of them around, and welcomes them with open arms and home. “Maybe after more making out.”
Eddie huffs a laugh, standing. “You’re so ridiculous.”
“I’m sorry,” Buck says, standing as well. “Who’s the one who just called themselves ‘Irresistible Diaz?’” He points to himself, smirk in place. “And you’re calling me ridiculous?”
Shaking his head and looking at Buck through his eyelashes, Eddie laughs and shoves at Buck playfully as he makes his way to Buck’s door. “I’m going to pick up my kid.”
Buck follows him. “Okay, ‘Irresistible Diaz.’”
Eddie groans. “God, I’m not going to live that down now, am I?”
Buck shakes his head, grabbing the door as Eddie steps out into the apartment building hall. “Nope, not at all.”
With another head shake and amused smile directed at Buck, Eddie says goodbye and walks away. Buck shuts the door, his own happy smile shining on his face, looking forward to when Eddie returns.
