Artist Research & Selection

rayon threads on canvas over custom panel
65' x 40' x 5 1/2' (panel 18' x 40" x 5 1/2")
Nike Schroeder
"Her current work includes mixed media with machine embroidery where the stitch is an extension of the paintbrush, and pieces using hanging rayon threads where subtle graduation of colo[u]r combined with the lucidity of the thread make her a popular artist worldwide."
I just love her work. She has a way of drawing the eye off the canvas. Her colors are selected carefully and mixed beautifully. I have never seen anything like it.

Woven Cotton and Mirrored Acrylic, 2017
59" x 39"
★ Diedrick Brackens
"He is best known for his woven tapestries that explore allegory and narrative through the artist's autobiography, broader themes of African American and queer identity, as well as American history.
Hand woven fibers, wool, cotton and acrylic on canvas in the artist’s frame
45 1/4 by 53 1/4 in.  114.9 by 135.3 cm.
His work is so beautifully done. He has such a connection to his work through his identity, which is reflected in his work. The range of colors he uses in his tapestries is wonderful. I love the history that is attached to each of his pieces and the story they tell.

Brent Wadden
"[He] produces abstract woven works that bring together traditions of painting, design, craft, and folk art.
Man, I just love this guy's work. The large abstract shapes and the bold colors. The size at which he works. It's all so engaging. The shapes draw me in and make me want to see the woven fibers. I want one in my house. I think he is one of my favorite fibers artist I have found.
