LEE COUNTY HOUSING MARKET REPORT

The September housing market report for Lee County showed 1,464 properties sold for just over $726 Million during the month. The County includes Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Captiva, Estero, Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, Miromar Lakes, Sanibel, and surrounding areas.

The luxury market slowed a bit, with 92 properties sold at or above $1 Million in September compared to 132 homes in August. The highest-priced sale was a luxury single-family home in Quail West for $6,200,000.

Module 9 Assignment: Photographer’s Eye

For this assignment I came up with the unifying idea of animals. From wild to pet store to home pets I have captured 10 photos of a variety of animals. I chose animals because I think they are all different while still being animals and can be found in various places. Most of the pictures I already had from just seeing animals. The importance of my idea is not that important. With animals surrounding us it wasn't hard to find the perfect topic. The following are the photos along with a description and background information on the photos.

Photo 1:

This photo was taken of me along with a giraffe at the Naples zoo. I was feeding the giraffe pieces of lettuce. This picture ties onto the theme of animals because of the giraffe. Giraffes are not native to america so it was a good experience to meet and feed one in person.

Photo 2:

Ducks are featured in this picture. I took this at a store called Rule King in Bonita Springs. The shot was an overhead shot. The ducks were for sale to own as a pet.

Photo 3:

My dog Spike is featured in this picture. He is a one year old crazy yorkie. He loves to play and has a huge personality. He made sure to strike a pose for me to take his picture.

Photo 4:

Roxy is my other dog who is featured above. She is a 4 year old Bichon Frise who also has a huge personality but in a very sassy way. She is not one to be in front of the camera and most of the time likes to be left alone.

Next up are two Bald Eagles. We found these Eagles at the Fort Myers nature walk. I had never seen a Bald Eagle before until this day and just had to take a quick picture of the magnificent birds.

Hamster Fluff is seen above if you can find him. He is my little robo dwarf hamster who I have had for around 6 months. He loves to burrow in his fluffing and was named fluff on accident. If you see him make sure you take a picture because he doesn't come out much.

This attention seeking pup is not really a pup at all. This 10 year old german shepherd would kill to get all the pets and love you have to offer. He will be loyal and stick by your side but make sure his hair doesn't do the same.

Photo 8:

This picture is of two living sand dollars. We did put them back after the picture. Most people forget that sand dollars are alive and animals. They are not just shells you can pick up and take home from the beach.

Photo 9:

Lemurs were found at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. I took this picture to have a cool reminder of this animal. Lemurs are not something you can find native or in the wild to the United States and it was a cool experience to see one.

Photo 10:

These famous penguins were located at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. They were loving the attention and just kept striking many poses for all to see. These amazing animals were easy to photograph with their larger than life personalities.

All of these pictures have many things in common like they are all animals and they all have different personalities; however, many come from all over the world or right here at our local beaches. Some live in very dry climates and others right in water.While they are all different they are all connected by one thing, life.

During the Second Seminole War, between 1835 and 1842, the U.S. Army operated Fort Dulany at Punta Rassa, at the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River. Aside from that, army operations were moved up the Caloosahatchee River to a site named Fort Harvie when a hurricane destroyed Fort Dulany in October 1841.
