Today, we’re going to explore non-human graveyards. Did you know that there are interesting places around the world where certain groups of things go to deteriorate? This big guy is headed to the FAST as in “Fiberglass Animal Shapes and Trademarks” Graveyard.
FAST is in Sparta, Wisconsin and has been making fiberglass statues since the 1970s. FAST Fiberglass makes “larger than life” statues, road side attractions, and themed water slides.
To avoid wasting the molds they saved every one they’ve ever made, and it’s accidentally become a tourist attraction.
England’s red phone booth cemetery. More than 5,000 have been adopted and converted into all kinds of novel uses.
The Rickshaw resting place of Bangladesh. The traditional rickshaw is facing a challenge from battery-powered vehicles that don’t require quite the same superhuman effort from the driver. Nearly half of all crashes involve them and many roads in the capital have been declared off-limits to rickshaws.
Ben & Jerry’s Graveyard of Discontinued Flavors. Surrounded by a white picket fence on a grassy knoll in Vermont, lie the headstones of especially beloved flavors or particularly despised flavors.
China’s bicycle graveyard. This is the result of the “dockless bikes” b/c there weren’t enough docks for public bikes. Virginia’s dumping ground for 43 President’s heads, left over from the defunct ‘Presidents Park’ theme park.
France’s graveyard of big red firetrucks. Fire Depts. used to raise funds to restore them and put them in museums, but that went bust. They were then sold to the public or scrapped. The rest were sent to storage sites like this in the event that maybe a museum would save them.
And, finally, Portugal’s anchors are all that’s left of a once-bustling tuna fishing industry.

Community Response
Five weeks after the shootings, the district worked with the Colorado Historical Society to take down the memorials and begin preserving them for future museum displays.
The public grieving began almost immediately and increased as the days wore on. Clement Park, which sits adjacent to Columbine High School, was the center of the mourning. It became the site of literally thousands of informal memorials, as people from around the world came to leave signs of remembrance and support for the students of Columbine.
Foothills Park and Recreation District, which manages the facility, estimates that more than 200,000 people traveled to the park before the memorials were dismantled in May. The visitors left stuffed animals, crosses, angels, candles, bouquets, photographs, ribbons and numerous other items.
A pick-up truck and a small compact car, discovered the next day parked in a Clement Park lot by Columbine students, became memorials to two of the slain students. The vehicles were nearly unrecognizable as friends and strangers covered them with flowers and countless pictures, cards, letters and drawings in memory of the owners.
Mourners mingled with the media, which were set up at Clement Park to cover press conferences and response efforts at the school. The high volume of foot traffic and wet weather wreaked havoc on the park. The Foothills staff placed tents, plastic and more than 2,000 bales of straw around the memorials and grass to minimize the damage.
Items from the informal memorial were removed and put in storage in a vacant building at the Denver Federal Center. The district staff provided all of the logistics and volunteer coordination for the removal of the memorial items, a process that took three days to complete with over 300 volunteers. Under the direction of the Colorado Historical Society the main focus for the memorial removal was to be sensitive to community needs and save as many items as possible, while recognizing the need to return the park to normal operations within a reasonable time frame. The inventory of items removed from the park included over 2,500 stuffed animals, 250 crosses, pictures, artwork, a new bicycle, and over 300 banners from all over the world. In addition, thousands of flowers were recycled into potpourri or mulch for planting beds.

i know lazy days in the ghoul bicycle den go hard, everybody shuffles into the living room after breakfast in various states of undress and they all flop onto their massive couch (it's absolutely one of those types that have cushions like a bed so it fits everyone). phantom is nestled into cumulus' chest as she scratches him behind the horns, mountain's got his arm around rain who keeps falling asleep, reader has her head in swiss' lap and he and aurora take turns playing with her hair. no one can decide on what to watch so they just put on trash tv and aether and cirrus end up getting really into storage wars or pawn stars. sunshine procures a massive bag of popcorn and throws it at dewdrop who tries his best to catch it in his mouth (half the bag ends up on the floor). at some point early in the afternoon everyone gets drowsy and they send bug to go fetch blankets. by the time he's got enough of them and he returns, everybody is dozing so he dutifully makes sure everybody is covered before climbing into the pile and burrowing between aether and mountain. everybody feels safe and warm and loved in this bitch!!! peace and love on planet earth!!

okat I am writing this dream on my phone and not fixing typos
There was a little Black girl who was arounf ten years old who was playing outside with her bicycle. She left he bicycle somewhere to play in a stream and when she came back her bike was gone. She decided to wait and see if who ever had stolen it would bring it back since she didn't want to go home without it and get in trouble. So she kept waiting even though it was going to be dark soon and she was supposed to go home before the sun set.
She ended up waiting until 3AM.
Then she finally gave up and decided to go home and to keep her parents from. Being mad she hatched a plan to pretend she's been chased around the entire time by wolves who had also stolen her bike. Her plan to convince them of this was to sneak into her bedroom window. Take her cheetah Halloween mask out of the closet, and wear it while running around her backyard and howling like a wolf so if they looked out they'd hear the howls and see the fur and be convinced there were real wolves running around theor house
So she started doing this and then we cut to inside the house where her parents were in the living room watching TV in the dark. Her dad was missing one eye and kept dropping his glass of water.
They heard the howls and obviously knew it was their daughter and went to the window to look out and see what she was doing. Her mom yelled out that she could just come inside since they knew it was her.
We cut back to the kid and she was a ated that her ruse had been seen through, and decided to run and hide in the bushes by the shed.
And then she found a hole in the ground under the side of the shed and decided to climb under it.
Her parents realized what she was doing and ran out after her, calling for her to come back because they weren't mad and this was going really out of the way. Her mom went down first and the scene became animated (it was live action before). The tunnel wasade of blue stone in rotating endless triangle shapes. It seemed too small for anyone to fit through but they all kept climbing anyway and shrunk as they went.
They came out in a cavern, and the kids mom and dad looked around trying to find her. They heard a howl in the distance and turned to look, but this was from a real wolf who was running towards them. Then they felt a tug on their shirts and turned around again and their daughter was smiling up at them, and they thought "damn it she's too cute to be mad at".
The cheetah mask she has been wearing had come to life when she took it off, so there was a bipedal cheetah kid also there.
The wolf who'd been running towards them jumped up at the mom and began to lick her face and it slowly began to get revealed that they were King and Queen of this secret realm and theyd had to go to Earth because of a curse, and all the wolves here were their friends and this one was a puppy, the rest were giant and carried people around.
A groundskeeper showed up to welcome them from their exile while they were looking around the armory and it was also sneakily revealed that they had adopted their daughter, which she knew, but they were keeping secret from everyone else. She had broken the curse by climbing down the passage since she wasn't included in the original curse's intent. Her parents were not aware of this, they thought the curse had just expired.
They grabbed suitabt royal attire from the storage room and followed the groundskeeper off to get to their kingdom again.
I couldn't clearly see any of the characters except the cheetah kid who had an exaggerated football head. The animation wa sort of s in the style of Courage the Cowardly Dog....

Dear Gus & Magnus,
Bad weather hit Central Arkansas this afternoon and the tornado sirens went off right before Gus's school let out. Mom called me because she was torn on whether to take cover in the basement with Mags and Suki or try and go get Gus before any weather hit our neighborhood. She was worried that if she didn't go get Gus, the school would let him out anyway and then he'd be walking home alone -- something he hasn't done before -- and then the tornado would hit. But she also didn't want to take Mags out into the weather. I was watching news coverage at work and it seemed like it was west of us, so I told her to go get Gus. But then Sasha, who was in line for pick-up at PHE commented in my work chat that the kids had been locked inside for safety. I called Mom and she and Magnus turned around went to the basement.
I've always told her that the absolute safest place in the basement is underneath the stairs, in the small little storage cupboard. A few minutes later, Mom called me back and said they had made it to that small space, but that the door had latched behind them and locked them in. She told me not to come let them out, but to be ready to come do so as soon as the tornado had passed. The news reported that the tornado was in Riverdale, just down the hill from us, but they were showing footage of it crossing the river to the north, so I felt certain I could drive from downtown to our house safely. I didn't like thinking about Mom and Magnus being stuck in that small space in the dark. And what if the tornado did hit our neighborhood and they really got stuck in there, but I couldn't get to them because of debris and road closures or whatever? Or what if Gus got stuck at school and I couldn't get to Hillcrest?
I grabbed my keys and ran to the parking deck. A man taking cover in the stairwell opened the door for me and said, "Come on in!" When I told him I had to drive to Hillcrest, he told me not to, and then wished me luck. I raced through downtown along 2nd Street, and then 3rd, just like I do every day, but faster and more alert to everything around me. By the time I reached our house, the weather had settled somewhat, but my adrenaline had peaked. The air reminded me too much of the day Nene and I rode out the tornado in the hallway in Beebe in 1999. (In that linked video, you can see an 11th grade version of me at the 7:04 mark, sitting behind the dude in the black shirt.)
As soon as I opened the basement door in the kitchen, I could hear Mom reassuring Magnus underneath my feet. I heard her say, "There's Daddy," and even though I knew they were safe before that moment, hearing Liz's voice broke me. I had tears in my eyes when I unlatched the door and saw them standing there. But I also couldn't help laughing because I hadn't expected to find Mom wearing Magnus in the carrier, I hadn't expected them both to be wearing bicycle helmets, and there was also something funny about seeing Suki standing there with them. Mom laughed through tears, too. The three of us stood there and held each other for a few minutes.
"I told you not to come," Mom said.

We went upstairs to keep an eye on the news. The tornado had continued on its path northeast and we kept an eye on Beebe. Sasha called and said she was with Gus and could drop him off at our house.
After she did, I could finally feel myself start to relax. It felt good to have us all in the same place. It always does.

The doorman goes home to his apartment building where he's greeted with the usual deference accorded to his regal bearing and his brass-buttoned uniform. But when he returns to work the next day he finds a new doorman wearing a copy of the uniform. The hotel manager tells him that he's been replaced, and to turn in the uniform and report to his new job: lavatory attendant. Appalled and crushed, he swipes his old uniform and goes home that night wearing it as if nothing has happened. His niece (Maly Delschaft) is being married. and the ex-doorman celebrates well into the night. Still tipsy the next day, he goes back to the hotel and his new job, stashing the uniform in a checkroom at the railroad station. He bumbles through his duties, but when he returns home he's mocked by his neighbors, who have discovered his fall from grace. The next day he's even more disenchanted with his new job, and incurs the anger of a patron who reports him to the hotel manager, who reprimands him. That night he stays in the washroom, where he's found by the night watchman (Georg John), who helps him retrieve the old uniform and return it to storage. Exhausted, he falls asleep in his chair, and the night watchman tenderly covers him with his coat. And that's where the one and only intertitle occurs: It proclaims that this is where the story would most likely end in reality, with the lavatory attendant living out the rest of his days with "little to look forward to but death." But instead, "The author took pity on him ... and provided quite an improbable epilogue." In short, the protagonist inherits a fortune and invites the night watchman to join him as they're wined and dined by the hotel. It's an audacious ending to a remarkably innovative film. The innovations have received most of the attention, especially Karl Freund's camerawork, which involved far more movement than was usual for the day, with Freund sometimes mounting the camera on a wheelchair or strapping it to his body and riding a bicycle through the sets. The doorman's drunkenness is simulated with a subjective camera, double-exposures, and focus changes. The absence of intertitles is also striking, with no loss of narrative coherence and only a little uncertainty about who some of the characters are: I wasn't sure about the identity of the bride until I saw her listed as his niece in the credits on IMDb. But it's the provision of an alternate ending that strikes me as most audacious. The English title, The Last Laugh, seems to derive from this "improbable epilogue." (The German title, Der letzte Mann, means "the last man.") Does the last laugh really belong to Murnau and scenarist Carl Mayer, mocking the audience's sentimentality in wanting an unearned happy ending?
