How Perform Beginner Guitar
There are many people who desires to know how to are guitar. Just guitar pro crack keygen of them are asking they will can should really get basics not having much someone to coach them. Surely they will certainly! There are many online instructions for beginners and a few obvious methods sites where they can usually get guitar chords and tabs for certain songs. All they should get is perseverance along with can participate in the guitar as being pro. A big part on the mastering stage is enhancing. A maximizer is a sort of limiter where an output threshold is looking for the track not to clip above, and seeing how loud it can get before an excessive compression is used. Thankfully I had a moment of sanity and chosen to just try that Plexi out one more time before selling it unable and impress! guitar pro full crack download , truly the best amp I'd Guitar Pro every performed. How could that amp that sounded aggressive lifeless and dull over a year ago all regarding a sudden sound like heaven?!? It's a difficult and inefficient setup. Do yourself a favor, search for a music store, buy a pin for as much as 75 cents, and store them put it on playing the guitar for individuals. I suggest, the back of demands at least at the edge, directly behind where the neck meets the human body. I have tried a few different spots, that's my alternative. This basically a learning method, later on, avoid using be a professional and are going to not choose to remember those acronyms, every time you seem playing a guitar; yeah I know they are funny acronyms, but you can't stick with them forever, end up being be annoying to are guitar while thinking "Every Good Boy Does Fine" and "Face" all period. Your own concentration could be a barrier to faster playing. Possess concentrate intensely, thinking about every movement you build muscles move less fluidly and your entire playing often be slower. You might or might not be able to keep up along with pace of the basic guitar lessons that you're. If you are not, I want to encourage you not to give up, but persevere. All you have to do is keep practicing, really. Also, you can purchase help out of your friends also. Learning the guitar really is not that difficult, versus learning perform some other instruments like piano. Remove guitar pro license from your head, thoughts that say you will not be able to know the harmonica. Just because you are struggling much more basic guitar today does not mean you will never become a maestro.

Pandemic inspires Pinoys to take up musical instruments
#PHnews: Pandemic inspires Pinoys to take up musical instruments
MANILA – It was only during the pandemic when junior high school student Hazir Brina realized he wanted to learn a new activity besides playing Mobile Legends.
Brina, who loves listening to classical music, decided to learn playing the violin.
Inspired by Taiwanese-Australian violinist duo “TwoSet Violin”, Brina was elated when he received a violin from his mother for his 16th birthday.
“I dreamed of having my own violin at 11-years-old, but we couldn’t afford one at that time. Playing the violin is my stress reliever during the lockdown,” Brina told the Philippine News Agency in an interview.
As a self-taught violinist beginner, Brina now uploads videos of himself playing the violin on social media, covering songs such as Edward Elgar's “Salut d'Amour”, which was even included in video game Fallout 4 as part of its "Classical Radio Station" songs.
Hazir Brina, 16, learned to play the violin after binge-watching videos of Taiwanese-Australian violinist duo TwoSetViolin on YouTube. (Contributed photo)
“Unlike other teenagers, I appreciate classical music than modern music. Whenever I have a problem, I listen or play Salut d'Amour because it helps me relax and focus,” he said.
Brina is only one of many Filipinos who decided to learn a musical instrument during the lockdown. Being stuck home has provided plenty of time to learn something new.
“My piece of advice for those who want to learn playing an instrument during the pandemic is to never allow anyone from stopping you from doing what you want to do,” he said.
Reigniting your music spark
Realizing that playing the flute shouldn’t be limited to being an activity done in his elementary and high school music classes, Jayson Real, 30, decided to pick up the woodwind musical instrument after a decade of not playing.
“I used to play the recorder flute in my elementary and high school days but stopped for a decade. I just came back to playing again this quarantine,” he said.
Jayson, a pharmacy assistant, said playing the flute has helped him deal with pandemic uncertainty since adopting a new hobby helped him focus on the good.
“It helped me cope with my depression and stress from the pandemic,” he said.
Jayson Real, 30, took flute lessons in elementary and high school, then stopped for 10 years. When the pandemic struck, he decided to give playing the flute another go. (Contributed photo)
As a self-confessed romantic, Jayson said he enjoys playing love songs like Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On and David Pomeranz’s Born For You on the flute.
“Flute players are unique because you won’t see them often unlike guitar players,” he said.
Although he describes himself as an amateur flutist, he is hoping that with enough practice and dedication, playing would soon be a lot easier.
“Learning to play any musical instrument is quite difficult at first, but when you love what you’re doing it will be a lot easier in the long run,” he said.
The more the merrier
Jezreel Ian Manuel, 26, an instructor at the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City, is not new to playing instruments. In fact, he could already play at least seven instruments before the lockdown was imposed including the guitar, lyre harp, harmonica, melodica, drums, keyboard, and kalimba.
During the pandemic, Manuel said he learned to play another string instrument -- an acoustic violin 4/4/-- after purchasing one from a local shop in Baguio City.
“The pandemic really gave me an opportunity to pursue and learn the violin,” he said, adding that playing musical instruments has helped him become more “focused” and “disciplined.”
Manuel said another benefit from learning a new musical instrument is being able to share his talent to his friends and family. After all, he was once part of a Christian band in their church.
Jezreel Ian Manuel, 26, can already play around seven musical instruments but decided to still learn to play the violin. (Contributed photo)
“I mean look, there are only a few violin players out there. So being one of them really makes my family proud,” he said.
He takes pride in being productive during the pandemic, encouraging others to develop new skills or improve current ones rather than wasting hours scrolling in social media.
“Learning a new instrument will require a lot patience and practice. There may be times that you want to quit because you might feel like you are not having a progress. The only thing you have to do is to keep motivating yourself. Focus on your goals and of course, never give up,” he said.
Aside from playing musical instruments and uploading his arrangements on social media, Manuel is also passionate about painting, photography, video editing, animation, and graphic design.
Time to practice
Spending more free time at home has given Cath Garcia, 20, the chance to relearn to play the ukulele after encouragement from her friend.
Garcia, a college student taking Information Technology (IT), said that prior to the pandemic, her two-year-old ukulele was gathering dust in her room since she would only play ukulele intermittently.
“To be honest, even though I had it for a long time, I'm still at the beginning stage. Prior to the pandemic, I wasn’t able to practice every day because I had a lot of school-related activities to prioritize,” she said.
She said playing the ukulele was especially rewarding because it helped boost her confidence.
Stuck home for the most part of the pandemic, Cath Garcia, 20, has more time to for her new musical pursuit: The ukulele. (Contributed photo)
“Nalaman ko na I can sing pala (I found out that I could actually sing) even though pangit yung boses ko (if I don’t exactly have the best voice) and I develop my confidence,” she said.
Admitting that she has yet to master “fingerstyle” or the technique of playing a ukulele by plucking the strings directly with fingertips, she said that relearning the musical instrument taught her to appreciate herself better.
“Araw-araw ay (Every day is a) discovery, you need to put some time, attention and effort to grow. Being a ukulele player hindi sumagi sa isip ko pero yung best part nito yung natuto ako at nakilala ko pa yung sarili ko (never crossed my mind but the best part about this is I learned something new and I learned more about myself too),” she said.
When she’s not attending online classes, Garcia would immerse herself in ukulele tutorials and covers.
Sometimes, she would upload cover videos in social media with the goal of getting other ukuleleists to give her tips on how to improve. (PNA)

Twelve Days (Christmas 2017)
A/N: Based on Na Leo’s version of the 12 days of christmas. Written in a couple hours, not really betaed.
Ao3
Twelve raw opihi-
Every Christmas, growing up, Torako’s family would serve raw opihi. When Bentley heard about this, he just about fell off her bed in awe.
“I mean, I knew it was expensive, but is it really that expensive?” Torako had asked, spinning a pen between her fingers.
“Torako,” Bentley said, clutching one of her pillows for strength. “I have never had opihi. I have only dreamed of sampling one single, delicious, disgustingly expensive shellfish. The closest I’ve gotten to opihi in real life is when I stood on New Sacramento Cliff and weighed the benefits and drawbacks of climbing down myself to get a couple—don’t look at me like that, I know it’s dangerous, but if I got three then my dad could have one, I could have one, and I could sell another to get some extra money.”
Torako stared at him, and for the first time really felt the financial difference between them.
“I mean,” Bentley said, blushing, glancing at thin air to his left and then back at her, “it’s not like we’re unable to survive, and we’re pretty comfortable, but we definitely don’t have enough for more than like, one opihi a year, and that’s not worth it.” Then he changed the subject, but Torako kept that information in the back of her head, waiting for the right time. Then, Freshman year, at Christmas, her family express-sent a dozen raw opihi, and Torako got to see the bliss on Bentley’s face as he experienced one of the most expensive delicacies of the Pacific Ocean.
They had opihi for many, many years after that.
 -Eleven mu’umu’u-
The mu’umu’u was a soft shade of pink, and had discrete designs in shimmering silver thread. Bentley lifted it to his chest and watched the fabric fall over his legs, long and ruffled and perfect. In more ways than one, actually, because he couldn’t stop himself from laughing.
“Not quite the reaction I was expecting, but I’ll take it, sure,” Torako said, grinning at Bentley even as a dipnipped-out Dipper licked her hair up into spikes. “What’s got you all cackling there?”
Bentley waved at her pile of presents and said, “just open the green mistletoe one, okay?”
Torako rolled her eyes and tugged the right one into her lap. She hefted it once, twice in her hands, then made short work of the wrapping to reveal cloth, dark blue lanced through with patterns dyed cyan.
She looked up from the mu’umu’u in her lap, wide-eyed for a moment with shock, and then laughed. “I guess we’ve got to get one for Dipper now too and make it a family thing, don’t we?”
Bentley thought of the eleven other dresses he’d been looking at online, and figured that one of them would have to suit his brother.
 -Ten rainbow shave ice-
“Come on Bentley,” Torako hissed, her lips stained with food coloring and artificial flavor, “ten each, you can do it, it’s only one more and then we win!”
Bentley stared at the last rainbow shave ice on the table before him. His head swam with the merciless cold from the last nine he’d downed. He reached a trembling hand out and pulled the shave ice towards him.
“It’s just ice and syrup,” Dipper hissed, “it’s nothing, come on, we have cash money to get out of this.”
Who needed enemies, he thought, when your friends were willing to abandon you to the frozen claws of too much shave ice, all for the sake of meaningless cash. Methodically, he started to lift spoonful by spoonful of shave ice into his mouth, head wailing the whole while.
“Thirty seconds left, Bentley, oh my god just hurry—Dipper, I’ll give you a bag of gummy worms if you—”
“On it,” Dipper said, and next thing Bentley knew there was ice pouring down his throat, so fast and smooth there wasn’t even time to choke before it was an unsettling sensation in his stomach. Distantly, he heard Dipper and Torako cheering over their hard-won cash as his knees hit the ground a few seconds before his head did, and the last cognizant thought on his mind before they got home was that Dipper and Torako were going to pay for their indescretions.
 -Nine pounds of poi-
“Who the fuck,” Bentley wheezed, helping Torako carry the package up the stairs to her apartment, “needs nine pounds of poi?”
“My extended family is large and we all like it very much,” Torako said, not even slightly out of breath. He hated her. He also hated Dipper, invisible and floating behind his friend’s head, making funny (disturbing) faces to try to get a rise out of Bentley. “You don’t have to help, you know.”
“I’m here,” Bentley said, arms trembling, “so I’m going to help, dammit. But I want payback, so much payback, because nine pounds of poi.”
“There’s even more in the truck!” Torako grinned at him, holding her end of the package one handed as she gestured down the stairs, and Bentley could swear he felt his soul leave his body a little.
 -Eight ukulele-
Lata started playing instruments when she was seven, and she never quite went back. She started with a little ukulele at Christmas, plucking at the strings at random and with the kind of inattention that would embarrass them when they were older and knew exactly how fast and true their fingers could flyover the strings. They played many instruments—piano, harmonica, violin, drums, jumping from tool to tool until she came right back around to the ukulele, nine years old and still well-tuned. Lata would sit on rainy weekends for hours, humming and absentmindedly pulling music out of her childhood instrument, the tiny berries on her tiny antlers swaying as she did so. She played for her parents, for her Aunt and Uncles, for her classmates, lovers, coworkers. Lata never went pro with the ukulele—they weren’t confident enough, didn’t have the stomach for entertainment—but they played, and they played, and they played. Over their life, they owned eight ukulele, carefully maintained, sparsely decorated. The last was buried with her.
 -Seven shrimp a-swimming-
“How many shrimp do you have in your linguini?”
“Ten, you?”
“Seven, so you better hand over two of yours otherwise I’m arresting you for unfair pasta.”
“I know it’s Dipper and all, but I still don’t think that unfair pasta is a reasonable charge, Torako.”
“Oh yeah? How many do you have, Mr. Mom?”
“My plate is empty.”
“Then you better throw it all back up so we can count, you little—no, get back here you heathen, you despicable—I want my shrimp, damn you Bentley!”
 -Six hula lessons-
Torako remembers hula lessons in the way that many mainland children remember ballet lessons: fun at first, but progressively more boring the older you got. She got through six years before begging her dads to let her quit and do something actually fun, like hurling, which had a lot more shoving people and ball-chucking and there were sticks you could hit people with. She got hurling lessons for Christmas, and didn’t think of hula again.
When Bentley was five, he wanted to dance with all his heart, watched dancers of a thousand different styles and rhythm move their bodies in ways that made his heart sing with desire. He loved hula the most, the grace and power of it, the sway of heavy skirts and the smell of flowers saturating the air. Philip bought him six lesson’s worth of hula from the local dance center, but that was all he could afford so Bentley moved on to quieter, more realistic dreams with the taste of hula still humming in his bones.
 -Five big fat pigs-
“Those are absolutely hideous,” Bentley said of the five pig statuettes that Torako opened, her face lit up with glee.
“They’re perfect,” she said, hefting one with lopsided eyes and a chef’s hat. “This is everything I ever wanted, and Dad knows me so well. It’s going right in the front entryway, where everybody will see it when they come in and it’s going to be the absolute best.”
Bentley eyed the menacing, overweight figurines and wondered how much he’d need to bribe Dipper (or Torako, for that matter) to move them somewhere a little more out of the way.
-Four flower leis-
Bentley doesn’t remember it, but on his third birthday, he and his father went out to the beach with four leis, carefully cradled in florist’s stasis wrap, and stepped ankle-deep into the water. Philip placed one lei around his own neck, one around his son’s, and twisted the other two around a stone the size of two fists put together. He hefted it in his hand, the weight of his son heavy in his other arm, and closed his eyes. “Susan,” he murmured, and a slight chill from the mid-December breeze caught the hair on the back of his neck right before he threw the stone into the ocean, the juice of crushed flowers lingering on the skin of his palm and in the crease of his fingers even as the ocean swallowed the stone, the flowers, with softer embrace than it had his wife.
 -Three dried aku-
Torako threw a package of dried aku at Dipper, pouting as she did so. “No fair,” she whined, “Bentley got me those for Christmas, and do you know how hard it is to get actual dried aku on the mainland?” Dipper, mid-bite of skipback tuna, grinned at her with dried fish stuck between his sharkish teeth, and said, “Well, it’s worth the deal then, isn’t it?”
 -Two coconuts-
“Hey handsome,” Torako purred, and when Bentley turned despite his better instincts there she was, lounging on the table in nothing more than a santa hat, a coconut bra, and one of those silly plastic wrap skirts cheap tourist places in the Californian Federation liked to sell. Torako opened her mouth, cupped one of the coconuts on her chest; before she could speak, Bentley interrupted with a “No, Torako, I don’t want to buy a coconut or drink any milk, get out of my kitchen before I brain you with the rolling pin.”
-and One myna bird in one papaya tree
Bentley had distinct memories of early December in his childhood, laying under the papaya trees in the park with his father, snacking on sweet lumpia and listening to the endless chatter of the myna birds above, laughing when his father talked to them and the starlings echoed his own words back, no matter how silly or sweet.

Train Your Brain: 6 Mindful Activities for Seniors
Tumblr media
Staying In The Game As we age, it’s crucial to keep our minds stimulated and in proper working order. And one of the absolute best ways to train your brain is to incorporate a few mindful activities into our everyday lifestyle. If you’re unfamiliar with the word mindfulness and don’t quite grasp what it means, here’s a breakdown: Mindfulness is a primary mental state where one focuses on being present and “in the moment.” The good news is that you can be mindful and in the moment through a variety of activities! Whether you find a new creative outlet or begin meditation, there are countless ways you can train your brain to be more focused. To train and engage your brain, here are six mindful activities for seniors to keep themselves at the top of their game. Start Meditation According to neuropsychologist Jean Lengenfelder, meditation can enhance short-term and long-term memory. And while meditation can indeed center and ground anyone who practices, it has incredible benefits for older adults, too. Meditation has been proven to preserve cognitive function in older folks and seniors who are beginning to struggle with memory and cognition. According to a 2014 review of a dozen studies involving seniors and older adults, meditation has also been linked with positive effects on executive function, processing speed and general cognition. It even staves off Alzheimer’s and reduces loneliness. And meditation can be practiced just about anywhere. In fact, it’s perfect for older adults and seniors with mobility issues. It’s also quite easy to follow along with guided instructors through YouTube or even apps on your phone. The main thing to remember about meditation is that your mind will always wander. And that’s okay. In fact, that’s the point. The goal of meditation is to simply check in on yourself, by whatever technique you prefer. Some of these meditation techniques include a body scan, where you mentally run through your body in search of tension and then release your tight muscles. Another meditation technique that’s perfect for novice meditators is breath awareness, where you practice and focus on slow and deep breathing, which improves concentration and reduces anxiety. Tend a Garden Gardens offer a wonderful mindful activity for seniors. It brings a certain level of satisfaction by tending to crops and growing produce, especially those you can enjoy with dinner later. Plus, gardening not only relieves stress, but also improves cognitive abilities and provides mild, low-impact exercise. Even if it’s not a personal garden in your own backyard or a container garden on a porch, you can seek out community gardens. Getting involved with your local community is also a great way to be involved and sociable. This also invites you to engage with fellow neighbors and meet new people for more social interactions, too. Become a Volunteer Especially for seniors who are officially retired, volunteering is a fantastic way to train your brain and stay active. You can volunteer as a guide showing guests around art and history museums, or you can volunteer as an usher, checking tickets and showing people to their seats at theater and concert venues. Plus, you’ll be able to see new exhibits or watch the shows for free! You’ll also get to engage with interesting people and hear new music, which stimulates your brain. Pick Up a Creative Activity While there are several ways seniors can get creative, art offers a much more relaxing mindfulness because it is an activity that seniors can do in the comfort of their own home. Art activities are practically endless! From classic knitting to sculpting pottery to newfangled diamond painting, seniors can find anything that suits their personality and capabilities. In fact, like puzzles and coloring books, diamond art is a fantastic activity to train the brain. It can even be considered a form of mindfulness-based art therapy (MBAT). Having a creative outlet not only offers stress relief and self-expression, but it also fine-tunes cognitive function and hand-eye coordination. It makes you more agile and skillful at everyday tasks. Plus, creative outlets improve concentration and focusing abilities. Engage with Music Engaging with music or attending concerts is another amazing mindful activity. As previously mentioned, you can volunteer at music venues or, alternatively, you can simply grab a pair of headphones and tune in to your favorite classical symphonies. You can also immerse yourself in a singing group or local choir to train your brain to read sheet music. Taking dance lessons is another way to engage with music, while also getting some low-impact exercises. Sign up alone or with a friend and learn line-dancing or even Zumba. Besides learning a few sweet dance moves, you can also try to learn a new instrument. Some fun and easy instruments are ukuleles, harmonicas and keyboards, which you can learn by watching online instructional videos on YouTube. Read and Write Reading and writing both offer mindful activities that seniors can enjoy. They’re also perfect for seniors with limited mobility or who are uninterested in physical activities. Join a book club to discuss story themes and topics with other members, making friends as well. For those who prefer a more creative outlet, writing is also an excellent activity to practice mindfulness. It can simply be a daily journal where you keep thoughts organized, jot down goals or reflect on events. Besides writing in a more personal journal, you can also try creative writing, exploring different genres, such as cozy mysteries. The point of writing is to improve mental agility and boost your memory. Whatever mindful activity or practice you choose, make sure it’s one you enjoy. That way, you’ll be excited to return to it again and again to appreciate being in the moment. Set a schedule and set a daily or weekly reminder to ensure to train your brain to stay focused, alert and in tune with yourself, physically, mentally and emotionally. And remember to stay young at heart! If seeking help.   Read the full article

The Complete ARPEGGIO SONGS Guitar Course: Beautify Songs! ##Edx #ARPEGGIO #Beautify #Complete #Guitar #Songs The Complete ARPEGGIO SONGS Guitar Course: Beautify Songs! Are you tired of the same boring way of playing songs - only by strumming them? ("down-down-up", etc.) In this course - you will learn how to play song using arpeggio picking - which I like to call "the #1 way to beautify ANY song". After this course, you will be able to EASILY play any song that you love while using this special guitar technique. Even if originally it's a song that was played by using full strums - you will learn how to "convert" it. --- Think about the following songs - can you recall the guitar picking style that makes them sound special and stand out? I bet you do for at least some of them: Green Day - Time of Your Life Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven The Eagles - Hotel California Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah Bob Dylan - Don't Think Twice It's Alright Fleetwood Mac - Landslide The Animals - House of The Rising Sun R.E.M - Everybody Hurts This picking style - called arpeggio picking - where we pick the notes individually instead of strumming all strings together - is the topic of the course. This is personally my favorite way to play songs in - and I also really like to take songs that are originally strummed and instead spice them up using arpeggios.  You will learn exactly how to use the beautiful arpeggio technique and incorporate it into any song that you'll choose to: All about playing songs using the arpeggio picking - and that means that we will be talking practically and using examples from popular rock and pop songs. Exactly how to convert ANY regular (strummed) song into an interesting, arpeggiated one. How to use the arpeggio technique both by using a pick or by using your fingers. (Fingerstyle arpeggio) The #1 secret for smoothness and accuracy when playing arpeggios - that when a friend told it to me a decade ago - my whole approach to arpeggios became a lot more natural and easy, AND I sounded way better.  When and in what parts of the songs it'll usually sound better if you'll use arpeggios instead of regular strums.  You'll be able to write songs using the arpeggio technique - songs that'll be a lot more unique. Learn the exact arpeggio patterns for songs ranging from Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley, R.E.M and many other greats. I will teach you a technique that I call the "Arpeggio Bass Stairways" - where you can add gorgeous, interesting transitions 9walk-ups & walk-downs) between the different chords of the song. How to make your arpeggios "dirty", so you can add some power to the more intense parts of the song while still not playing the simple "down-down-up" kind of rhythm. On top of that, as a bonus, you will learn many more things (see below) that will be of a huge help along your guitar journeys, some of them really took me years to find out. Band of the Week: Izie
Tumblr media
Photo courtesy of Izie through his Tumblr blog
About
Izie is a 17-year-old non-binary, gay trans multi-instrumentalist. He began his music career by taking on-and-off piano lessons through the ages five and 13. While songwriting has always been an interest to him, it wasn’t until he received his first guitar in eighth grade when he started to explore, discover and experiment with different music styles and ideas. Using YouTube and guesswork, he also eventually picked up the bass, ukulele and harmonica.
We got to talk with Izie through a Skype interview about his music career, and he said, “[I like music because] my mind is always racing, but music is really grounding for me. I always need to be doing something with my hands, and when I'm making music, I'm able to slow myself down. It's really therapeutic.”
Next year, Izie will be pursuing music composition in college to fine-tune his songwriting skills and to accomplish his goal of becoming a professional musician. However, another huge goal of his is to make music more accessible: “[Music is] an important way to communicate. I want to make [music] more accessible, because it's such a good thing. There's so many good ways it can be used, like in therapy and to just get ideas out there; I just love the idea of everyone being able to put their ideas out there."
Sounds Like
Self-described as “Amateur Bedroom”, Izie draws his inspiration from artists like Wavves, Surf Curse, Elvis Depressedly and Alex G. He also cites Elliot Smith to be a huge inspiration: “Listening to Elliot Smith puts me in a creative mode. [His] music is really meditative. It's easy to listen to; it's a little bit sad sometimes, but other than that, I don't know, it makes me happy and a bit nostalgic too, cause my mom used to listen to it when I was little.”
This kind of nostalgia is an example of the types of emotions Izie aims to capture in his music. His songwriting process is primarily based on the mood he hopes to convey, trying to fit his lyrics and melodies to help communicate it.
“My process with songwriting is all over the place, and I like to keep it inconsistent because I think it brings a nice variety,” Izie said. “I put a ton of focus in the melody, but lately I've been trying to focus on the lyrics cause I want to strengthen that…I write a lot about my relationships and that's pretty common, but it's a good thing to do because it's an easy place to pull emotions from and it has a lot of depth.”
Izie records his music by using his phone and edits it on his computer using Garageband. Although Izie believes he could find better equipment to record and edit, he wants to prove music’s accessibility in that you “don’t have to know anything about music to put your fingers on a guitar and mess around until something sounds good.” Izie especially found inspiration in this belief through Alex G, who produces unconventional music, according to Izie.
“I look up to Alex G, because he makes some weird music. He's really widening my perspective about what can possibly sound good, and he’s challenging the ideal,” said Izie. “His music sounds bad sometimes, and I love that. It's almost like an acquired taste because listening to it at first it sounds like somebody doesn't know what they're doing. It's like abstract art where there's an element to it that's uneasy, and it just takes a moment for it to settle in as an entire piece. I want to be able to make bold moves like that [as an artist], because that also makes music more accessible, since it’s so much more about the sound than about any other aspect of creating music."
Although Izie is not yet sure of what these “bold moves” entail, he is still looking for his original sound.
“I think we're at a point where there can't be original ideas anymore, because there's just too many out there. And I think the only way to get an original sound is to copy literally everybody and pull inspiration from every artist and genre you possibly can. Because there's always something to draw away from them,” Izie said.
Music
Izie released his first EP on his Bandcamp and Soundcloud earlier this year. You can also check out his music covers on his YouTube channel!
Thoughts on representation in the Alternative scene
Izie has only released his music online through Tumblr, and has received positive support so far. However, he believes that once he delves deeper into the industry, he will inevitably encounter challenges regarding his identity. Especially with the latest PWR BTTM fallout, Izie believes that it just highlighted how little non-binary and trans representation there is in the alternative scene.
"Representation is totally important and I cannot even begin to explain how let down I was with the whole PWR BTTM thing, because the fact that there were two adults who were also non-binary making fantastic music was the best thing ever. To have that taken away sucks, but also, fuck them,” said Izie.
“It's really daunting going into the music industry. I don't just want to become my gender,” Izie continued. “If we had more trans people in the music scene, then other trans people would probably be able to enter it more smoothly and there wouldn't be so much focus on the fact that they’re trans and there could be more focus on the fact that they make music, since we're all just people who are making music. But we still need the perspective from people who are different. It's just that idea of making music more accessible again. I don’t like to think that someone would be hesitant to put out their music because they don't want to be ridiculed for being trans or gay. That shouldn't stop people from wanting to be creative.”
