It’s that time again people - what we have been looking forward to since last this happened . WEEKEND🔆 . There have been lots to be celebrated this week, and still is✅ . And on top of all that, tomorrow is World Gin Day - so keep that in mind💡 . Today I want to talk about Kornbrand and Syrups . @berlinerbrandstifter was kind enough to send me their Kornbrand (in english “Grain Brandy” or “Grain spirit”) so immediately had to try it out to find out what the fuss was about🤓 . Kornbrand, or simply Korn, often has high purity and mild tastes. BB bottles and numbers all by hand, in order to make each bottle one a kind - needless to say I felt special when holding this in my hands, and soon enough in my glass. Over 15,000 grains of wheat go into the production of a single 0.7L bottle and the spirit holds 38%. There is a lot of prohibited processes making this kind of spirit, therefore the proces is really complex⚖️ . The wheat is filtered 7 fold and therefore also the purity - making the wheat’s fine notes preserved. The tasting notes is a clean sweet wheat character, and I would use this as I would with a fine gin or even vodka - having its own unique taste and aroma . I also recently received some fine syrups, which really came in handy when wanting to create a delicious cocktail for this great Friday . @herbert_dk This quite new brand, founded by Slovak Mario Marko, wanted to make some excellent syrups to enter the barscene - safe to say he has really made his mark allready in my homebar🥂 . These syrups is cold infused, which keeps it as natural tasting as possible (not the cheapest way to produce em btw). They have focused on making tastes that reacts delicious together, by studying each herb, tea and spice, thus making the right balance. The syrups can be used as base for lemonades, cocktails/mocktails, ice creams, cheesecakes, salads etc - I of course took the Cocktail route😍 . BLUE THYME . 2.5 CL Pure Grain spirit 2.5 CL Aperol (@aperolspritzdk ) 2.5 CL Blue Curacao (@monin_europe ) 2.5 CL Fresh Lime juice 2.5 CL Thyme and Lemon Syrup Stir all well with ice❄️ Fine strain into chilled glass (@mixmeister ) Enjoy🔆 Skål🥂 (her: Viborg, Denmark)

🔥Berlin Brandstifter aromatised vodka🔥 Berlin native Vincent Honrodt has been dedicated to carrying on his family’s legacy in the spirits industry since 2009. In the 1920’s Honrodt’s great-grandfather was director of the sugar factory Vossberg, where he began distilling fine spirits from sugar cane and local grains. All ingredients used in the production of Berlin Vodka are sourced from areas in and around Berlin. Vodka undergo a 7fold filtration and 5fold distillation process and are then bottled by hand.
