I hope they retcon the Ben 10010 future for multiple reasons. One of them being it makes no sense that Ben 1000 wouldn't know about past Ben unlocking surge unless they are going to pull what they did with the original Ben 10000 where it's an alternate future and not the actual future. Also I'm not a fan of Glitch getting stuck as hitch.

Ben 10,010 was low key awful. I don't like how they followed up on Glitch. I don't like how they handled the end of the world. I don't like that this Ben became a trash hobo with literal garbage friends. I HATE how they handled Kevin being abandoned. And I don't buy for a second that Gwen would trust any of those villains and put them in charge of anything (except Hex).

But it has to be an alternate timeline to make any amount of sense. Outside of both Ben's Surge forms looking different, which Alien X-tinction shows is a feature of alien forms from different timelines, a branch off the reboot sure but still a distinctly different timeline. Once Reboot!Ben was taken to the future getting there should be impossible. Reboot!Ben would have knowledge of what happened and how to stop it and the original point is they didn't know. That's usually the only way to avoid narrative paradoxes, they have to be different.

I won't lie I genuinely believe every special follows a different Ben then who we followed in the show and movie. It doesn't help the writing at all but it makes more sense to me. It's biggest crime its that it was boring. It had a plot it wanted use and took the safest options to tell it. Just in a very "don't think about it" way.

I tried to watch Ben 10 reboot

And at first I was like "well, that looks funny, some different stories, but that's funny"

I watched first season somewhat normally, but I skipped a lot of episodes, cause I wanted some plot

I haven't got one

So I just watched specials

Still bad

The Ben 10010 was meh, but I liked the chubby adult ben (fuck those who made him skinny at the end again) and I liked how villains became part of the government

Hated the fact that GWEN DOESN'T HAVE MAGIC

The Ben gen was nice actually though I would love if Rex became part of the team and traveled with them

Some mixed feelings about alien x tinction

Cause they shouldn't have made the main "villain" a CELESTIALSAPIAN

like... alian x is almost a God and could be beaten only by another celestialsapian as we seen at the trial in omniverse

Also alian x controlled by three minds who need to all agree just to move a finger. That was until the trial in omniverse. And Ben who turned "evil" alian x lost his grandpa and Gwen before the trial, so he can't use alian x

But, only, we can imagine that mind of one celestialsapian exist in all dimensions and timelines at the same time

But then there's the question

HOW THE FUCK DID THEY DEFITED A GOD! ALIAN X CAN LITERALLY CREATE UNIVERSES AND HE IS DEFITED BY A BUNCH OF KIDS?

It was a very bad choice for a villain

I have many other complaints about the reboot, but whatever

Tonight I made some non-serious posts about Ben 10,010, the first “movie” in the Ben 10 Reboot’s fifth season, but now it’s time to get into the thing that actually bother me.

Before I saw the episodes, I did see a handful of posts here on tumblr saying that Ben 10K was “ruined” and they just made him a depressed dad character. Which I can understand why people would be upset about that. Ben 10K is a really cool character and the reboot version is pretty far from what we usually associate with him.

I personally just saw it as a different take on the character which is always fun and I liked that they had this scruffier, out of shape, less heroic version of him. Life doesn’t always work out the way you’d expect. Staying in shape is hard. Adults have back pain all the time. Sometimes you don’t really care anymore. At some point, you just want to get through the day. Heroes are amazing and all but it’s always nice to see that they’re just people and everyone lose their way sometimes.

My problem is that at the end of the movie, Ben shaved and got back in shape. Sure, he looked more like his old self and that was fun to see but he also looked like the idea of what a hero should be: muscular, clean, and fired up. But you don’t need to look like a hero to be a hero. Why couldn’t he be a hero as he was? 

The whole transformation just seemed really unnecessary. Ben shaved and suddenly he was all ripped and ready to face the world. Not exactly the most body positive moment. If it wasn’t so sudden, I’d probably have less of an issue with it. Ben put in the work to grow emotionally and if they’d shown that he wanted to take that extra step, I’d be happy with that but instead they just showed that you have to look like a hero to be one.

Okay, Ben 10,010 was significantly better than Alien X-tinction! It had a few genuinely heartfelt moments and the jokes weren’t anywhere near as obnoxious as in Alien X-tinction. Odd choice of aliens though - Buzzshock and Spidermonkey? Really?? I mean, they’re fine, I like them, but are those really the aliens you want to be showcasing in your big hyped up tv special??

Alien X-Tinction Prediction

I’m not sure if these are spoilers but theories and ramblings below the cut anyways

There are 9 Omnitrix symbols (all with their faceplates removed)

There Are a total of 10 main Bens stringing off from the Prime timelines, with only 8 of them being Omnitrix weilders (No Watch and Eon lack Omnitrices)

Kenny is also an Omnitrix wielder, making 9 omnitrix’s total. (what I hope but don’t expect to be accounted for)

Or can also make 9 if you count Omniverse!Ben 10k’s Biomnitrixes as individual Omnitrixs (the really lazy way)

Or (the least likely) Ultimate Ben also makes 9 

Or (the most likely) you can Also make 9 if you count Ben 10010. 

Meaning a few things:

If we are following the Biomnitrix (ie, Omnivere!Ben 10k) Timeline, all of the Ben’s (from the Time war) have likely been fused into some sort of mega Alien X. 

Leaving Ben Prime and Reboot!Ben to fight him. 

HOWEVER, Dimension Reboot is the ONLY known dimension to have an Omnitrix wielding Kevin, which will throw everyone outside this dimension for a loop. (albeit its home made but shown in Ben 10010 to be repaired and fully functioning at some point)

[I doubt their going to bring Kenny/ Chrono-Spanner in, unless the bring in Paradox, but I’m not eliminating him completely.]

[I REALLY hope they bring in the Alternate Team Tennysons because I want to see a gathering of Kevins, and Gwens as well as Bens, okay?]
