I would like to say that S5 E4 is probably my third favorite episode. Not only did we get some of the best dialogue with Rayla and Amaya, and seeing Amaya tell Rayla how wrong she was for leaving Callum.
But I also love that Rayla, while admitting in a way that she was wrong and feels guilt for it, still defends herself in a sense of why she couldn't bear to put Callum in danger. How much she horribly feared losing him to Viren. She believed that she had to be strong, stoic, and fearless no matter what.
Seeing Amaya, while telling Rayla her decision was wrong, still listens to her and, while, of course, not agreeing with it, but still being compassionate and understanding towards Rayla about why she felt this way so much because it reminded her so heavily of herself. How she had lived through the most darkest time of her life. How she felt lost, heartbroken, and alone after losing her sister, Sarai. She used to be and think the exact same way Rayla did. But having found love with Janai taught her how their love, loyalty, dedication, and commitment gave her the reassurance of how she was not alone. That it gives you the strength to trust and share your your burdens with someone who loves you, cares for you, who's devoted to you, and is always there for you. Then, passing her newfound wisdom and advice to Rayla and Rayla gaining a newfound understanding and reassurance while remembering their journey together was absolutely beautiful and incredible.

the rose blooms nobly🌹
when I saw this shot in argenti's trailer, of course I immediately had to think of a corresponding scene from the rose of versailles op ❤️
I'm so weak for characters like this...
