hey guys did u kno in the mygo band story instead of showing soyos childhood bc they cant fucking show that they instead give her an internal monologue where she says (im paraphrasing ) no matter how hard she tried to be useful to people, she always felt lonely and then she agreed to the band (crychic) bc saki asked her to and she thought Oh Great i can be useful to her too^^ and then when saki says their band is fate it made her feel "warm" (something tomori often uses as a descriptor for her feelings) and being with the other members of crychic, for the first time since her parents divorce she didnt feel lonely.

#overall the garupa version falls flat in a lot of areas #but this particular part i really liked personally #i havent gone through the whole story bc its 40 fucking chapters #but this part really reminded me of how they did tomoris part early in the anime #this chapter starts with soyo saying 'i remember feeling very lonely when my mum and dad divorced' #and it reminded me of tomori saying 'ive always thought it would be good if i could save up my tears for when im sad' #bc in the anime they kinda just blasted through soyo backstory in a few minutes #and whilst the lack of internal monologue could be a stylistic choice to emphasise her loneliness #its also nice to get a bit more of her thoughts on things imo
