You know that scene in Bayonetta 2 where she fires a bunch of bullets at Baldur, he Light Speeds (Witch Times) and spread the bullets just a foot behind her - and when time resumes she instantly turns around and dodges them flawlessly?
I knew I had a problem with how all those Bayo Variants kept getting caught by surprise.
Sorry for disappearing you guoys, I'm having awesome jobhunting adventures (started going to job interviews in Prague and dying because it's EXPENSIVE) and awesome final adventures (I already failed two of my exams and need to retake them) 😁
I should NOT have watched the trailer for Bayonetta 3 that just dropped because I am SO fucking confused as to what the story of this game is supposed to be.
people out there talking about how “if you liked bayo1 and didn’t liked bayo2 you probably going to like bayo3 or like it already″ and i don’t know where the hell they are coming from because bayo3 spirals from having potential to being the best one in the series to being the worst one really fast
and not as fast as the other two
I really think Bayonetta 3 needs to go down in history as one of the greatest games of all time that unfortunately has some of the worst writing you're ever gonna see.
Like on the design level everything about Bayonetta 3 is a gigantic improvement over everything that came before. The technical aspects of this game are nothing short of stellar and by god does this game have some of the best music and action setpieces i've ever seen in a video game. It looks fantastic and somehow through black magic it runs on the fucking toaster that is the Nintendo Switch and runs well.
So it really breaks my heart that the actual story of this game is such a dump. i'm not gonna talk spoilers rn but nothing makes sense nothing is explained nothing is addressed. And it goes for a big climatic emotional finish that feels completely hollow to me.
Idk i feel everybody who did the actual programming and design for this game did such a fantastic work that shows a lot of love and dedication to this franchise and the story feels like it was written by people that couldn't give less of a shit. It's not about ships or anything like that there are stories i love that suffer from chronic heteronormativity but are still great stories. Bayonetta 3 is just really really really really badly written as a story. It's just not good. It's downright awful and sometimes even feels a little too mean for no good reason.
You should play it if you like action games because it's a fucking masterpiece in that regard. If you're here for the story you might want to go watch a playthrough on youtube and save the money (maybe donate it to a pro-choice charity lmao).
I'm not sad i'm just disappointed they fumbled a very important part of what would be an easy 10/10 game if the writing was at least on par with the previous games.
read a couple reviews and watched a video on bayo3 from someone whose opinions i believe to hold weight and it really left me feeling empty how every doubt i had about that game got confirmed to be true and more
