so im two years late, but i finally finished assassin’s creed: origins and i just gotta say. goddamn lol

this game is so sad, it will rip your heart out, but its probably one of the better games ive ever played. i’d even go so far as to say that its one of the better stories ive ever consumed. it is one of the most immersive games i’ve ever played, i just cant even describe it lol. its very clear that a lot of love was poured into this game and you can see the dedication in everything from the setting design, the character design, all of the intricacies that become apparent if you just pay enough attention to it. not to mention the voice acting, holy shit. the cast definitely deserve some type of award.

don’t even get me started on how much i love bayek’s character lol. for being - at the most basic level - what i can describe as an “action hero”, bayek is so human. so very rarely these days do we get any sort of male protagonist that is more than just angry, cynical, and violent. i mean he was those things, but more so he was vulnerable, emotional, guilty, traumatized, happy, kind, caring, etc and it was just so refreshing. abubakar salim’s delivery of bayek was just so incredible and convincing and that man has such range as a voice actor, i couldn’t imagine the role having gone to anyone else. just wow lol

also the death of hepzefa was impactful, plus ive just been thinking about it and how beautiful/tragic that scene was. poor bayek and poor hepzefa
