You got me in an old Barbie movie watching mood and I just remembered that Fairytopia existed and

Shadow Android as the mock Sunburst...

Skfjxsvz correct minds think alike <3 I've been holding this back buuut.....

I actually did a redraw of one of the promo images for Mermaidia several months ago, based on their Sonic Boom designs with my reasoning being that it's an alternate dimension from Magic of Pegasus so it'd have alternate dimension versions of the characters.

Shadow's stripes are blue and purple and Sonic's sports tape is green and pink <3 Sonic has prosthetic wings made of flower petals like in Barbie Thumbelina. Shadow is a merhog in this drawing but later I thought that the Ultimate Lifeform should be a merfairy (not to mention if he's part fairy then he can still be Sunburst like in your idea, then he and Sonic have past history... LIKE IN THE SHOW-), and then I imagined the part where they have all their weird fae rules about how they give important information and imagined:

Sonic: "Cmon, can't you just tell me where the oracle is?"

Shadow: "Fool, don't you realize merfairies only give information after we've invited you to eat above water?"

Sonic: "So... invite me to eat above water."

Shadow: "No." *swims away to brood in an underwater cave*

Sonic can't swim obv so the only thing keeping him from drowning is the "breathe underwater" seaweed, so he eventually has to trade his legs for a merhog tail to even get around on his mission in Mermaidia and it's So Hard because oh no!!! Sonic's speed!!!! And then it becomes a thing about how his worth as a person is inherent and whether or not he'll ever run again does not mean he isn't still Sonic <3

Alsooooo the part where Elina and Nori have that big race but make it sonadow aaaaaa

(can you tell Mermaidia is the only Fairytopia movie I had on DVD as a kid lol. I had a huge mermaid bias but have since seen the whole trilogy)

And then I was thinking about who Sticks could be but then I was thinking about how she like grew up in the wilderness on an island and THEN I thought "what if Fairytopia was a mysterious island just past the rainbow but somehow Sticks got trapped there as a child and grew up amongst the fairies" STICKS AS THE ISLAND PRINCESS!!!!!!

Sticks finding out she's a lost princess, distraught: "I'm the Man!!!!!"
