Bazaar to talk with a hot guy “BamBam” Kunpimook Bhuwakul, a globally famous Thai artist, about his life and lifestyle that makes him an ideal guy to many people

Harper's BAZAAR: The ideal guy BamBam – we heard that you love to do the chores very much
BB: Truthfully, I quite like things to be neat and clean krub. Whether they are my house, utensils, or things that I use in my daily life, I want them to be as clean as possible. I do house chores everyday, no exception at all krub. Even when I finished my schedule late at night, when I got back home, I would always do the house chores before I go to bath. I think it’s become my habit now.
HB: Why did you decide to adopt cats with health problems that were given to you, rather than buying new cats?
BB: Actually, it is not that critical to be called as health problem krub. One of my kid, his name is Latte – when he was young his skin condition was not as good as the others so his former owner was unable to handle it and ask me to raise him instead. As to the other kids, each of them also has their own story, not only the heath issue. As to the reason why I choose cats, actually, at my house in Thailand, my mom loves to raise dogs. However, I’m not a dog person. Dogs are hyperactive and need a lot of care. We need to take them for walks, and when we returned home, they would be happy and has a lot of energy which is higher than what I can take krub (LOL). I think that I do not like things with a lot of energy, so when I first met with a cat, I feel like it was destiny. At first, I did not adopt it immediately, I just take care of it for temporary. However, after a while, I really like and attach to it, so I decided to adopt him krub.
HB: What music genre is your style?
BB: Mostly I listen to the songs with beats krub. However, I do not like the song that is too fast. I like the song which has bpm (beats per minutes) around 180 which are the song that I can listen to it while chilling out or I may grooving on it krub.
HB: Which one is your most favorite tattoo? Does it has a specific meaning and what did you think of at that moment of tattooing it?
BB: Actually, I like them all krub. None of them gives me the feeling like – I should not have you. My most favorite should be this one (BB showing us his nape). These are the birthdays of my mom and my dad next to each other. I wish that they will always stay next to each other. I got these tattoos at home instead of at the shop. It was almost a year and a half when I was on hiatus. I had a meeting with the tattoo artist at my house, I did not plan to have a tattoo – just meeting for chilling dinner and playing some games. We talked about tattoo and he just mentioned that he had the tattoo equipment with him and if I’d like, he can apply tattoo to me. I happened to have the tattoo I want at that time, so the tattooing then happened at my house krub.
HB: Fans who haa a chance to watch “Bam House” in youtube channel noticed that you are interested in making the crafted beer and offering it to the guest at Bam House. What is the charm of crafted beer that makes you like it, and what type of beers is your style?
BB: Apart from beers, I do not like other drinks krub - be it wine, champagne, soju. I chose beer because it is not too strong and chilling. I am not a heavy drinker nor drink for drunk. I drink to have some relaxation before the end of the day. Like when you came home from work, when you opened the beer can, it gave you some relaxation. Still, I do not drink everyday for fearing that I will have a big belly krub.
The most charming point of beer in my view would be its gas – does people call it gas krub? You know, when you drink it, it will give you a refreshing feeling (doing the fizzing sound). Do you get it? (LOL). The first time I drink beer was when I turned 21. I was practicing a dance, it was a very tiring day – and then my dance teacher suggested to me that when I get back home, I should take a bath and then have a cold beer, so I tried it. After a bath, I took my most favorite and comfortable pajamas, I blew my hair for around 50% - I give you so much details (LOL) – and after that I was sitting with a chilling music and turn-off the light, then opened the beer can (doing the can opening sound) – it’s like I got an energy from the opening of the beer can, and when I drank it – I felt its fizziness down to my toes (LOL). It is a feeling that I never had before, even though I had lived for 21 years, so I like to drink beer ever since krub.
HB: When you are tired or discouraged, what gives your good motivation/encouragement?
BB: In the past, there were many things krub. At present, if I answer that it is my family, it will be just like in other interviews so let’s say that lately my encouragement comes from my current happiness krub. I have debuted for 9 years already, there were many dreams that have been come true, and some that I am still on my way to reach them. Other than that I think it is despite a case where though you are tired from our work, but then realized that we are in the life we used to dream of krub. My most important motivation is that I should try to cherish the thing I have, and it gives me a feeling like – to be able to stand at the place where I am now, I am explosively happy so I should not feel discouraged from a petty thing. If I stop doing my current work, I will have to go back and live the way I used to be. The feeling and idea that I should be happy with the things I currently have really lessen my stress and make me feel appreciated and thankful with the smallest things I have in my daily life krub.
HB: Does being a Thai in Korea give you any implication to a journey to your dream?
BB: Not at all krub. In the past, it might be, but for now, I think I get used to it. I lived in Thailand for 12 years, and then stayed in Korea for another 12 years – half to half actually so I get used to it. Moreover, now, many Thais become idols in Korea [I will give you the list below krub (LOL)] so I think Korean people are accepted Thai people more krub. There might be some cases where at first they do not get used to Thai people, but it has changed now. Also, Korean people like to visit Thailand for their vacations so it is like they are more accessing to /adapting to Thai customs, so it does not give any implication to me now krub.
HB: Will there be a chance for us to see BamBam in any new role like an actor?
BB: Oh! That will be hard krub (LOL). Actually, right now, after I started my solo career for 2 years, whether it is advertisement, music or other things, I want to show my music style to everyone first before I start other career path. Therefore, it will not happen soon krub (smile).
HB: Will you participate in activities or works in Thailand more?
BB: I think I visited Thailand a lot last year – every month, I think. For this year, I had already told some of my fans that I think many fans think that I visited Thailand too many that it might bores some people, so I think that after May this year, I will not return to Thailand until next year krub.
HB: We believe that Thai kids or kids elsewhere which have dream also looking at you as one of their idols, do you have anything to tell them?
BB: I think I may not be at the point where I can be deemed as their dream idol krub, but if I can give a suggestion, I would say if you have a dream to be this or that, you should try to imagine yourself in such position, and then imprinted it within your mind - and then one day your imagination will come true – just like doing some tricks to make things come true. For example, if you wish to stay in your dream home, try to imagine about it – it might take 5 years, or 10 years, but one day your imagination may come true – So I would like everyone that have a dream to try imagine about that moment and always keep it in your mind for your whole life krub.

That Could've Been Me
I'm still working on the brainstorms but I found this in my documents and hoped it would hold you. A random idea I thought of. Maybe Jennie's private dance practice videos would leak when one of her dance friends gets hacked on Instagram and the hacker posts a few videos of Jen dancing sexy to expand her skill. This is just some randomness. Not sure when I'd put it in if I decide to :)

"Ah, shit...here we go..." Jennie groaned, feeling her face flush with embarrassment as she scrolled through the comments of her latest Instagram photo regarding her dance videos.
The list went on with likes from fans, celeb friends, nonceleb friends and everyone else coming through to her page out of curiosity. So many people were liking the post on her friend's page with the various dance videos and it was NOT supposed to happen. Sure, it was just her dancing but she didn’t want them posted. Especially when she was still in practice mode and was not up to her standards for dancing this type of style. She wanted to post something about her progress but not yet. The leaks gave her whiplash as her notifications began to blow up.

It amused her to see how they were all going on about it. She had planned to post some progress when she felt better about her technique with it. Now everybody knew she was learning a more sensual way of dancing.

Jennie checked her phone to read her friend's text, 'Jen omfg I'm so sorry about all this! Idk how I got hacked!'
She sighed. No point in getting angry about it. It wasn't her fault. People have no respect for privacy these days.
Jen: Gurl it's fine...it's pretty much out of our control now. PLEASE do that two step factor for your log in lol.
Her mind wandered to the guys. Oh man, she hoped Jungkook didn't see them. Or the members. The last thing she needed was to hear their reactions to it all.
Trying to ignore the chaos, she avoided social media and went about her day like normal. She managed to avoid the members who went about their day freely, out of the dorm while she stayed at the dorm, chilling in her room. The one person she wanted to avoid the most about it was Jungkook and it seemed like perhaps she had been spared by his reaction.
However, she would be very wrong.
Jungkook knew.
Earlier that day, scrolling through Twitter he saw that Jen was trending. Shooked, wasn’t even the best word to describe his reaction as he leaned in close, tilting his head, focused on the screen when it showed her leaked sexy dance covers.
He couldn’t help but feel envy overcome him when he saw that a lot of male idols had seen it before him and posted some flirty comments on her Instagram page thanks to screenshots from ARMY on Twitter to document how people were reacting.
How come she didn’t ask him to dance with her? All that grinding looked like it could use a partner and could lead to something much more physical than dancing if they wanted to go that far.
As Jennie walked into the kitchen, her stomach dropped when she saw Jungkook sitting on the couch, on his phone. It looked like he had been the only member to return from going out.
"H—Hey! You're back. What's up?" she blurted out, trying to hide her nervousness.
Jungkook looked up and smiled. "Hey, I just got back. You all right?"
"Yeah! Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
He nodded as he watched her closely. "Anything interesting happen today?"
"No, no, not at all. Things are fine. I'm just...playing the sims," she nervously laughed.
"I see. I'm going to make noodles. You want some?"
"Yes, please. Thanks," she smiled and went back to her room to continue playing her game.
'Ok...maybe I'm in the clear...' she thought to herself as she started to relax a bit more.
After eating with him, the two hung out in her room with him sitting in her chair by her desk while she sat on her bed, watching a Marvel movie with him. Distracted was an understatement as Jungkook's mind continued to wander back to her videos and he finally decided to speak up about it.
"So, film any dance covers as of late?" he asked out of nowhere, causing her to almost choke on her water.
'Shit.' she thought in alarm, stiffening at his question.
She placed her water down and turned to him. "I—I can explain!"
"I'm listening," he leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees.
"I was just messing around,"
"Yeah, that one video of you messing around with that chair was very interesting,"
"It wasn't anything, okay? It's not a big deal,"
"To everybody else on your Instagram, it seems that it is,"
She groaned. “It wasn’t even that great. I didn’t want them posted because it wasn’t up to my standards, yet. I still wanted to practice,"
“It wasn’t that great? Do you understand how crazy those videos were driving me? My girlfriend’s dance covers get leaked and it’s nothing but sexy dances and I have to see all these male idols commenting under her page.”
She watched him express himself. The jealousy radiated off him as he poked the inside of his cheek and shook his head.
“That could’ve been me on that chair, too," he went on. "And that could’ve been me you were grinding on. I want to see it. Right here. Right now,"
"Right now!?" she exclaimed as her eyes widened. "Are you for real?"
He bit his lower lip softly and leaned back against the chair with his gaze on her intensifying.
"Yeah...lock the door,"

Revealing BamBam’s heart: How his first solo World Tour mean to him

It was a bomb to music industry, when “BamBam – Kunpimook Bhuwakul” or “BamBam GOT7” the well-known K-Pop artist with Thai nationality, growing experiences till the day that he is ready to throw his own soloist world tour “2023-2024 BamBam the 1st World Tour [Area 52] in Bangkok” on 28 October 2023 at 17.00 hrs. at Thunder Dome Stadium. The ticket shall be opened for sale on 10 September 2023 starting from 10.00 hrs. via Thai Ticket Major. Now, before the start of his world tour, “Entertainment News” snatched a time of “BamBam” to reveal his heart that shows his determination, and focus as well as his view toward IGOT7s, a name of GOT7’s fanclub, to ensure and confirm that we made the right choice to love this person!!.
Q1: For “BamBam” how does the word “the 1st World Tour” mean to you?
BB: It’s like I’m growing up for another step. We had our group World Tour for 3 times. I am the last member that just started my soloist world tour because I want to release at least 3 albums first. For me, this is my ultimate dream ever since I started my solo career – after the world tour is finished, I may have other new goals krub.
Q2: How do you prepare yourself for this world tour – for both your body and mind?
BB: I’ve continuously rehearsed for the concert krub. I also returned to workout. With respect to my mentality, I admit that I felt both pressured and excited at the same time, so I try to build up my confidence so that I will have energy to pass to the audience.
Q3: We heard that BamBam has a lot of participation and involvement in this concert – does this give any new experience to you?
BB: I have learnt a lot of behind-the-scenes works. Since this is the 1st World Tour with my new company i.e., ABYSS, they let me participate in almost everything since the first place which includes the stage plan, and benefits give away for this event. They also allow me to get involved in setting the ticket price and shows. All with supporting teams to help. This makes me understand the feeling of the audience even more. Since I have a chance to get involved in all of these, from the perspective of a performer on a stage, I know what the audience wants the most, and what their expectations are. There’re also teams to support me.
Q4: What would you like to convey to fans through this concert?
BB: There’re a lot of things krub. I saw many times that ticket price was increased too much to the extent that it’s unreachable/inaccessible. But for my first world tour, I want it to be like a festival that my fans gathering to celebrate it with me. So, I want to organize the ticket price and every given benefits to be on par with the standard they were used to be in 6-7 years ago, which were accessible to everyone, while the show performed in the concert is exceedingly greater than the ticket price. I want everyone to be happy.
Q5: What would you like the fans to see/acknowledge?
BB: I want them to see/acknowledge the sincerity of me, ABYSS and IME Thailand that is a promoter, and I wish them to see my potential and growth like what I’ve changed and grew during these two and half years during my solo period.
Q6: Since Thailand is your homeland, do you have any special excitement with your first solo concert?
BB: Now – there’ re two more months before the concert – so, I have not yet had any excitement. But I think that my excitement may be skyrocketing on the ticket on-sale date if the result come out as planned.
Q7: Now your fans are super excited.
BB: (smile) I am truly appreciated that krub. Even though there’s no information released – they are looking forward to attend this event already. Thank you to fans that always have trust in me.
Q8: Did you see their excitement and preparation for their costumes/outfits for the concert?
BB: I think that that’s a small event which they can enjoy along with the concert. The fact that they will dress to the theme is one of the activities that made them felt like they are part of the show. They asked me if I have a theme for the concert, and I answered that I did not have any specific dress code. I just told them a key word “Alien” (LOL)
Q9: BamBam is about to have the world tour, how do GOT7’s members support you?
BB: Actually, everyone always supports each other. If you what to know to what extent my members give their supports to me, you may wait and see in my world tour because I cannot say more than this (smile).
Q10: Did you have a chance to talk/update about the life frequently with the members? What is the most issue that you guys are talking about?
BB: Sometimes we talked about our works. We also talked about the music – exchanging our songs and asked each other to give the comments. Since the style of our solo songs are totally different, when we meet each other, we always ask each other if there’s anything we can help each other. If there’s anything we can do, we would like to do so. If we have a chance to meet, we will try to help each other relieves the stress.
Q11: We always see that BamBam is closed with the fans and talked to them a lot in the social network. You also open up for their views such as their proposal for your hairstyle or even to call them back to GOT7 which made you are beloved by them even more….what made you want to get closer to them like this?
BB: Though I call them back – there’s no sign of their return (smile). Well, I personally feel that since I have my own SNS channels, I want to use it as efficiently as I could. I want to communicate with them and want them to participate with me as much as possible. If I just only tell/invite them to my show – I think this is a waste of time. We can use such opportunities to have fun and have them all participated, so I tried to share my moment with them. However, if there’s any thing that I may have to keep as a secret, I have to do so (smile).
Q12: Many say that “BamBam” is an artist who made you feel that he’s your family member, be it – for mommy team, girlfriend team or those who are indecisive like a combination team (something between mom and girlfriend) – do you also feel like that?
BB: For me, fans in each country have their own style. For example, in Thailand – the fans will have their motherhood so much since they see me ever since I was a kid. What they always did are like they really raise me up as their child for real. They always talk with me about my works like “you did really good today”, or “I think this hairdo might not fit you, how about this one”.
Q13: Just like a mother look after her child?
BB: Yes krub. Thai fans usually give out this mother-like feeling. However, for other international fans – they do not have this vibe. They always in fans/girlfriend mode. Like if I go to the USA, or to my latest visit at Mexico, I will be in a 100% manly mode. If I am in Thailand – I will be in a baby mode, but if I go there, I will also be in other mode.
Q14: Do you have any special thing you would like to do or eat during your return to Thailand this time?
BB: There’s nothing new for the food krub. But the newest thing for me is that I had a chance to participate in the Ghost Radio show. I have been their fan for 5 years, and I had a chance to meet with P’ Jack (the DJ) for the first time – and had a chance to create a new record to them. We both happy with this. I am really thankful since fans of the show also acknowledged me as a true fan for this show.
Q15: When you see your fans supporting you in everything be it big or small (e.g., when BamBam got hurt at his eyebrow – IGOT7s also felt hurt), how do you feel about this – does this fill up the good energy in you?
BB: It’s a positive energy to me. Whenever they worried about me, the feeling that I had is that I wish I could repay them. So, this world tour will be a reward/ something that I would use to repay to them for everything all of them gave to me through these years. I tried to repay them as much as I could.
Q16: You’ve gone through so many things on your artist journey and now you have been acknowledged and accepted by fans in many countries including in Korea – you have continuously gained so many loves and supports – how do you feel with your current status?
BB: I would like to thank my fans for still being with me. Seriously, if I release my song but there’s no one listening to it – then, there’s no point making the music. I am grateful that there’re fans who are still supporting me. I don’t know if my fans are increasing, decreasing, or staying the same in numbers, but I also felt that I’ve gained more acceptances in countries that I visited, especially these days in Korea. After I went to the show(s), when I was in Korea – people know me more these days and I’m happy with this.
Q17: When we were children, we used to have inspiration from artists, and now BamBam has become an inspiration to follow your dream for many people. Like recently, Nong Rod-Tu (a hilltribe man who showed up in a tv show in Thailand – having BB as his inspiration) drew your picture and talk about this in the show – how do you feel about this.
BB: When I was young, I had so many artists as my inspirations, but I felt that I did not have any moment with or close to them. When I watched the show that Rod-Tu drew my portrait, I felt really good. I f want to do something to let him know that I got his message, so I put it on my IG story. I am happy to know that now I am at the point that I can be an inspiration for others just like when I used to have other artists as my inspiration, but more than that is I can also interact with them and be more approachable to them.
