I refuse to believe yuichiro wasnt one of thoes goofy dads who love yujiro to death, while yujiro was a angsty" I hate my dad he so fucking embarrassing" type of son. Also, being the type of dad to joke on him a lot, ya know, just typical dad shit

I always think about this moment between yujiro and baki, and how It probably could parallel Yujiro and Yuichiro when it came to showing/giving affection (or how it lines up well with a hc of mine).

Yujiro probably had to deal with the same experience of receiving affection from Yuchiro and absolutely hating it. Yuchiro, being a guy of affection and having a son who isn't for it, Yuchiro would go in for a hug, and yujiro would doge and tell him to back off.

Only for Yuichiro to disappear mid sentence and trap him into a tight bear hug. Yujiro, just like baki, would start screaming and yelling while kicking his feet, trying to get outta of his father powerful but loving grip.

While Yuichiro is just hugging and nuzzling his son, saying, " You're never too old to not give your father a hug"

This chapter is fucjing me up bad, he started off the convo, bringing up how his abilities caught up to his body. It's like he was trying to impress yujiro. Like a kid trying to show off to their parent, then for yujiro to acknowledge him, cause he's able to tell by how he holds himself. Then, to tell him it's not perfect, only to follow it up with "but you're getting there"......I can't do this.

And look how he looks at him......omg, it like he's shocked that yujiro sees his growth......I can't do this

It is so werid seeing yujiro being.....kind? to Jack epically since after what happen between the two of them after baki and Jack's fight, and even after that, he doesn't seem to have anything to say to him or about him. Especially during the pickle arc, where he calls jack a pathetic loser along with evryone else, when everyone broke in to meet pickle( he didnt even bat an eye at him)

Yujiro acts like he only has one child and that child being baki. Even when Tokugawa brings up retsu,katsumi, and Jack's fight with pickle, saying how he doesn't see how baki could win if thoes 3 lost to pickl. Yujiro responded saying "thoes 3 have nothing to do with baki," then saying baki has his blood and that he's a Hanma. Then, when Tokugawa says, (Jack also has your blood. He just brushed it off saying "hes not pure." So, seeing him be so........normal to him while showing dislikement towards him is crazy

Yujiro brings up a quote from Musashi: "In Confrontation, you have to postion yourself above your enemy Musashi". He brings up how Jack getting taller is a shortcut of being over his enemies

look at his expression. He looks hurt. Even tho he hates yujiro, he still cares about his opinion. For him to repeat what yujiro said, then to ask, "Do you dislike it?" He sounds like a kid, a kid who cares deeply about his parent opinion, a kid who doesn't want to disappoint his father.....his facial expression....his body language. It looks like he slowed down a bit while walking like he needed a minute to register what yujiro just said to him.

It's not far off to say Jack cares about yujiro opinions about him to some degree. When Jack lost to pickle for a second time, he could only think of the last words yujiro spoke to him

"Resonate in his heart" i remember reading tha for the first time and wanting to die omg, but seeing him reacted like this isn't surprising, it's very clear how effective yujiros' words are towards him, and how even if trys to not care about yujiro opinion of him, a part of him deeply cares. Every child wants the approval of their parents even if they hate them.

After Jack asks him if he dislikes it, yujiro says, "I can't bring myself to" which made me threw myself against the wall.....LIKE I JUST CANT AND WHATS MAKES THIS WORST...

Idk why, but him saying that really fucks my heart so bad......i dont even know what to say I'm so fucking sad right now. No one ever gives itagaki credit for how good of a writer he is, mans is able to yank your heart strings out if he wants, This is probably my favorite chapter....the mood of it is so....calm and idk, but If this was able to fuck me up bad, just imagine how I'm be when more Jack lore come out

I don't think I ever express how much I love Jack, he's literally my baby before every annoying ass dudebro started liking him since the sumo arc, it's kinda werid seeing reddit mfs liking him especially when he was joke about alot (especially with all the terrible jokes about Diane)

I'll never forget whenever I'll talk about him on my insta some years back, people would always comment werid stuff about him, I remember when some said "he's a waste of hanma blood" LIKE WHAT or the time during Jack vs sukune fight someone comment this long dramatic ass paragraph about how Jack wasn't strong enough and how he's gonna die (to bad I never screenshot it cause the person deleted it when the fight ended)

also, the discussion around the fight was so annoying. Any time I would post about Jack in any silly way, mfs was always commenting, "He's gonna die," like??????? (Dont even get me started on the hate sukune for no reason) honestly feel like people start liking jack cause they thought after him winning tha meant the sumo stuff was over (the fact kehaya was fucking hated all because he appeared the chapter after the fight) so seeing him have so many "fans" now is so werid but I have to keep remembering most people like him due to his fighting and nothing else

like ughhhh he's more then that, he has an actual character...EVERYONE IN BAKI DOES, baki Fandom kinda feels like the dbz fandom, where mfs pick their favorites base off of how strong and never actually character writing, if theyre considered weak by the fandom they're a waste of a character in everyone eyes, god forbid you walk into the function with katou as your favorite.....were im going with this idk just know I love Jack to death

I think it's beautiful how kosho and kurheas relationship has developed, especially looking back on how kurhea was in the maximum tournament. How he had Tokugawa pair him and kosho together cause he didn't believe he was going to succeed in the tournament even saying his karate cant stand up against everyone, straight up going into protective big brother mode cause couldnt stabd the thought of anyone hurting him beside him. It shows how kurhea only views kosho as his little brother instead of a grown man with his own fighting abilities

I also really love how baki sums up they're relationship

I wouldn't be surprised if kurhea had to always looke after kosho while growing up, alot of older sibling look at their younger siblings as theyre kids in some way especially if they're always taking care of them while their parents always away. Also, adding on kurhea was always protecting him. So him having to see his little brother who always got pick-on grow up and have to fight his own fights probably struck something in him. He doesn't want to deal with his younger brother growing up FUCK even kosho calling him bro struck a nerve

So seeing kurhea not babying or criticizing kosho about him fighting Jack/ talking down on his abilities to go up against someone like jack is very sweet especially since kurhea refer to jack being one of the monster he was afaird of kosho possibly fighting

He has faith in his little brother, he isnt trying to talk him out of fighting or talk Jack outta wanting to fight kosho cause he's afraid kosho will fail. All he wants is for him to make it back to him so he can heal him.....omfg I'm gonna cry I love character development LOVE THUS TWO SO MUCH

I keep thinking about kurhea owning a pet, and how everybody would assume it's a purebred dog or a beautiful long hair cat breed with tiger or some fancy shit, just for bro to whip out a big ass slug that's the size of his arm

If asked why he has a slug as a pet, he'll bring up the benefits of their slime and how important it is to his skin-care routine

His slug is named Wo(kurhea isn't that creative with names) he found him at a park years ago, he loves Wo deeply and be upset if anything happens to him

Kurheas always loved unusual creatures. He does like cats and dogs, but he prefers tank creatures where he can make their own like environment with plants and greenery

Wo is only big due to kurhea's way of feeding him. He'll get a watermelon cut one half for him, then give the other to Wo(he's a very big boy, the size of a cat)

Since kurhea doesn't speak of Wo to anyone, it becomes a real shocker when anyone is at his house(which isn't often) imagine trying to find the bathroom only to open a door to a fat ass slug eatting half of a watermelon

"KURHEA THERES A BIG ASS SLUG IN THA ROOM"

"Oh, you mean Wo? He's a sweetheart he wouldn't hurt a fly"

The first person kurhea actually introduced Wo to was Jack. It took him a while to get used to a giant slug in the house, but the two built a mutual connection

Alright time for me to ramble about all the shit I came up with

Pickle is actually a horse, not an earthpony

Instead of him being referred to as a cavepony/earthpony, the accurate terminology for him is "Horse." Earthponies are descents of horses, The difference between the two is horses are stronger, taller, and more built while earthponies are way smaller and weaker

the term Horse was replaced with "earthponies." Due to how everyday earthponies dont share much resemblance to its ancestors so the term earthpony was invented, while Horse is used to refer to the species that came before.

Some earthponies still referred to themselves as "horses," even though they're not really horses....they're earthponies, but its very rare to hear the term used in everyday society.

Pickle's way of trying to communicate is speaking in horses vocal language,.....which is a forgotten language that no one can understand/speak, but Pickle is able to communicate with body language, which everypony is kinda able to understand

Yes, pickle is considered a carnivore. In this au, even tho I made it to were ponies,peagus, and unicorns are omnivores (this au goes against all facts of ponies/hores)

Just because some characters are peagus or unicorn, that does mean they themselves either use their magic or wings

Jack is a unicorn, but he purposely broke his horn off as a colt( just pretend that drawing i did of pony jack has a broken horn), to differentiate himself from Yujiro and to look more like an earth pony like Diane( just think of it as my one Jack au)

The reason yujrio and guverva fail to break theirs off is because alicorn horns are way stronger than a unicorns horns. The same can be said for the wings

When Yujro does his signature pose, yes, his wings do shoot out, making him look even more threatening( he hates that wings do that). Also, whenever he gets piss his wings shoot out as well

When yujiro was seeking out women to have his child, he specifically was looking for earthponies he did not want his child to be a peagus/unicorn. If baki would had come out as either(or god forbid a alicorn) he would have abandoned him on the spot

Yujiro has deep respect for earthponies, especially Pickle, due to him being a horse

Shiba has a broken horn due to being slammed in the head with a motorcycle

Retsu isn't able to use his wings, He has no feeling in his wings due to them being "dead," theres no blood flow or nerve movement in his wings, which doesn't bother him

Ok, let me explain hanyama kinda being an alicorn thing, so when hanyama was born, of course at first view, he's a peagus, but the doctor realized a werid bump in the middle of his head where a horn would be located at. After an x-ray, it was in fact a small ingrown horn.

The doctor wanted to remove it, but it turns out that if removed, it could fracture Hanyamas skull. With the risk of this happening, the doctor agreed to just leave it alone. He didn't tell his parents out of fear of Hanayamas father being the head of the Hanayama gang. Luckily, the ingrown horn never grew along with Hanyama. The bump is only noticeable if you're looking really hard at his forehead (so in a werid fucked up way being an alicorn is like a rare birth- defect)

Hanayama back tattoo also extended to his wings

Katou rides a motorcycle cause he doesn't know how to fly. He gets really defensive if you bring up his lack of flying, only doppo, sudeo,katsumi, and restu know.

Katou is afraid of heights, so there's that too

Doppo prefers walking over flying. The only time he flies is when he is taking Natsue for a lift around the city (she loves being high in the sky)

The characters who are all unicorns not use their magic for fighting, only for mundane things like holding and moving things

Using magic and your wings are prohibited in the underground arena

At times it's recommended for unicorns/peagus to cover their horns/wings because most fighters will attack thoes areas

Many peagus have gotten their wings torn off during a fight. the same goes for horns being broken

The sand of the arena is a mixture of teeth,parts of broken horns, and wing bone fragments

Most ponies walk/stand on their back legs, not everypony is able to do it, mainly only being able to doing it while fighting

Yangi is the only pony out of the convicts who stand/ walk with his back legs due to his posion hoove ( ok so I basically made up that if he was to stand/walk on all fours the posion in his hoove would travel up his leg and start to slowly infected him, so to prevent this he only walks on this two back legs) most ponies aren't able to do for a long periods of time except for yangi who had master it perfectly

Pickle also walks/stands on his back legs, which makes him even bigger

In the drawings of Musashi, he appears to be an earthpony, but when he passed, his body showed that he, in fact, had wings. He was a peagus the whole time who chose not to use his wings. This was kept a secret for years, even tho some rumor that he was a peagus, but it was always claimed as false.

Until he was clone, it came as shocked to Tokugawa and the others that he was a peagus. When asked about keeping his wings hidden, he answered that he didn't want to be viewed as having the upper hand on his enemies for being a peagus, since he didn't used them even in youth, he wished to view as an earthpony so he kept them hidden

Musashi also walks on his back legs

Kosho and Hanada are sparing, kosho ends up on top of Hanada, declaring himself as the winner, but while not paying attention, Hanada grabs the back of kosho's neck, bringing him closer to him "I always forget how pretty you are " then pulls kosho hair tie out, relasing his hair. He runs his fingers thou his scalp, feeling the others man soft hair while looking into his eyes with a small smirk. "There's the Kosho I know~, " he says while now caressing his face with his thumb slightly smearing his lipstick. Kosho eyes widen, pulling away quickly with a deep blush, his eyes avoiding the admiring glaze of man under him, " S-Shut up "
