Absolutely hate how every time American dubs have to dub an ethnic nonwhite character, regardless of whether or not the actor they hire is white or not, they're always directed to just do either a) the most bland American normal speaking voice they could muster, or b) Fake British Accent.

Idk maybe it's just me but if the ancient ancestor warrior of the Gerudo pronounces her own tribes name the same way that my middle school substitute teacher who thought Mexico was in India would, it's kind of an immersion breaker.

#bad luck watching into the spiderverse and then playing that bit of totk #really drives home how few nonwhite or in this case nonwhite sounding talent is regularly gotten for this stuff #into the spiderverse had a great cast but i should not be able to guess a characters voice actor based solely on their race #because i know there is only one choice for that race #that is used anyway #all English dubs recycling the same cast of like 12 people is also part of the problem #especially when its the ones who can only do one voice #theyre making robots that can make art but still cant find anyone who can at least just roll and R sound more than once per game or whateve #and lets not get into the other issues with the gerduo portrayal in totk and botw #if im going going to do one brief mini rant every 2 months and then vanish i have to pick my battles
