DDLitG: Indefinite Hiatus

Hey everyone, Yui here! I’m very, very sad to announce that I’ll be forced to put the story of DDLitG on an indefinite hiatus.

The reason I’m doing this is that my job’s workload has really caught up to me, and I kinda desperately need a break. I’m extremely thankful to be able to keep a job that allows me to work from home, as I know not everyone has that privilege. But sadly, teleworking also comes with a super increased workload, and I’ve been barely holding onto a semi-working schedule. My weekends feel like the burn out in seconds, and I currently don’t really have the energy, time, or creativity to keep posting updates. DDLitG matters a lot to me, and I’d hate it if my burnt out brain caused the quality of the story to decrease. I cannot and am not willing to compromise the quality of the updates for the sake of posting something every week.

Something that’s also worth mentioning is that, full disclosure, the story is steadily approaching its planned conclusion. And as the end to what has become one of the most important projects of my life, I want to be as good as it possibly can. If I were to rush it or poorly implement it, I’d never be able to forgive myself. This also means that while I won’t be posting, I’ll still be working on the last story arc, writing down details and making the necessary art assets. This way, this can truly be the final hiatus for DDLitG, and once we’re back, we'll be full of energy and can have one continuous stretch of story updates until the very end.

I keep saying this, but each time I say it I mean it more and more: the love and support I’ve received from working in this fancomic has been overwhelming. I can’t possibly thank you all enough for how patient and understanding you’ve been with me and the breaks I’ve taken in the past. And although one last one might hurt (I really enjoy writing this and miss it a ton when I’m not posting), I promise that it’ll be for the health and quality of the project overall. You all have been far too supportive and lovely with me, and you all deserve me at my absolute best and working my absolute hardest, which is why I consider this break necessary.

How long will this take? No idea. I don’t mean to whine but god, my brain feels like a pea that was left in a microwave at max setting for an hour, I really need to recharge my batteries for this one. I’ll still be active in the DDLitG discord server if you’re interested in chatting there, tho. I’ll also keep posting memes and fanart you guys send here, so don’t worry about that, I won’t be abandoning the blog. (Also don’t be surprised if you see me working on a mini project on the side while this blog is on hiatus, sometimes I need to work on other creative projects to get my mind off the main one to come back fresh later)

Thank you all for being here with me and for reading my long ass statement~ When we come back, what I’ll bring back is something I hope to be very powerful and unforgettable, so stay on the lookout for that! But for now, I gotta dip before I fall unconscious typing this and my head hits the keyboarlmsalkngikawo awnl
