Do you ever have a doctor's appointment, or maybe a meeting with an academic advisor or family elder, and it goes pretty well but also they're slightly appalled at your prior treatment from a different doctor/advsor/elder, and you look back and wonder what your life would be like if that prior person had been honest/helpful/done their duty?

#Today is not a shock because this FNP told me what my previous sleep doc told me: that sleep study from when I was 12 showed sleep apnea. #Now if only that first doc had told me when I was 12! Instead of going on about sleep hygiene! #High school and college would have been so different. #Probably. My mom thinks the untreated apnea gave me narcolepsy but she just told me that apparently at that first sleep study I awoke on #average 30 times an hour which to me sounds like I had narcolepsy then too. #I just wasn't falling asleep in class yet. #Another example: if my pediatrician had run the thyroid tests like my mom asked instead of waving her off. #I don't know when my mom asked and how many years it was until that one old doctor found it. #Could have saved me some sickness though. #personal #learning to function
