I think this whole poll business would be solved far quicker if we just ran Jun against every other persona character and then run the people who almost beat him against each other for second and third place

Not only that they are epic she/they nonbinary. Aigis has it all, the internalized homophobia, wondering if she’s enough for her partner because they’re a robot, she kisses kotone on the lips every night, makotos too, and wants both to know how much they mean to her. ARE THEY GAYER THAN JUN KUROSU?

After reading an ask on @gayest-persona-character's blog, I felt rather inspired to pull together this poll, which will be a... different kind of polling experience. There will be no tournament aspect to this. Every character submitted will face the same opponent- Jun Kurosu. All seeking the answer to the same question: Are they gayer than Jun Kurosu? For the purposes of this poll, the term 'gay' is being used broadly to mean the equivalent of queer and LGBTQ+, so don't be afraid to submit characters with bi and trans swag!

The polls will be posted at semi-regular intervals and last for approximately 1 week each. You can find submissions HERE.

For relative fairness, the Google Form includes a section for built in propaganda for both sides, to let those who may not be familiar with either character make a more informed decision on which character is truly more gay This is all for fun and games- I'm just curious if anyone can beat him personally! I'll start posting polls in about a week based on submissions.

YOSUKE HANAMURA (Persona 4) first off, there is the obvious point of yosuke's unused social link dialogue that basically confirms he was meant to be a romance option (similar to jun!), in not only japanese, but in english, meaning that they pulled the romance option out of the game at a very late stage of development. this means that yosuke is still extremely gay for partner lol, and his social link and many of his lines reflect this.

yosuke's homophobia towards kanji might feel like a point against him, but i'd argue it's a point for his gayness, he's a kid with a strict father and average all-male friend group in 2011 before he comes to inaba, and having to grapple with his feelings towards his partner and balance them with the toxic masculinity and heterosexuality he sees everyone else in his life display is a little hard for a 16 year old guy as desperate to fit in as yosuke is. he eventually apologizes to kanji, mentioning that they talked off screen about it during the dating cafe where kanji quotes yosuke as having said "there are many different forms of love", and yosuke mentioning that discrimination is wrong if you go back to kanji's dungeon.

and now for some yosuke quotes, all said to the protagonist: "you do seem to be great with your hands -- um, never mind." (05/03) "your motorcycle looks cool, and you don't look so bad yourself."
