the song Calm Me Down by Mother Mother is SO julian coded,, yes yes i try to see the julian in every song i listen to, but i mean it with this one. (this song is suggestive and mentions s/h but it isn't graphic)

like...

"Use your teeth" (like??)

"I put myself through living hell / All so I could feel what I felt / When you took me in, absolved my sin"

and "I wanna be a good man" are so HIM

Upcoming vacation/short hiatus announcement & some blog changes:

Sorry in advance for the long housekeeping post, friends!

I'm going to be traveling to meet up with extended family for a week, and it will be my first proper break from work since Christmas. It's unlikely that I'll have the hours a day it takes to post the amount of content daily that I usually do XD

So, for July 3-9, there won't be any full sets of headcanons or new parts of Vesuviella posted. My masterlists are kept completely up to date and pinned to the top of my blog, and I will still be responding to non-requests and lurking in the Arcana tag!

That said, here are some things that I'm considering:

I recently answered this prompt "ask arcana" style and it was so much fun that I'm going to half-open my requests to prompts like that while I'm on vacation so I can keep posting. Depending on how it goes, I might keep them open for when I'm not taking full headcanon requests ^.^

I've been feeling low-grade symptoms of burn out for the last month or so. Believe it or not, I have a full-time job that has me working at least 40 hours a week and writing and posting new content daily is something I do on top of that. I'm the only person running and writing for this account, I don't get paid for this, and I do it because it's my interest and I meet the loveliest people here

Which is why I'll be playing around with how I might switch things up on here during and after my break - I don't have any intentions of burning out and stopping! So I want to find a setup/rhythm that I can expect to sustain for much, much longer :)

Any major changes I make (schedule, content type, prompt guidelines, playlist building, blog etiquette etc) will involve polls, so please feel free to vote and send me any thoughts or ideas you have! This space has become the loveliest community and I want to involve everyone who enjoys it in deciding how it continues ^.^

Sorry again for the long housekeeping post! If you've read this far, I really really appreciate it and I can't wait for whatever chance I get to talk to you :)

ooh I've been meaning to mention this to you: if you're still doing the arcana playlist—but even if you aren't have you ever heard of Enneagram by Sleeping at last? It presents songs meant to represent the nine Enneagram personalities! I love listening to it and thinking of ✨scenarios✨ lmao. The songs are just so so so gooood

One that really makes me giddy is Eight because it makes me think of Muriel (so of course I'd love it lmao). I know I typically include a whole rant about each of the songs but like the first time I listened to Eight really just.... hit me you know? Like ugh the vulnerability the tenderness.... just listen to it please I know Muriel is supposed to be 6w5 but I think that's just trying to assign the Enneagram to the mbti personality type. Idk I think (based on the songs) Six and Eight really just fit Muriel.

And for Asra? Nine. Absolutely Nine. "I've been living half myself for more than half my life." Asra Is very Nine—Nine and Two; Though I can see Nine and Two Applying to MC as well if you focus more on those romantic aspects "Wake up, fall in love, again and again and again..." (9)—oh but I could see Seven applying to Portia and Asra as well.

oh and I just wanted to mention Maybe it Lucio stans would disagree with me, but like Lucio has to be a Three right? Please if you love Lucio I wanna know if you think it fits lol. Also just listen to Three in General I swear you won't regret it. Whether or not you like Lucio just listen to Three please please please.

oooh and also; you don't have to, but if you can spare the time, I'd love to hear what two enneagram assignments you'd give to each of the characters based on these songs.

And this is the part where I sheepishly admit that I know next to nothing about enneagram types - I tried taking the test myself a while back when all my friends were into it, and I kept getting a different result each time? I ended up so confused that I just decided to wait until someone had the time and investment to explain it to me XD

I did think about trying to get into it again when I was researching the characters, but I couldn't find any official assignments so I gave up :')

However, I am definitely interested in listening through those songs when I find the time and seeing which characters fit them!

hello! im reasonably new to your account and i just saw that you have an arcana playlist (love the idea of that) and i dont know if you still take suggestions for the playlist, but in case you do, i have a few songs that remind me of characters (aka just Muriel, like literally just him) that might be of use :)

On the Mountain Tall - the Oh Hellos, not only does the name and the general vibe of the song fit him but there are a few lyrics in it like "I know you want me to be afraid, I know you want me to love you" "Up out of the grave of an angry ghost, Firing bricks from broken canon and prose, To build a wall so high it reaches the heavens in the sky" "Still you beat your drums, Raising holy war with every strum, Shouting down the quiet kingdom come, Brushing at your fingers, hoping you'll come around" that honestly just fit very very well

How to Disappear Completely - Radiohead cus its sad as fuck. "I'm not here, This isn't happening, I'm not here, I'm not here, In a little while, I'll be gone, The moment's already passed, Yeah, it's gone", if thats not a man dissociating through traumatic expiriences i dont know what is. The song keeps repeating "im not here", and seeing how Muriel chose to have a curse that makes people forget him, it is very fitting

Trapdoor - Twenty One Pilots, i have had an arcana obsession since like? 2019? when i was still a massive fan of this band, and this song always reminded me of muriel. "Take me out and finish this waste of a life, Everyone one gather around for a show, Watch as this man disappears as we know, Do me a favor and try to ignore, When you watch him fall through a blatant trapdoor, 'Cause nobody know his life (i always thought it was "he's alive")", it gives the vibes of how the people of vesuvia did Not Give A Shit About him. They just thought hed willingly murder so many people, nobody saw the literal chains he was stuck in and thought "hmm maybe hes being forced to do this"

No Suprises - Radiohead, it reminds me of how Muriel pulled away from all society after he fled from the colosseum. It reminds me of how he was so scared and so ashamed to interact with people, how he just wanted some silent and rest after all the horrible things he went though, not just in the colosseum but his entire youth. "You look so tired, unhappy. Bring down the government, They don't, they don't speak for us. I'll take a quiet life, A handshake of carbon monoxide, No alarms and no surprises, No alarms and no surprises, No alarms and no surprises, Silent, Silent", to me the song always feels like it needs to be sung while sobbing.

Sleep - My Chemical Romance, i 100% believe Muriel has so many nightmares, i mean its even shown in his route once. A symptom of ptsd is night terrors, and seeing what the guy has lived through theres no way he goes to sleep normally. I think this song catches the vibe of this pretty well.

PTSD - Joost, literally just a (dutch) song about ptsd. its a massive vibe and cus i hc that Muriel has ptsd i thought it be fitting

On that note, im actually in the middle of doing an animatic for that last one which is- still wrapping my head around that ngl- but i realized halfway through it actually works perfectly for the daydreams and nightmares prompt so that’s extra motivation to get it done lol

Still working on the idea of my art being Percieved and that it doesn’t have to be perfect before being shown to others and it might not be as good as some of the others out there and thats fine so. Crossing my fingers i won’t chicken out on it and actually put something up on this blog, never thought i’d live to see the day but here we are

Anyway look at this absolute monstrosity
