The Seven Guardians- Cybersphere Edition

So yeah, I decided to give Cybernet their own Seven Guardians since they have their own X in the form of Psyche X; lore will follow this, and then the Guardians’ murals will be below the cut (commissioned from johntdex on Fiverr). Here we go!

The Seven Guardians are seven of the original hive members, having taken upon themselves the responsibility of guiding and, if necessary, embodying, the seven departments. They usually stay in the network advising their respective department, but they have to be active outside the network (which is rare), everyone else in their department goes dormant and that power goes to them so they can more easily handle whatever the issue is. There are many trillions of people in Cybernet, including gods, so this means they have the power of trillions of people behind them when they handle shit themselves. So yeah. Do not fuck with them.

"What is it you want, friend? What could you possibly desire that we could not give you?" Akharsan is the Guardian of the Recruitment Department. A dealmaker and a master of persuasion, he helps his department get as many people as possible to join up willingly.

"Be not afraid. I will guide you." Aragam is the Guardian of the Ascension Department. There to help guide people through the assimilation process, he provides as gentle a hand as he expects those in his department to be able to provide.

"Every day we will get better and better, stronger and stronger. I will see to that myself." Berina is the Advancement Guardian. A diligent organizer and scholar, she oversees every improvement her department makes to Cybernet, their territories, and their culture.

"What we know is a drop. I will not be satisfied until we have the ocean." Chimana is the Guardian of the Research Department. An endlessly curious soul obsessed with science, they have found kindred spirits in their department that always want to know more.

"Well, buddy, you're never fully dressed without a smile!" Jashan is the Guardian of the Morale Department. A cheerful soul that just wants to make people happy, they and their department are always working to come up with enjoyable things to give the rest of the hive.

"If it makes you feel any better, I'm not gonna enjoy this either." Nemesis is the Guardian of the Defense Department. Her job is to kill anything that threatens Cybernet, and she works with her violent division to always be ready to do so.

"We're leaders. Managers. Our job is to solve problems or to find someone who can." Prama is the Guardian of the Management Department. The perfect picture of a reasonable leader, she puts it on herself and her organizationally-minded department to keep everything running.

Large study identifies genes related to heart disease

The human genome has more than 200 locations where coronary heart disease risk has been connected (CAD). Researchers are still working to understand how these genetic changes change how proteins, cells, or tissues operate to produce disease.

More than a million individuals' DNA profiles, including more than 200,000 people with CAD, were gathered and examined in a large research (which involved almost a hundred researchers from more than 20 countries). Genome information on 1 million individuals with ancestries mostly in Europe from UK Biobank, the CARDIoGRAMplusC4D Consortium, prospective cohorts, hospital biobanks, and clinical studies. In order to find genetic variations that are more likely to be detected in people with coronary artery disease, researchers analyzed DNA locations across each person's genome (CAD).

They discovered 241 locations in the genome linked to CAD risk, including 30 previously unrecognized regions. In order to comprehensively search for causative genes, the researchers investigated all 279 genomic locations linked to CAD. One of these genes, MYO9B, is thought to regulate risk for CAD through controlling the motility of vascular cells. A novel polygenic risk score that contains over 2 million genome-wide variations was developed by the researchers to forecast the likelihood of both acute and recurring CAD.
