Warnings: I don't think there's a single warning for this one, I'm losing my touch.
She doesn’t see that little seed pearl again. But on the bright side, she does see her Biotite friends again—she’s transferred to Earth.
There’s something funny, about Earth. Something in the air, or the way the organics grow. It’s a little intoxicating; a sunny day has a smell here, and a rainy day too. (Rain, she learns, is when water falls out of the sky.) It’s a little sad, watching Lapises clearing ground for another spire, or another temple, or another arena. The Biotites’ designs are gorgeous, of course they are! But so are these things called flowers, not to mention trees.
And, well, she’s been hearing things. About the rebellion, and the Rose Quartz leading them; their mission to save all this teeming organic life from the havoc Gem production’s gonna wreak. If Bismuth is really honest...she likes the sound of that.
Anyway, Iris Agate’s a beast, Bismuth wishes the rebellion would come muck up this tower construction so she could get a day off.
——————-
“We are—”
“—the Crystal Gems!”
In the chaos Bismuth sees things she’s never seen before. A huge pink Quartz, dressed flowy and fancy as a Diamond— a pearl with a sword in each hand, swords she knows how to use— some kind of cross-gem fusion?! INCREDIBLE! They take out eight of Bismuth’s comrades and trash the work site before they’re surrounded, and Bismuth flanks as close as she dares while Iris is puffing up and brandishing her laser whip.
“On your left,” she whispers out the side of her mouth, as near the fusion as she dares. “Take me with you!”
The fusion seems to freeze; ahead of them Iris and that spunky pearl are facing off, Bismuths around the circle hooting and hollering. Iris strikes, slices through one of the pearl’s blades, they must be only steel—
Then fast as anything the Quartz—must be Rose Quartz—is there with a shield that rings out like a struck bell, and the fusion whips toward her, tugs her in close and puts a huge gauntlet fist, sparking electric, right up in her face. “We’ve done what we came to!” she shouts, and her voice carries. “And we won’t stop until every one of Homeworld’s constructions are destroyed!”
There’s a rumble around the circle, a murmur, and Bismuth wasn’t planning to be a hostage today but if that’s what it takes— her comrades look between her and Iris, and start backing away.
“What are you doing, you boulderheads?” Iris snaps, cracking her whip uselessly against Rose Quartz’s shield again. “Get back here and capture these rebels!”
“No way,” Three-Forty-Six says. “They got Two-Oh-Oh-Four!”
Good old Three-Forty-Six.
“You’re immune to electricity!” Iris yells, apoplectic.
“Oops,” the fusion says in your ear.
Then there’s a very pointy blade at your gem, with a very pointy nose and a ferocious look at the other end. The murmuring rises; the other Bismuths back up further.
“Let’s go,” says Rose Quartz, quick and hushed; the circle opens, Iris Agate still screaming her gem out as they haul you away.
