i think my general thoughts on the percy show is just that they're way overcomplicating everything

#uhhhh me #i think all the dialogue and pacing problems stem from this tbqh #anyway i loooove the beginning of episode 5 and ares starting fights on twitter bc of course he would #rest of the episode is where it got kinda messy again for me #them coming to the conclusion that clarisse is the thief is so funny tho. you're sooooo close kids 😫 #i wish there were some reference to how ares reminds percy of every bully and bad teacher he's had #bc i think that's one of the major ways for us the audience to materially grasp how reprehensible ares is #(show!ares is more goofy than he is mean and that's fine BUT) #the show already has a good set up for this! nancy calls percy 'special' and it's clearly a trigger for him #bc later when sally says he's special he gets upset about it too #so if there were just a bit right before they get on the zoo truck #where the kids are like 'stop saying we're gonna fail the quest. we won't.' #and ares says 'right. i forgot. you're special.' #and THAT'S what really makes percy snap #small thing but i think that's what would REALLY get the audience to be like alright. time to throw hands with the god of war
