my god i am THINKING about revenge in blade of the immortal, specifically wrt shira...... manji cut off his arm so he swore revenge and to this end he fucking cut the meat off his severed arm and sharpened the bone and this cutting-away has made him unsteady and when he uses it as a weapon oh it hurts him it hurts so much it blinds him but he has already cut to the bone and it will all be a waste if he does not use this weapon to kill a man who cannot be killed, to gouge his eyes out and cut his limbs off and let them regenerate for the sake of causing him the same suffering that he caused shira (though manji only cut the arm off. shira was the one who shaved it down to the bone and blacked out screaming more times than he could count from the pain of it but he was the one who kept going)
