Se inició el Mundial de Montaña y Trail con participación sudamericana

Con la participación de varios atletas sudamericanos se realizó, este miércoles 7 de junio, la competencia de Subida Vertical, dando comienzo al Campeonato Mundial de Montaña y Trail en Innsbruck-Stubai, Austria, junto a los paisajes del Tirol. Se prolongará hasta el próximo sábado. La competencia se realizó sobre 7,1 km. y proclamó como campeones al keniata Patrick Kipngeno entre los hombres y la austríaca Andrea Mayr en damas.               El recorrido, de continuo ascenso, contó con un kilómetro de asfalto en la zona de salida y posteriormente discurrió todo por senderos, muchos de ellos estrechos, para llegar a meta justo por encima de los 2.000 metros de altitud en el Elferhütte. Kipngeno retuvo el título logrado en Tailandia el año pasado: dominó la carrera desde el principio y llegó a meta con un tiempo de 40:18, aventajando en 1:33 al ugandés Levi Kiprotich. Tercero fue el también keniano Josphat Kiprotich. El atleta sudamericano más destacado, entre los 122 atletas que completaron la prueba, fue el argentino Javier Carriqueo, 43° con 47:23. La austríaca Andrea Mayr le dio el primer título a la selección local al ganar la competencia femenina, seguida por la keniata Philanes Jeruto Kipsang y la estadounidense Grayson Murphy. Esta prueba se realizó justo después del mediodía austríaco y Mayr lideró  durante casi todo el recorrido. Pero antes de la última subida fue superada por Kipsang, quien pagó su esfuerzo en el tramo decisivo, lo que permitió que la atleta local recuperara el primer puesto.  “Cuando ella me pasó, pensé que mi sueño estaba roto, pero me prometí no dejarla”, contó Mayr, subcampeona mundial en la edición anterior detrás de la estadounidense Allie McLaughlin (ahora 13ª.). La mejor sudamericana fue la ecuatoriana Blanca Lelmiquinga, en el puesto 40°. El Mundial, enmarcado en las actividades de ITRA junto a World Athletics, se prolongará hasta el sábado abarcando las pruebas de Trail y Montaña, y también una especial para la categoría juvenil u20. I am delighted to announce that my bowl sculpture titled 👉 Copper bowl in yellow and black has been chosen for exhibition in the Market House gallery as part of the Mountshannon Regeneration arts festival on the 👉 24th to the 26th of September. Handmade in the West of Ireland It is a tactile piece, with weaving shades of copper, yellows, black and orange. Medium: Salvaged sourced 50-year-old Copper, Fully handcrafted by traditional metalworking techniques and Patina aging and finishing methods. No paint is used on the Copper medium the colours are achieved by exploiting the materials natural ability to self-oxidise. This item is original and one of a kind Influence for creation: The West of Ireland landscape, the Shannon Estuary as the sun sets. Abstract sculpture, untitled for now. Mediums: Salvaged Copper on a timber base. Handmade using simple metalwork hand tools, the spiral was formed using heat and cold working methods, the sculpture is laden with various patina colouring, no paint was used to colour the copper, the colours are achieved by exploiting the metals ability to self oxidise. This piece was inspired by the Abstract sculptor Anthony Caro who used various found metal parts as the main features of his works. Link in bio. A new commission to start of the new year, the client wanted something of impact and on a large scale as it will be a centre piece for a large music room. I created a rough sizing template so the client would get a feel for it's size and form.
