[love - original story ft original characters. please dont reblog, but liking is okay.]
“I love you, so much, my dear,” Seth whispered between kisses against her neck.
“I know, my love,” Simone replied, with one hand dug into his long, snow white hair. “But something is bothering you.”
The former arch-demon of lust smiled against his beloved’s skin, before spinning her around to hold her in a tight embrace. He held her close to his chest, as if he was afraid of losing her within the blink of an eye. “I’m sorry, Simone, I have too much on my mind. I feel that I don’t cherish you enough.”
“But you do, my darling,” she replied as she lifted her eyes to stare into his and cupped his cheek. “You have been working harder than usual lately, which gives us little time for each other, but that’s the point of living this life we chose. You and I will still live forever, so please, don’t stop doing what you love just because of me.”
Seth gently wrapped his fingers around Simone’s wrist to pull it away from his face, and plant kisses against the palm of her hand. She is right, he thought. But he can’t help how he feels. “I’m sorry, my sweet,” he said in an apologetic tone. “Once I finish crafting up clothes for the upcoming show, you and I will go on vacation! It has been years since we last stroll down the beaches of Rios, didn’t we?”
“It has...” Simone replied, then shut her eyes to meditate. “To get tickets for the cruise will be expensive, because the Drifting City is growing closer to our region. Not many ships will go straight to Rios from here.”
“How unfortunate...” Seth let out a sad sigh, then shrugged with a smile. “But no price is too high when it comes to spending time with you!”
“Then you better get the tickets soon, Seth.” Simone then opened her eyes to give her husband a warm smile. “But you do know that no matter where we go, just being with you is enough.”
“And so do you.” He ran his fingers through her platinum blond hair, and brushed his thumb against her tanned cheeks. “I love you,” he said.
“I know,” she replied. “I love you too.”
“I know.” Unable to hold himself back any longer, Seth pulled Simone into a deep kiss.

Free People X Earth First Fashion
What’s so good about Free People? Well... Basically everything, but in the name of good taste and more information we’ll elaborate...
For starters, let’s just extend on what ‘Free People’ actually is... This is in response to some of the email queries that have come through to Earth First Fashion about where to go to become a ‘Free People’ (the interest is great guys, we really appreciate it... but this is sustainable fashion, not a commune... yet).
Right, now that we’ve cleared that up... Free People is an American Fashion Label that was initially created by Einstein... oops, I mean Dick Hayne (that was an honest mistake that as you can see, could easily be made based on the fact that they’re both absolute geniuses) in the era of Peace & Love - the 1970s. The first ever store was opened in West Philadelphia as a boutique selling clothes from other brands - but Dick and his lovely wife Meg eventually decided that they would create a wholesale line of their own. So in the era of Disco & Colour - the 1980s, Free People (the label) officially came to life, changing the name of fashion (in my opinion) forever.
There’s a whole lot more to the story that you can read here if you’d like : https://www.freepeople.com/help/our-story/
But let’s continue on to why we (Earth First Fashion) had to have Free People on board as we embark on the journey for change by way of ethics and sustainability in the boutique world of fashion.
Firstly, Free People have values -
Yep, that’s right... We value that Free People value their values and value the values that we value... Well... that sounded a whole lot more impactful and rhythmic in my head... Apologies. I’ll try again...
Free People operate based upon a collection of values that are targeted at minimising their impact of production, operation and distribution on the planet... (Yep, that was much better).
Sustainability
While it’s hard to justify just how well such a huge fashion supply chain rates in terms of sustainability, we can comfortably say that Free People have made substantial progress to make their overall operations as a business relatively green.
To date, Free People have made huge changes in the name of sustainability to their overall business model, including their great Reduce, Reuse, Recycle programs that are facilitated across each level of their operations. URBN (Free Peoples shell company) act as a recycling collection facility at their corporate building for all recyclable materials and make every effort to recycle textiles at their packaging and distribution facilities and retail stores.
They’ve also achieved some pretty impressive stuff in terms of Alternative Energy. So... Like me... You may raise an eyebrow at the idea of a fashion supply chain investing in sustainability via the development of alternative energy initiatives... But this is what some bloggers that have written about Free People have failed to recognise... Just because Free People is considered to be a product of the fashion industry... Doesn’t mean that it can’t outwardly invest in eco-friendly opportunities that may not be directly fashion related. For example the fact that they have built one of the largest solar energy rooftop installations in the USA which harvests enough energy to save 965,000 kg of Carbon Dioxide, 412,443 litres of gas & 24,202 trees per year. That is a phenomenal result for the planet whether disapproving bloggers would like to admit it or not.
Free Peoples first major breakthrough for alternative energy was the installation of an energy system at their corporate campus which was installed for the purpose of utilising stacked fuel cells to convert the chemical energy from natural gas and water into electricity. This is some impactful stuff. The result of this installation in 2015 alone was the generation of 4,901,816 kWh of energy which is the equivalent to planting and growing 50,680 trees for 10 years. Another win for the planet that deserves more recognition.
Now while there may be room for improvement, we can appreciate the huge efforts that have been integrated by Free People to reduce their own carbon footprint. It is important to acknowledge that the fashion industry is not going anywhere, and it is industry giants (like Free People) whom are seeking and applying sustainable alternatives, are the vessels that drive change and inspire change in the industry.
Ethics
It brings me great pleasure to work with businesses that value the ethical manufacturing of all of the products that they distribute and Free People openly value ethics.
Free People comply with the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act and the “Company’s Statement of Corporate Policy and Code of Conduct, as well as other corporate policies and procedures, set forth the Company’s guiding principles that Suppliers must conduct business in a lawful, ethical and responsible manner. As a condition of doing business with Free People, each Supplier must agree to conduct its business in conformance with the Code of Conduct.
Under the Code of Conduct, Free People’s Suppliers certify that they will conduct business in compliance with the law, including, among other things, without child labor, without forced or compulsory labor, without corporal punishment, without discrimination and in compliance with wage and hour requirements, health and safety and environmental laws.”
Basically, they value ethics. And no aspect of their business tolerates unethical practice.
We can confirm that all of their outsourced manufacturers are certified by fair trade organisations and do not conduct unethical business in any way, shape or form. Workers are paid a living wage, no children are subject to labour on behalf of Free People or any of it’s suppliers and they are genuine about their ethics values.
Charity
The list of amazing goes on in the Free People world... and it really gets us excited about working with them. We believe in creating a platform that does better for the planet and the people we share it with and Free People are 100% in that category.
Supporting charitable organisations provides an insight into what Free People stand for and what they wish to achieve through their influence. There are so many amazing causes that Free People support that you can read about on their website. We’re just so proud to work with a company that wants to do more in the world than just bask in their glory.
Overall, we’re really proud to have Free People on board with us as we embark on our journey to an ethical and sustainable boutique shopping experience and we look forward to working with many more inspiring brands, just like Free People because the organisations that are making a difference are the organisations that will continue to make a difference.
We love you Free People and everything you do. Thanks for becoming an Earth First label... We can’t wait to BE the change with your help.
