the bug organisation emailed me back and misunderstood me entirely… just told me to look up flea circuses. so while it is possible to keep a flea in captivity i feel like putting it in a circus it the worst thing you could ever do to a creature like a flea. all those eyes in the audience on the little guy. probably shy as fuck and they put it in a CIRCUS

#reading the wikipedia page for flea circus made me so unbelievably sad #all the tricks rely on the flea’s instinct to escape but they weigh the thing down so it can’t #and lives it’s short life kicking paper balls and jumping around hopelessly #i feel like they just didn’t know enough about fleas to tell me #which i understand because who gives a fuck about the humble flea #i do… i don’t know why i’m so fixated on this idea as one as a pet #but i just keep picturing a little bug terrarium with tiny shrubs and grasses and sand and a little pool and toys #and there’s a bunch of fleas and they’re all bros and they’re happy and finally someone cares about them #crying at 8am over the idea of this #i feel like i’m the first person in history to care about a FLEA
