wings of fire taking a sharp turn into horror at the end of the 3rd to last book… crazy stuff

#im like halfway through book 15 now im soooo mixed on the breath of evil stuff #it’s soooo compelling and freaky and done well BUT #however i feel like it detracts a bit from the plot that actually hooked me on the arc #like the lost continent (the book) was prob my favorite book in the series bc of how blown away i was by the themes #i’m not super invested in the characters compared to other books but i was like woah a story about how someone is becoming radicalized #and tbh the mind control stuff also felt like it detracted a bit from SOME of that for me bc like are we saying no one would be complicit #in oppression without mind control??? #which. i am putting my faith in the author based on how good everything has been so far #that no actually when this gets resolved there will still be dragons who want to uphold the system bc it benefits them and stuff #bc otherwise it would feel like a copout idk #but the breath of evil stuff is like. i don’t think it takes AWAY from that in the same way #but it does feel like a distraction. what happened to the original plot of the movie you know #r.txt
