seeing other ppls graha relationships and how he finds a mirror in the wol is cool. i forget about the fact that his exarchship and mission probably did bring him closer to understanding the wol because I've always thought of him as a lonelier creature than the wol from the beginning. in gourd's case it is his recognition of that in him & proving to him something about being connected to others that sparks him to meet his destiny but I also think I tend to not think super deeply into the gourd side of things when it comes to wol/exarch

#i guess i want my graha to never really think of gourd as something that's not a friend in some way #it's the idea that he doesn't see the wol's suffering as special or unique but rather something everyone goes through in their own way #so he puts himself out there learning that because my hc is that he was someone who was pretty afraid to live #and spent most his pre-noah days chasing after heroic fantasies and myths and long gone histories and things that could never touch him #putting all his stake into some mysterious magic bloodline eye thing #deep down not believing it's anything other than a distraction but still forming his entire life around it cause he has nothing else #but then it turns out it's real and that it's actually really mundane and it's something he has to choose. #i like to think of the wol as something like that too for him where early on he realizes oh this is just a guy #and a guy can mean everything to me somehow the world as it is isn't so bad etc.
