the fact that Sahar and Amir are nothing alike is so wonderful to me and not because one is better than the other but you can hear rather than see that tamino was on a totally different journey while writing Sahar and on top of that you can really tell them apart, there’s only one song (a drop of blood) that reminded me of that Amir sound which is not a bad thing at all and in fact I appreciated that small nod to that era. overall it feels as if the songs have an identity of their own, and even if he had kept the same feel as the last album I wouldn’t be upset since tamino’s music in any shape or form is always welcome, but I feel really grateful for the subtle and not so subtle differences between this and debut because despite the contrast (Amir being a tad bit more sad than sahar) this last record conserves tamino’s essence and it carries his personal seal.
