Why has going out to eat lately, become a disappointing experience?

#went out to a restaurant last night that my brother raves about #its his birthday so he got to choose #honestly went last time and service wasn't very good and limited choice #last night service was very slow and they had updated the menu but honestly the food i was given wasn't anything special? #and last week i went to a cafe and they burnt my bed and the meat was so dry #ive been having better luck cooking food at home and tastes better #we were pretty patient to be fair but it had doubled the waiting time before we got main course #its a shame because i like going out and trying new food #and i know staff shortages are everywhere atm #maybe im growing old and prefer to eat at home
