I heard from book readers that Porsche and Vegas collude together, supposedly, to take down Korn and are doing so behind Kinn's back at the end of the KP books. Are they just dumping KP issues onto them this time around?

However, it does not make sense why Vegas would leave Pete dying, bleeding out on the floor & why he wouldn't tell Pete because Pete no longer works for the Main Family. Like, why? To protect him and Macau and Venice? Or Unless he believes that Pete'll go back to Kinn/Main Family?

Also, they're just destroying the PorschePete friendship, aren't they? And for why?

There's no way they're going to include that in a season 2 (if we get one). Vegas is too loyal to Pete and so is Porsche who decked Vegas twice in the face and threatened him for hurting Pete with an "we'll meet again" or something if he does it again.

This would also complicate the whole trust issues plot point between KP and would just decimate all the progress this entire season was about...

Like, there's no way. At this point, you just need to treat the book and the show as two separate pieces. An adaptation. Not to mention that Porsche's mother is dead in the books.

It would just absolutely ruin any characterization show!characters made on all fronts. Not possible.

The unfortunate part is that I heard the 2 novel writers are difficult to work with and tried to retain as much of the novel as possible (especially the non-con) in the previous production company and had problems with them... and they're entitled as fuck so I can imagine more drama springing up around them and now that the boys and the series got attention, they might feel even more entitled to getting their hands on the show material/script 😭 they might've allowed the changes to occur with BOC because the show literally got canceled and then revived no thanks to them (only to Mile with his $$$ and Pond). Now imagine how cocky they might've gotten now that its internationally successful...

see this is why i have ISSUES with why porsche was made the head of the minor family. THIS is why.

bc ultimately, 1 of 2 things will happen:

1) vegas is gonna comeback with a vengance and wanna take his rightful title back from porsche. which means bloodshed. but it'll also give me vegaspete going in together to war. which is what i want.

2) porsche is sooooo out of his depth and will want to take korn down that he will end up colluding with vegas behind kinn's back. or maybe not even behind. he just says to kinn that he needs vegas' help and bc he is the head of the minor family, he can seek vegas' assistance as and when he pleases and needs. and. how long is vegas is gonna put up with being used like that with no cred to his name before the urges kick in.

and i just. do not want vegaspete playing up to porsche. no thank you. the whole point of them being made redundant was so that they arent owned by anyone. they come back into the underground scene when THEY want. not bc porsche comes begging for help, no matter how tempting bringing korn down sounds. i do not want kp's issues being dumped onto vegaspete like that. vegaspete are a unit of their own, and i s2g if i have to see vegas and pete "pick a side" ...... fuck off with that bullshit. FUCK OFFFFFF. the whole POINT of vegaspete is that its them vs everyone else. not pete being on one side and vegas on the other side bc pete finds the major family's side to be ~morally right~. oh my god can we NOT. pete has NO allegiances to them anymoreeeeee!!! he's served his time there!!!!! FUCK KORN and taking his side bc of all that he's done for pete! FUCK THAT! pete has served them with his all and thats THAT. vegas and macau are HIS FAMILY. he HAS to stand with and by them. THATS where his loyalties are.

so. like. yeah. making porsche the head of the minor family was such a stupid stupid move. and i get that they did that so that there's always a way for vegas to come back into the mafia world again. i GET that. but it has to be done right. and that has to be vegas going "well, porsche isnt the head of the minor family bc im still fucking alive and breathing, bitch, arent i?" before he raises hell with pete to go and get whats his. it CANT be done ANY OTHER WAY. bc theyve been MADE powerless. and vegas has got to reach that point of self realisation where he in his sane mind weighs it up and makes that call, knowing its about him, and not his envy of kinn or kp's issues being dumped onto vegaspete. and then if he wants to seek revenge for his dad against korn after becoming the head of the minor family, THEN PLEASE DO SO! WITH PETE RIGHT BY HIS SIDE!

and the novel? that vegaspete chapter? porsche shooting pete???? lmao ok. vegas running away with porsche whilst pete bleeds out? FHDBFJSIFI wild lmaaaao. i'm not even .... gonna go into that bc ive already made my opinion on it known.

essentially an ideal s2 for vegaspete is for it to be about THEM. and what THEY want. not playing pawns in a bigger game of chess again. and if its VEGAS who wants to take korn down and wants his rightful title back as head of the minor family, then pete MUST support that decision. THATS THE WHOLE POINT.

So I had a thought about Love in the Air. I saw a comment stating that it doesn't really seem to have a driving plot so far, and I don't disagree. Based on the first four episodes there's no driving plot for the series, it's kind of just a small snapshot of these characters falling in love. But scrolling TT the other day I caught a video discussing how booktok discusses books, and the jargon used there, that's fairly specific to that group. You'll see similarities with fanfiction communities, we're all still reading, but there's a recognized language that directly associates with fanfiction, but generally not other written work. But circling back to my point, one of her points made was that when discussing books with other readers you might describe a book as character driven or plot driven. I think Love in the Air falls into the character driven category.

There's no overarching plot/conflict, it's the characters driving the story, and even four episodes in we've seen growth with Rain. For all his teasing Payu knows that Rain isn't dumb, just immature. He wouldn't have gotten into the faculty he's in without a good deal of talent, intelligence, and hard work. And when Rain messes up, Payu comforts but doesn't coddle him. He lets him know that he knows he's capable and he expects him to put in the effort. He also quietly encourages him, after seeing that confidence is something Rain struggles with. I'm hopeful that we'll see more growth as the season goes on.

I can't speak to Sky's romance yet, as that apparently doesn't gear up for a few more episodes, but I do think if they kind of continue in this vein of these characters that are different, but still well-matched growing together (which is what's needed for a long-term relationship, you either grow together or grow apart) then I'll feel the show is success.

I love a deep, meaningful show, but I also love a fluffier show. All media has value, and one of the things I enjoy about many BL dramas is that they give representation without a regular focus on the trauma that the community deals with. There's certainly some work to be done on making the entertainment industry and companies producing BL dramas into a healthier place, particularly for the stars, and I do wish more of the actors were openly out (if they are part of the queer community) but I know there's safety concerns there. Anyways...I'm interested in your thoughts around this, though we'll certainly need the whole season before we can reach true conclusions.

Okay...so I've seen some discourse around the interwebs of people angry at Rain for giving Prapai the keys to Sky's apartment and asking him to take care of him, including saying the Rain is a terrible friend for crossing Sky's boundaries like this. And I feel like people are being a little harsh. Rain can occasionally be a bit of a dummy, yes, but he is a kind and protective person. I feel like there's this assumption that the only contact or interaction that Rain and Prapai have ever had is what we've seen onscreen, and really that's unlikely. If Prapai and Payu are best friends, Rain would have a lot more interaction than what we've seen. Rain also knows that Payu trusts Prapai. Rain is basing his trust partially on Payu's opinion and friendship with Prapai. He also knows that Prapai likes Sky, the same way that Payu likes Rain, so for him he can't see Prapai treating or caring for Sky any different from what he has experienced in the care of Payu. Even with the trust he's placing in Prapai he clearly impresses on him "I'm trusting you with my best friend, do not break that trust", before giving him the keys.

I'm not going to argue that he's not crossing boundaries, but those boundaries are an assumption made by the audience. Sky has never even hinted to Rain about his past trauma, the fact the Rain didn't even know his ex was a man shows that. Sky being closed off even from Rain is the reason he doesn't know. Sky being even moderately open, just giving Rain the most base level, and saying "I'm not in a place to deal with Prapai ever" would likely have been all it took. Rain would have figured something else out.

But I don't think Rain is a bad friend, he's just naive, and he's also not given a lot of opportunity to show what type of friend he is because of their dynamic, Sky being more mature and Rain being a little more wild/immature.

I'm rewatching Love in the Air, because of course I am, and we all know that so far Sky is the underrated king of this show. His reactions are gif gold.

I'm on episode two and Sky crossing himself in a prayer for Rain as he drags Payu off is just the cutest, sweetest, and funniest thing. He's just like "I'm praying for you buddy, I really think you might have bitten of more than you can handle with that one, but god speed my friend."

Just look at this precious bean. I'm loving Payu/Rain, but I'm excited to see Prapai and Sky get more screen time.

Oh my god that longest tag...that post is, well I can't say not fit for the internet, I've been here a long time, and it's no where near what you can encounter in the wilds of the interwebs, but it's probably one of the most *embarrassed face* things I've ever posted. Also, hilarious that I have 100% more posts than last year. I didn't post at all, because I sort of fell of the tumblr train for a while.

Thanks for the ask Gato!

First impression: he spooked me! Yana Toboso did a great job of making the pilot really impact full, and just the casual elegance of Sebastian murdering that guy was giving very cool horror vibes.

Impression now: a very complex lil rascal when it comes to his past relationships, his feelings toward Ciel, and just how powerful is he?? Lots of intrigue, esp in the new arc of the manga!

Favorite moment: ahhhh so hard to choose. It's tied between Ciel's asthma scene in BOC iirc, which was just horrifying, or the final scene in the anime that got me really emotional the last time I watched it 😭

Idea for a story: ive had quite a few for sebby here! though, most of them are some sort of batman crossover because of this one crackshot i wrote a while back X) one that's been tickling the back of my head for a while is a Baldo harem fic where Sebastian is one of the main LI's, along with Lao lolll. we'll see if i write it for real some day.

Unpopular opinion: ooh boy. Ive got 2, i think? I ship sebaciel and I think Sebastian has very oddly fatherly moments with Ciel, at least in the anime.

Favorite Relationship: Tied between Sebaciel and Sebabaldo

Favorite Headcanon: That not only is Sebastian a demon, he's a fallen angel- and one of the most powerful in hell, so much so that angels fear him. Also that rather than wanting to consume Ciel entirely, he's been licking his soul like a lollypop- only every so often so that Ciel has time to recuperate. It's probably tied to when Ciel says "Sebastian, this is an order!"
