There's been some really good posts that have been made already about the lack of body diversity in BG3, specifically in terms of the lack of a fat body type(s) and why this is such an issue
As someone who is non-binary and has just gone back to character creation to make a character for a "good" run, I would also like to add how disappointing it feels when it comes to the lack of options available when making a non-binary and/or gender non-conforming character
Of course, we have the option of non-binary as a gender and we can select different genitals for our characters. Body types are also referred to as 1-4 rather than assigning "female" or "male" categorisation, and the same with voices. All of which are so important and liberating to see in a video game
But I feel so deeply frustrated that I cannot pick body type 1 or 3 and have a character with a flat chest, or body type 2 or 4 and have breasts. Facial and body structures are locked to particular body types which means that if I prefer the look of face 5 on body type 1/3 over how it looks on body type 2/4 then I have to deal with my character also having breasts.
It also appears that, despite choosing non-binary as a gender, that pronouns are linked to the body type you select. Whilst you can use any pronouns regardless of gender, it definitely feels weird (and somewhat uncomfortable) to have characters refer to my enby character as "she/her" with no options to change this
Making a flat-chested butch enby with body type 1/3 is currently impossible with the way things are set up so my enby monk character just doesn't feel right at all to me. And let's not even get into how sad I feel that I cannot realise my dreams of playing a beautiful twinky tiefling boy. Surely this is why we play D&D and therefore is what The People would like in BG3 character creation :')?
